As a big fan of bloodborne and sculpting videos, there’s not a lot of overlap there on TH-cam. So I was quite pleasantly surprised seeing this thumbnail in my subscriptions. It turned out great. Love your work and love that you show how difficult the process can actually be
A tip to make the clothing look more 'worn'. Have some areas more saturated and pigmented, especially in areas that don't move or have a lot of tension. If you look at old and worn clothing, you'll see that some places still have more dye and those are always areas that don't get a lot of motion or friction. And yes, the hardest things to do in any visual art are the simple ones because of the precision. Details are easy but getting the fundamentals right is such an integral part that it needs to be done. One of my college profressors said "it doesn't matter how much detail you add or how amazing your rendering is. If the basic anatomy or composition is off, viewers will see it."
Because of you, I started learning how to sculpt while watching your videos. You are one of the best sculptors on TH-cam for sure!! I was so worried when you disappeared for so long... But now that you are back, YAY!! Love all your work and your skills, love the way you narrate through your sculpting journey!
Bloodborne is still my favorite game to ever exist. If it ever gets a pc port, Itll be like playing it again for the first time, gaming through mouse and keyboard vs controller. Sick sculpture.

I really think you should look into doing molds of these!! I think it would be neat for you to be able to “save” your sculptures since the clay you use can’t be cured.

This looks insane! As a miniature painter who dabbled in Bloodborne models before, I can tell you, your skills are amazing! Would 100% paint a model of this!
My guy deserves more confidence. A lot of self criticism like "I know that this pikachu isn't perfect". It's cool to be a perfectionist but I think most people understands that one can only do ones best, and obviously this dude is pushing himself and experiments a lot. Better then 99% of sculptors on youtube. It's art. It's by definition a waste of time.
I totally understand the purist approach in keeping the asthetic flowing nature of the material running from the base to the figures, and personnally i think you made the right choice. It's a beautiful piece and good to see you back.

First things first: No time spent learning or (hopefully) having fun is time wasted! Secondly: I'd say you're right, sharing the process and pointing out the flaws and mistakes made along the way makes for a more interesting video than continuously patting yourself on the back for a job well done. Though I live for that big smile that creeps over your face whenever you look at a fully assembled sculpture for the first time (on camera). I actually tried mixing normal clay with paraffin and it almost works like Monsterclay. And believe me, I'm getting more and more serious about my projects, and looking at you have inspired me to keep moving forward to be able to make my own characters, even though I don't have a lot of tools and I end up making my own tools. But it's really refreshing looking the passion you put on your work, I hope one day to achieve the level that you have.

First time seeing you and your work, and all I can say is “YOU ARE AMAZING” and “SO IS YOUR WORK!” Just a question, are you OCD, because It breaks my heart to hear you question your work or abilities when you are so obviously super talented and gifted. The reason I ask if you’re OCD, is because my cousin like you is super artistic and gifted. Every time he starts a project he constantly questions himself his abilities and the work he is doing. It truly is beautiful work that he does and I can’t tell you how many times he’s destroyed his work because he feels it’s not perfect enough. He was clinically diagnosed with OCD, and when I was listening to you I felt like I was listening to him. Please believe me OCD or not, you and your work are FABULOUS! I am now a big fan of yours! It's about overcoming all obstacles and learning at all times. I love hearing how great of a challenge this was for you and how you ended up being forced to learn and grow as an artist in the process. It's very Bloodborne, if I say so myself.
Hearing you lament your stubbornness in making the whole thing out of clay really reminded me of the stubbornness it takes to slam through some bosses in From Software games, so in a way, it was thematically appropriate.
I really like this idea of putting two different types of game style characters together. The contrast makes this artwork dramatic, and it's a good piece of work. I learned something.

