    i'm truly inspired by you to do the same. for that price, you could get a complete lifestyle it's amazing.
    furthermore Da Nang is my fav city by far. went there on a solo birthday trip back in 2018 & i cannot stop thinking of that city till now. it's prolly true when they said Da Nang is the Singapore of Vietnam. just that you can live there with a fraction of the price here.

    Good detailed description of costs overall for that part of Da Nang. In answer to the question regarding thoughts of the costs, I would say it is reasonable for Da Nang in 2021 and obviously cheaper than in the U.S. Plus, you pay less but get to live in a beautiful place that's safe and where you can enjoy and save money as well. Wow, amazing value, but that's more for a young person. Safety Wing as travel insurance is only for 39 and under at $40 pm. In our 60s, it's more $150 pm. Appears you are getting pandemic rental rates, as your apartment would be more likely $500 a month normally. We lived in Danang in An Thong and paid $400 for a new studio apartment, but it did have an elevator and $50 a month in electricity costs, but we did cook. Just pointing out, it wont be as cheap as US $1000 pm for everyone. As you said though if you live near the River it's much cheaper. Our food costs were a lot more, but for a an older couple, we will be expecting to spend US$ 1300 to $1500 pm, with $500 of that being for monthly rent.

    • @christinaclesca1384
      @christinaclesca1384  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes and actually right now there are even one bedroom apartments for about 6 million Vietnamese dong. Prices have dropped in some areas but not all. Restaurants for example are still pretty high in my area. I don't think much of that will change this year. It's a great time to rent. 👌

    I do have a question for you unsure if you have answered this question on a previous video. When paying for your rent, must you pay everything up front? Or is it on a month to month like it is in the USA? Lastly, apartment deposits, credit reports etc required. We have visited in May 2019, fell in love with the city too

    • @christinaclesca1384
      @christinaclesca1384  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi JoAnn, great questions. When it comes to the rent no credit score checks, you will just have to put the deposit and they will make copies of your passports. Some apartments will ask for 2 months upfront but most will ask for 1 month deposit. 👌

  • @jaiho9442
    @jaiho9442 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    $992 a month is cheap, that doesn't pay the rent in most desirable US cities. Here in Denver Colorado, one bedroom apt is at least $1,500/month.

    You mentioned having a Vietnamese phone plan but how do you conduct business in the US? For example, regarding US banks you need a US phone number attached. I'm asking because I'm a newbie at this travel/digital nomad life and I need understanding. 🤦🏾‍♀️ I use sim cards but I still want to have a US number without having to run to the states every 4 months or so to "restart" the clock. I currently have T-mobile.

      Hi V, you can get a google voice number which will allow you to still have a US phone number. you can also get a google phone international plan.

    A great informative video !
    A quick question : How do you manage to extend your visa for last 2 years there ? I understand US citizens are granted 1 year Visa upon arrival if I am not mistaken. After 1 year how do you manage to get extension ? is that month to month extension or every 3 months ?

    ok, foreigners feel good here because you earn much more money than locals. For me, I work and earn salary 500 USD per month. 130 usd/ rental room, Foods 200 USD, Motorbike gasoline 25USD, Electricity, water bill 15 USD, Eat-out friends wedding party 50USD, 80USD left for stuffs... shampoo, toiletries, cleanser, drinks... Just enough! a question is: when I can buy a house, a car and travel around like you guys??????????? Should I do business, work more jobs, overtime... 500USD is good, many people just earn 300 USD in Da Nang.

      Hoping to go for an extended stay when we can leave Australia and Vietnam opens up. We lived in Danang and found AUS $2000 a month would allow us to have a great lifestyle, so US $1500 would be equivalent. You could live on less though if you were more frugal and single.

    • @christinaclesca1384
      @christinaclesca1384  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can definitely live on less especially if you live alone, actually Ralph made a video on our cost of living last year and it was much cheaper than this year. However after the 2020, we realized how important it is to enjoy living here to the fullest so we decided to have more hobbies which brought our cost of living up a bit.
