I don't think this figure is terrible. The beast mode is just awesome! The robot mode have just the same awesomeness! As the old saying, "Never judge a book by it's cover".
honestly yes and the transformation is cool but for me i just don't like his design as a whole. i don't like beast machines series too because my favorite rattrap don't look cool to me. but it's just my taste. happy to see some people like it and i don't discredit anything. like i said it's not just my taste.
The rat mode looks really show-accurate. The robot mode, not so much. It's really funny that Rattrap's transformation starts at the rat's butt, and quite frankly, I don't think Rattrap gives a rat's ass.
Funny thing is I thought Rattrap's silly BM design would make a fun OC for me to photoshop since in my unpopular and controversial opinion, I was a sucker for robots with wheels for legs lol.
I collected from late '99 through '08 and took a break. Watching your videos has been a walk down memory lane, especially since my figures were lost in moves (to be honest, I just didn't care about them enough to find storage, something I now regret. It also didn't help that while I have boys, they never were really into Transformers.). I remember desperately wanting this figure since he was in a later wave and all of the other 1st season characters had been out for a while. In fact, I'm pretty sure he came out the same time Blast Punch Optimus did. The biggest problem was that the characters "morphed" on the show and actually had to physically transform on the show. While animators can take some liberties with the transformation, usually they stay somewhat close to the toy (if it's available at the time). The second problem is that the toys are way off on the show size classes. Sigh.
the transformation for me is really cool in terms of transformation but i really don't like this version of rattrap even in the series. he looks awkward to me
I saw this figure at a used toy store recently. I think it looks a lot better in person, and I always liked all the technorganic Maximals. I might just pick him up.
It's kinda like the Jetstorm drone and Thrust, they are there purely so the toy can stand on it's own, while in the show, they didn't need them because Jetstorm and his drones flew, and undoubtedly Thrust and Rattrap had brakes to stop them falling over.
Allow me to disagree. This figure is FREAKING COOL! Great beast mode and the bot mode is PERFECT. Also, fun gimmicks. Too bad it's just on Ebay now and shipping prices just kill the deal. Oh well, I'll keep an eye open for this one.
Maybe I'm odd but I really like this figure. Ii find it better than some of the other Beast Machines figures. It was a decent figure based on a horrid show.
Damn it Rattrap, your Transmetal racer-mouse form was good already in Beast Wars. Heck, you even tripped Megatron with it. What drove you into thinking that it's going to work as well in robot mode with wheels for legs?
I wanted to hate this figure when I got it, but I didn't. In fact, I didn't really hate any of the Beast Machines figures. I actually kind of like this figure, and I hated Beast machines as a show.
I have grown to accept the Beast Machines series after watching the episodes again once I got older. I have not grown to accept the toy line. Kahlua is also delicious.
Moving his tail/head like that he looked like Stevie Wonder performing, fitting since he's the only one who thought Beast Machines designs looked good.
i had this figure as one of the many, many beast wars/beast machines figure is had when i was little.. i really like this figure and if it was cheap to get him i'd definitely pick him up today
i actually it quite a bit, though given how small he was supposed to be in the series(yeah one could say the same about that huge waste of plastic nightscream was) i wish they made an smaller version, at this point, the closest thing we will ever get is that comic only repaint of prime rumble,, XP although it would be a good exclusive, i like the coloros, damn even a generations rattrap repaint would work for me
I like this figures because it can hide the rat head, so when it transform to robot, it become robot in disguise. But I hate its open spinal cord, just as if the rat has opened wounds.
It wasn't a bad toy. But the size scale was terrible for all of them. Primal should have been a mega or order Siverbolt, Botanica, and Cheetor should have been voyager Rattrap and Night Scream should have been deluxe Hasbro had NO IDEA what they were doing with this line
Dumbest?!?! Depends on who you ask!! I personally would like to see an updated version of "Black-Aracnia", as well as both this one, & the new Cheetor!!!! I had an awesome "Black-Aracnia" back in the early 2000's...!!!! Both Blk-Widow & Fem-Bot modes were (cartoon-accurate!!!!)
