I was just thinking that I wished that all talk show interviews were that entertaining.
@@someguy2135 Yeah. There are two types of comedians. First are the good ones. Second are the originals. Newhart, Cleese, Atkinson = the world is a better place because of you.
He played a joke on Johnny once where Johnny would ask him a set up question in order for Bob to tell a story and Bob would respond with a one word answer. Like, “I heard you were recently in Toronto” and Bob would respond, “Yes.” and then just sit there. He did it several times until Johnny just cracked up and laughed and laughed.

I met and talked with him once when I was flying for United. He was a delightful and funny guy privately as well.
I love hearing Conan's real laugh. Its great.
Still alive, married to his first wife who just died, Carson had few friends, Bob was one of them. A total gift and Conan, great job bringing him to front and center

When I heard the beginning of the clock story, I thought the exact opposite--keep pushing the clock ahead. The clock gets to "three minutes to finished", but the producer says "no, you've got ten minutes to go!"

I understand disliking accounting back when he did it, as did I. So I tried something else too. After 20 years flying with the Marines, I went back to accounting and we had PCs. All that I hated about accounting was done by the computer and the creative, design work was all I had to do. It became interesting again.
In the 1950s, he made the equivalent of $32,000 per year. Unemployment in the 1950s paid $27,000 per year. Basically $630 vs. $535 per week.