Much like sculpting (I think, I don't sculpt) painting is easily fixable at almost every stage. You can always change colors, lighten up, or darken. It's an issue I have too. I'm so concerned about the longevity of this piece, considering it's an epic work of art!! I loved the silver touch to the Hunter's eyes, considering how most of the beasts in Yharnam (especially the wolves) have silver eyes 😍I love the end result so much!!
I’m a tattoo artist and I hear myself say the same things as you. So hyper critical of yourself, but then I also hear my clients in myself when watching because when you see all your faults I just see something absolutely incredible. I get why you say what you say, because I do the same thing. But your stuff is unreal
You are really talented homie and need more recognition on the TH-cam platform for it! I see the quality of your sculptures as top tier, and I imagined you had as many subs as like North of the Border and any of those people who hit it huge on TH-cam with sculpting. I think it might be because you are a perfectionist, maybe I'm overanalyzing, but your pieces really come out way better than you ever give yourself credit because you are so critical of yourself and always fixing and bettering your works. It seems to take more time than those channels that pump out tons of kinda mid quality sculptures compared to how top tier yours come out as with your dedication.. Whatever it is, whether I'm right on the money, overthinking it or somewhere in the middle, keep up what you are doing. You really have a mindset of dedication to always improving your craft. If you never see yourself as "good enough" at your craft, you will never stop improving!
A while back I searched around for how to paint oil clay. The answers I found were ”you can’t” and ”don’t do it”. That looks amazing, how is it holding up?
For painting, you should do a wash, then dry brush the high points with lighter shades, you can do whole large areas, especially on leather parts. I always do both washes and dry brushing
You need more clout dude. You have no idea how validating your honesty is, if not a little self critical, but what artist isn’t. Art and creation isn’t as simple as being told “dude this is absolutely impossibly badass” and actually believing it. It’s truly never something you can really overcome, imposter syndrome is basically written in artists’ code. No matter how many times you take breaks, how many times you re-sketch, or re-sculpt, or re-paint, or restart, sometimes your art just doesn’t look like someone else made it, and it hurts. It’s not something I, or really anyone, can give a solution for. It’s a battle you have to fight on your own, and it doesn’t sound terribly rewarding when the reward is simply being content with it. I’ll always say artists have one of the hardest professions out there, you don’t find the kind of mental challenges anywhere else, and I commend the hell out of those of you who read this. You’re badass, the next step is believing it. Stay safe out there
Great, great ,great ... the greater the artist, the greater the doubt. Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize (Russell Hughes). I like how if things are covered up you detail them anyway and they are hidden by what goes over them.

Absolutely Astounding work. Love how Pikachu is dodge the hunters attack by jumping over it. If you ever do another Bloodborne piece, do some kind of Abraham Lincoln mash up. I main as Lincoln in BB.
LOL well, that stubborness will pay dividends ultimately because of all you learned. All painters know the 'ugly' stage, but getting through that and getting there is a huge learning curve and so worth it, but it doesn't feel like that at the time. Love the movement and details. And OMG his expression! Wow.
Really amazing work! I think it would have looked cooler if the pikachu looked more aggressive (ready to use Thunder bolt or something) and was jumping towards the hunter, really sick piece non the less

Yeah man u should definitely trust yourself more my dude! You're paint job looks great! Just keep working it and believe in the process. Much like sculpting (I think, I don't sculpt) painting is easily fixable at almost every stage. You can always change colors, lighten up, or darken. It's an issue I have too. I think sometimes we're a little too worried about it perfect. I love BB so much and I absolutely adore this piece. You did a great job my guy. Keep on hobbying and FEAR THE OLD BLOOD!

You are really talented homie and need more recognition on the TH-cam platform for it! I see the quality of your sculptures as top tier, and I imagined you had as many subs as like North of the Border and any of those people who hit it huge on TH-cam with sculpting. I think it might be because you are a perfectionist, maybe I'm overanalyzing, but your pieces really come out way better than you ever give yourself credit because you are so critical of yourself and always fixing and bettering your works. It seems to take more time than those channels that pump out tons of kinda mid quality sculptures compared to how top tier yours come out as with your dedication.. Whatever it is, whether I'm right on the money, overthinking it or somewhere in the middle, keep up what you are doing. You really have a mindset of dedication to always improving your craft. If you never see yourself as "good enough" at your craft, you will never stop improving!

A while back I searched around for how to paint oil clay. The answers I found were ”you can’t” and ”don’t do it”.
That looks amazing, how is it holding up?
For painting, you should do a wash, then dry brush the high points with lighter shades, you can do whole large areas, especially on leather parts. I always do both washes and dry brushing

We all make mistakes regardless of skill level and man, you, sir, are *sooo NOT* an amateur!!
You need more clout dude. You have no idea how validating your honesty is, if not a little self critical, but what artist isn’t. Art and creation isn’t as simple as being told “dude this is absolutely impossibly badass” and actually believing it. It’s truly never something you can really overcome, imposter syndrome is basically written in artists’ code. No matter how many times you take breaks, how many times you re-sketch, or re-sculpt, or re-paint, or restart, sometimes your art just doesn’t look like someone else made it, and it hurts. It’s not something I, or really anyone, can give a solution for. It’s a battle you have to fight on your own, and it doesn’t sound terribly rewarding when the reward is simply being content with it. I’ll always say artists have one of the hardest professions out there, you don’t find the kind of mental challenges anywhere else, and I commend the hell out of those of you who read this. You’re badass, the next step is believing it.

Great, great ,great ... the greater the artist, the greater the doubt. Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize (Russell Hughes). I like how if things are covered up you detail them anyway and they are hidden by what goes over them.

LOL well, that stubborness will pay dividends ultimately because of all you learned. All painters know the 'ugly' stage, but getting through that and getting there is a huge learning curve and so worth it, but it doesn't feel like that at the time. Love the movement and details. And OMG his expression! Wow.
Really amazing work! I think it would have looked cooler if the pikachu looked more aggressive (ready to use Thunder bolt or something) and was jumping towards the hunter, really sick piece non the less