I wonder if it would look better in brown or black instead of green. Also can't unsee the fact that the robot head directly visible where his animal crotch is. Like Silverbolt...were they on drugs?
... In Beast Mode, Rattrap's 'bot head is by his bum. That is so wrong. Rattrap's design was one of the big fails (as opposed to the smaller ones) of Beast Machines. Given that his beast mode had unusually dexterous hands for a "rat", he might as well have had a vehicle mode instead.
"...we're taking a look at one of the dumbest figures ever created." Dis Gon B Gud! In all honesty, this figure doesn't look that bad to me. The rat mode looks AWESOME. And yeah, the robot mode's pretty odd looking, but after some of the shit we got in the movie line (Arcee and her Scoliosis Sisters), I'm willing to overlook this. I mean, it's not my new holy grail or anything, but I'll pick it up on a whim if I see it at a flea market or something,
To me he is okay i like him yes he isn't better than the other 2 versions of him but to me he looks better than in the show so if i see him i'd buy em.
Ok, so this opinion might sound abit controversial since in my unpopular opinion I'm kinda neutral over the show but was fond of the toyline because of the Vehicons but does anyone wanna know something funny? I kinda thought Rattrap's silly Beast Machines design would make another fun OC for me since I was always a sucker for robots with wheels for legs lol.
I don't know if the problems get sorted out give it a darker more evil color like black silver and purple stick a predicon or a disepticon logo and a new name like Rabid Fang or Verminator and you would have a damn good new bad guy.
Yeah i don't know what they were thinking of with this line they had suck a cool thing going with the three toy lines of beast wars and then we get this shit.
i hope hashbro do another version of this. I just got the rattrap by hashbro first season, OOOOHHHHHH it looks wayyy better than the old one. And for the first time, really look like rattrap
i actually like this figure despite of its flaws.. i have only one thing i cant move on when he first transform in the show i like his beast wars head/face than his beast machines head i expect that when they were reformatted they will have new head/face...eh its just me but i like this figure
"How many want a life-sized transforming rat?"
Those that have a life-sized transforming cat?
Who wants a life-sized transforming rat with wheels for legs
Me
@@TURBOMAN-56 A life-sized transforming cat? Sure, as long as it’s a Predacon.
(Yes, Ravage, I’m looking at you.)
I don't think this figure is terrible. The beast mode is just awesome! The robot mode have just the same awesomeness! As the old saying, "Never judge a book by it's cover".
Be Random2000 i agree
I agree
honestly yes and the transformation is cool but for me i just don't like his design as a whole. i don't like beast machines series too because my favorite rattrap don't look cool to me. but it's just my taste. happy to see some people like it and i don't discredit anything. like i said it's not just my taste.
same.
Is this figure Plastic Addict worthy or does it warrant a Random Review if TJOmega has it?
Confound those Beast Machines! Confound them! They drive me to drink!
-Baltmatrix, probably
The rat mode looks really show-accurate. The robot mode, not so much. It's really funny that Rattrap's transformation starts at the rat's butt, and quite frankly, I don't think Rattrap gives a rat's ass.
I agree, this toy is show accurate in rat mode and this thing looks soooo dumb...
irado
You really made him the.... butt of the joke with....shat one....
I’ll see myself out.
Funny thing is I thought Rattrap's silly BM design would make a fun OC for me to photoshop since in my unpopular and controversial opinion, I was a sucker for robots with wheels for legs lol.

Ratrap was a lot cooler in beast wars
Yeah
yeah.
the transformation for me is really cool in terms of transformation but i really don't like this version of rattrap even in the series. he looks awkward to me
You could say that again
His design was less horrifying too.
I saw this figure at a used toy store recently. I think it looks a lot better in person, and I always liked all the technorganic Maximals. I might just pick him up.
He had them in the show. Probably to serve as a progression of his wheeled vehicle mode on his Transmetal body.
It's kinda like the Jetstorm drone and Thrust, they are there purely so the toy can stand on it's own, while in the show, they didn't need them because Jetstorm and his drones flew, and undoubtedly Thrust and Rattrap had brakes to stop them falling over.
Between the rat alternate mode and the hunch back and the face, he reminds me of Peter Pettigrew from Harry Potter!
