  • So as a first time Flight Attendant I was only given the choice of 3 bases. And at first Detroit was last on my list. But as it turned out I did choose Detroit. Find out why and what interesting benefits I found out by being based in Detroit as a Flight Attendant.

Detroit is my favorite city to visit! I’m considering moving up there !

Yes, that would be a wonderful option. Detroit has a lot to offer. And real estate right now is not as expensive as I imagine it will be in five years. If I were you, I would take advantage and consider it well.
All the best to you. Thanks for the comment, for watching and subscribing.

Detroit is so underrated- the downtown, midtown and Corktown are thriving and a blast - much more than a handful of cities. I was pleasantly surprised

Hey there, Franklin. I couldn’t agree more. I was stunned at how nice the place was. I still go back there when I can. There’s so much to see and do.
Thanks so much for watching and subscribing. Have an amazing day. Talk soon. ☺️

Hi VF. SEA is senior. But be prepared for significantly higher prices. Cost of living index for SEA and LAX is only about 0.1 point difference. Beautiful place but u won’t see much of it due to working. Glad u are having fun. Herman 12:13

Hey there Herman. Thanks so much for the heads up. Yep, pretty expensive. I’m originally from LA so I totally get it.
I did manage to land a good priced crash pad today so I hope that works out.
Thanks so much for watching and subscribing. Talk soon. 😃

@Herman: Yes, Seattle may be a senior Crew Base, but it also has many freshly hired flight attendants based out of there as well. There is vlog from a Delta flight attendant from Ghana (with a beautiful beehive hairdo) who is newly hired and is based out of Seattle. She is over the moon happy about being a flight attendant!! When you say you won't be seeing much due to working, do you mean that the flight attendants based out of Seattle are too busy flying and don't get enough off days? If the cost-of-living is high in Seattle, do the Delta flight attendants earn more there ie cost of living expense??

For genten77. Yes, you have 6 ADAYs a month which is like reserve. Most likely fly or do a sit at airport or hang at home. Them other days, you get some days off, around 12, and get assigned to various rotations the other days. And it tires you, so you need good rest. Re the lady from Ghana, her name is Princilla and is a SUPER person

Thank you for the introduction of Detroit and its airport. You have chosen a best place as your crash pad. With transportation and breakfast services it is the smart choice.

I do have a full tour of the Detroit airport. Coming up very soon. It will be as if you were walking through the airport yourself. I’ll have that later this week. Hope you enjoy it. ☺️

Thank you for your information on base selection. You seem quite mature (older?) than many of the flight attendant vlogs that I see on TH-cam. You are certainly more well versed (educated? certainly higher than the required GED by airlines!!) than many!! Did you have a career before joining the airline industry?

Hello there. Thank you so much for stopping by. Hope you are having a wonderful holiday season.
Yes, I am a bit older, or shall we say more seasoned, ha ha.
I have had several other careers in the past, and I always consider education a huge part of my life. So thank you for noticing.
I hope you are enjoying the information from the channel. I will have more videos coming out in January after the holidays. Thanks again for stopping by. And I wish you a wonderful 2024. Take care. 😁

By the way I enjoyed your tour of Milwaukee!! Next time you go there, try and visit their Cathedrals.... they are exquisite!! Especially the Josefate Cathedral. It is a Polish Cathedral well worth a visit!!

Thank you for watching and for your comment. I’m glad it was helpful. MSP is another pretty cool airport. It also has a tram and is laid out a little bit differently. Lots of shops and restaurants to choose from. Also it is connected to a major hotel. Thanks again for watching and subscribing. Have a wonderful day.😀

@vivit: When selecting a city for relocation as a crew base you MUST keep in mind many factors besides affordability!! You need to keep in mind the economy and growth of the city, its safety record, heath care facilities ie hospitals, urgent care clinics. If the economy of a city is good, there is a very good chance that the quality of life would be good there too and it will also help you find another lucrative job incase to get tired of being an over worked and under paid trolley dolley ie a flight attendant!!

    Hello.
Watching this video makes me feel really good about possibly going to DTW :-) . Just curious are you open to sharing more info on how you found this crash pad at a hotel ???? Sounds much more safer than a regular house/condo…. Thanks again

You probably should have picked Minneapolis. You could get a line faster. Even though, I was born and raised in Detroit.

@lady: Minneapolis may be nice, but race relations in that city have taken a real beating after Georger Floyd incident. It also gets unbearably cold brrrrr in the winter!! and please don't forget taxes in the twin cities are HIGH!!