Well, at least he's about perfect to be customized into IDW's Jhiaxus...
Dude. That could be AWESOME if handled properly.
The difference between you and me. I'm a big fan of Beast Wars/Beast Machines and Rattrap is my favorite so I love it.
Allow me to disagree. This figure is FREAKING COOL! Great beast mode and the bot mode is PERFECT. Also, fun gimmicks.
Too bad it's just on Ebay now and shipping prices just kill the deal. Oh well, I'll keep an eye open for this one.
ratrap never realized he had legs or he thought the wheels were cooler
What I don't like about this is it's not show accurate. Rattrap has wheels not legs
Yeah, I was about to say that! He never walked in robot mode!
To be honest the beast most isn't a that bad the robot mode is actual trash
Rattrap's face looks like a vehicon punched it really hard making it flat.
I loved Ratrap, Then he turned into this.
It's hilarious I thought "Wait why wasn't Dinobot in Beast Machines? Oh right he's dead." On Rattrap, one of the Maximals closest to Dinobot?
Beast Wars Rattrap was awesome, but Beast Machines Rattrap is just sad.
Rattrap transmetal > Rattrap transformer >.....rattrap beast machine
Beast machines in general was trash compared to Beast Wars
Jack Fowler i like it
At first I thought this was uploaded by TJOmega, TH-cam has been recommending his content a lot recently.
I'm glad that rattrap took rhinox's place as the brain's of the bunch
Rat mode? yes. definitely good.
the robot looks like something out of a sparkplug entertainment movie.
"Its dumb" sums up Beast Machines and its toys in general
Maybe I'm odd but I really like this figure. Ii find it better than some of the other Beast Machines figures. It was a decent figure based on a horrid show.
TF generations rattrap > this
I always liked this figure. He's neat looking.
9_Bucks I like him too
9_Bucks I like him too
I loved that figured to death. His transport mode was awesome.
Damn it Rattrap, your Transmetal racer-mouse form was good already in Beast Wars. Heck, you even tripped Megatron with it. What drove you into thinking that it's going to work as well in robot mode with wheels for legs?
Blame the Oracle. It apparently has a twisted sense of humor.
I wanted to hate this figure when I got it, but I didn't. In fact, I didn't really hate any of the Beast Machines figures. I actually kind of like this figure, and I hated Beast machines as a show.
The first Beast wars figure to have Visible head Syndrome
I remember the Mac Donald’s happy meal toy Rattrap looking better. One major issue is the size, he was way to big.
I have grown to accept the Beast Machines series after watching the episodes again once I got older. I have not grown to accept the toy line.
Kahlua is also delicious.
This video took me by surprise. I never knew they made this figure.
Im actually a fan of Rattrap....I love it I didnt know they had this now im going to look for it ...thanks
Because Rattrap and a few others like the tank and motorcycle drones were actually made after the show had aired.
Moving his tail/head like that he looked like Stevie Wonder performing, fitting since he's the only one who thought Beast Machines designs looked good.
Sick burn, dudebro.
i had this figure as one of the many, many beast wars/beast machines figure is had when i was little.. i really like this figure and if it was cheap to get him i'd definitely pick him up today
Beast machines rattrap. We're all gonna die
Come on! I see this as the first step for 1:1 scale transformers!
Soon we'll have a 1:1 scale BB and OP. Even Dinobots!
One of these days we’ll be living in a life sized Metroplex!
Wow that face definitely doesn’t give you nightmares
What an appropriate place for the robot mode's head.
If it had been a basic class, it probably wouldn’t have been as bad. Especially if he could have had just the wheels for feet.
I'm watching Beast Machines not and this toy other than the legs looks darn good and like how he does on the show. Kind of wish I had it
It looks like all your toys are victims of torture
Funny menchen walmart i pick him up for $3 on clearence back in the day
i actually it quite a bit, though given how small he was supposed to be in the series(yeah one could say the same about that huge waste of plastic nightscream was) i wish they made an smaller version, at this point, the closest thing we will ever get is that comic only repaint of prime rumble,, XP although it would be a good exclusive, i like the coloros, damn even a generations rattrap repaint would work for me

It wasn't a bad toy. But the size scale was terrible for all of them. Primal should have been a mega or order
Siverbolt, Botanica, and Cheetor should have been voyager
Rattrap and Night Scream should have been deluxe
Hasbro had NO IDEA what they were doing with this line
I had this as a child.
I'd also wager that those (such as I) who were kids enjoying the show wanted this figure. I loved the beast machines line.
Awh memories I hated that figure loved the tail for some awkward reason it was super pose able
I always though that the designs were ugly but I have to admit that the figures are looking somewere good. Not for all of them tho
Dumbest?!?! Depends on who you ask!! I personally would like to see an updated version of "Black-Aracnia", as well as both this one, & the new Cheetor!!!! I had an awesome "Black-Aracnia" back in the early 2000's...!!!! Both Blk-Widow & Fem-Bot modes were (cartoon-accurate!!!!)
going to a toy fair this weekend so i might get this for my cats to play with
I wonder if it would look better in brown or black instead of green. Also can't unsee the fact that the robot head directly visible where his animal crotch is. Like Silverbolt...were they on drugs?
i loved this guy
...
In Beast Mode, Rattrap's 'bot head is by his bum. That is so wrong.

"NO IT ISNT"
I lost it at that part, that was great.
It's got the basic outline of a Mirelurk from Fallout 3.
Probably my most favorite transformer next to the transmetals rattrap
considering there was an episode about how crappy this form was tells you something.
Fucking Jetstrom fan
last i knew in teh beast Machines series Rattrap never even had legs he always had wheels
I love this guy in his robot mode
Rattrap actually had legs in the Universe (2003) comics rather than in the cartoon.
I had this figure when I was younger.
To me he is okay i like him yes he isn't better than the other 2 versions of him but to me he looks better than in the show so if i see him i'd buy em.
I loved this as a kid. my friend and i would take of the wheels and use them as beyblades.
Let's just be glad Botanica didn't get a toy. That would have been horrifying.
I don't know if the problems get sorted out give it a darker more evil color like black silver and purple stick a predicon or a disepticon logo and a new name like Rabid Fang or Verminator and you would have a damn good new bad guy.
I prefer Transmetal Rattrap. Heck I have the action figure,
a favorite beast figure
If I had two of this version of rattraps, I would use it for parts to make a custom lol
Yeah i don't know what they were thinking of with this line they had suck a cool thing going with the three toy lines of beast wars and then we get this shit.
Idc if I'm in 2021 this is good!
I think everyone complains way to much about beast wars and beast machines
He could never knee a vehicon, he had no feet in the show.
i got this toy and and he is not bad for a beast wars maximal toy and i wonder how much spada will like beast machines megatron
i must be one of those rare people that really want to own this figure...
...that thing is so off...but it's understandable cause the beast machine toys might have been tricky to create
i forgot how special beast machines was.
ok I'm deffinatly keeping an eye out for this guy, just the head gimic alone is right up my ally xD
still it sounds very good
the tail on the toy is wrong there was a cone shaped plug the tip on the show he also did not use his tail as a whip
It's supposed to look more alien than human...I like the differences of looks in al of the Transformers...
unfortunately my McDonalds version of this toy is currently missing in action
Wait wait..... hold up.... beat machines rattrap robot mode didnt have legs. Only wheels.
This Rattrap was my Fav!
i hope hashbro do another version of this. I just got the rattrap by hashbro first season, OOOOHHHHHH it looks wayyy better than the old one. And for the first time, really look like rattrap
The show was the best transformers show, for me. I liked the toyline in some aspects, but i loved the show.
did he ever get legs in the series?
No.
I AM TRANSFORMED!
Thankyou james
i actually like this figure despite of its flaws.. i have only one thing i cant move on when he first transform in the show i like his beast wars head/face than his beast machines head i expect that when they were reformatted they will have new head/face...eh its just me but i like this figure
It looks awsome
I... don't even.. I wish Hasbro could go back to Beast Wars...
normally, I meant. stop with the car-formers and have more beast-formers
He looks like a sentai mecha. Like something from gaoranger.
I really like the beast mode but what the hell is up with that robot mode?
