@@someguy2135 Yeah. There are two types of comedians. First are the good ones. Second are the originals. Newhart, Cleese, Atkinson = the world is a better place because of you.
Still alive, married to his first wife who just died, Carson had few friends, Bob was one of them. A total gift and Conan, great job bringing him to front and center
He played a joke on Johnny once where Johnny would ask him a set up question in order for Bob to tell a story and Bob would respond with a one word answer. Like, “I heard you were recently in Toronto” and Bob would respond, “Yes.” and then just sit there. He did it several times until Johnny just cracked up and laughed and laughed.
I considered increasing the playback speed, but then I realized that a big part of Bob Newhart's humor is his timing. It was well worth the time spent!
Don't worry peeps -- he's not dead!! I too, just checked. It's the opposite. It's his birthday (91st) today! Pheww! I dunno 'bout you, but I can't take any more death for a while... Oii.
I've been searching for Bob Newhart clips with Conan on Late night for so long! Yay! There's one when Bob talks about subbing in for Johnny Carson that was really funny too, if anyone from Team Coco reads this!
One of my favorite comedians. Thankfully my parents really enjoyed his comedy too and bought a couple of his albums in the 60’s when I was a boy. Listened to them dozens of times. Of course his TV show(s) were part of the great Saturday night lineup of comedies in the early 70’s (All in the Family, Mash, Mary Tyler Moore, and the Bob Newhart Show). Great TV - unsurpassed.
I’m a week late and just saw this and was terrified. Thank all that is good Bob Newhart just celebrated his birthday, whew. He’s the last or one of the last great golden age comedians.
When I heard the beginning of the clock story, I thought the exact opposite--keep pushing the clock ahead. The clock gets to "three minutes to finished", but the producer says "no, you've got ten minutes to go!"
Bob Newhart was my childhood nemesis. Having two brother Daves (and two sister Loris), my life was messed up already... then came along "that is my brother Daryl and my other brother Darrel" came about and then my hate of Bob began.
I understand disliking accounting back when he did it, as did I. So I tried something else too. After 20 years flying with the Marines, I went back to accounting and we had PCs. All that I hated about accounting was done by the computer and the creative, design work was all I had to do. It became interesting again.
Bob's expression of Johnny doing a double take, priceless.
I've never ever been let down by anything Bob has ever done. Including interviews.
I was just thinking that I wished that all talk show interviews were that entertaining.
@@someguy2135 Yeah. There are two types of comedians. First are the good ones. Second are the originals. Newhart, Cleese, Atkinson = the world is a better place because of you.
That's a good way of putting it. He was always funny and made it seem effortless.
this appearance of his sucked shit though. lots of dead air filled with him explaining and doing setups, not much laughter
Happy 91st birthday to Bob Newhart, one of our national treasures.
Still alive, married to his first wife who just died, Carson had few friends, Bob was one of them. A total gift and Conan, great job bringing him to front and center
I met and talked with him once when I was flying for United. He was a delightful and funny guy privately as well.
The last of the great Hollywood gentlemen, talent and class.

Wonderful interview by Conan, Newhart was a real legend, real talent!
If you look back ack Bob Newhart's entire comedy history, he pretty much didnt miss a beat in this interview. Thank you for decades of laughs Bob!
One of the best comedians of all time.
Did anyone else almost have a heart attack and run to Twitter to make sure he was okay?
Bob Newhart is a class act and hilarious comedian!
Bob thanks for the great memories! Especially you and Carson.
Don't worry everyone, it's just his birthday.
Oh, thank goodness!
Glad to see him enjoying another this year!
Yeah...I was wondering...
Not anymore…😢
Genius comedian and great man
Out of all the late night host he seems the most genuine
Newhart was just on Conan the other night...old as dust but still killin'.
Saw that. He is still sharp and so funny!
@@kjmav10135 One thing I love about Bob is that his stuff is so effortless. ;~)
Bob would do a gag and Conan would play along. Real comedy. Brilliant.
Long live Bob Newhart!
Happy Birthday Bob! You’ve still got it! ❤️
hope Bob Newhart
is having a very happy birthday!
A LIVING Legend

I love these two men. Great entertainers.
Was a big fan of his TV show, his droll sence of humor and deadpan delivery had a gigantic influence on later comedy stars.
I feel like bob new heart was born an old man, he looks spot on to what I remember from the 80’s
Bob Newhart is such a classic
I’m a week late and just saw this and was terrified. Thank all that is good Bob Newhart just celebrated his birthday, whew. He’s the last or one of the last great golden age comedians.
god, I was afraid bob had passed away when a clip of him was uploaded out of the blue
same
Check out the Newhart interview on Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend. He's very a live and very hilarious.
Same here.
@@SBb374 A very great conversation indeed
Me too

He and Don Rickles were best friends for 50+ years!
Best duo ever.. just comedic geniuses
Papa elf. Would love to see a skit with Conan as buddy on his lap
R.I.P. Bob🕊️
I think everyone’s going thru and watching everything Newhart
Wishing Bob Newhart a very Happy Birthday! 🎂🎉💕
The best Carson shows are where the monologues didn't go well
Yep, Carson was even funnier when he kept bombing.
"Attention K-Mart shoppers"
We miss you already, Bob. RIP
Ha ha happy Birthday, Bob Newhart! 😁
Happy 91st Birthday!
Proper proper comedy legend!
My mom and dad still have some of his comedy LPs.
Bob is the man.
Comedy Gold was Bob Newhart....Rest in Laughs 📞☎📞
That double-take was awesome!
Love them both
Team Coco: Next time you post a video featuring one of our living legends, please title it "Happy Birthday" or something. 2020 stinks enough. Thanks
I know! I think every old link they share is because someone died! Treat us gentle! At least let us know...
He's alive, everybody!
R.I.

He's also still married - for over 50 years
Bob Newhart ❤
I LOVE Bob!!!
Happy Birthday Bob!
A much needed laugh! Happy belated to Bob!
Rip legend
This interview was hilarious!😂😂😂
Bob Newhart, a national treasure.
newhart always had perfect timing on his delivery's
Are proud to be a part off television today bob?? And the academy???
The Bob Newhart album with the skit about being a security guard's first night on the job with King Kong on the building is comedy gold.
if only Conan and crew had a nightly 1.5 hour talk show!
Legend Bob 👏
Damn! 91 years old!!
Bob Newhart was my childhood nemesis.
Having two brother Daves (and two sister Loris), my life was messed up already... then came along "that is my brother Daryl and my other brother Darrel" came about and then my hate of Bob began.
You scared the living hell out of me. I had to immediately check if he died.
Bob Newhart definitely up there with the comic greats
I love that he's wearing the wide tie and Conans wearing the thinner tie..as it should be
In the 1950s, he made the equivalent of $32,000 per year. Unemployment in the 1950s paid $27,000 per year. Basically $630 vs. $535 per week.
What most people don't realize is that he was actually just killing time there... he was waiting for a... well, a different talk show... to start....
Conan's wife: "Mr. Late Night Host--when you're done taking out the garbage, clean the toilet!"
that was a funny prank :)
I never understood why Bob Newhart was so funny but he just was
4:36 is the Johnny Carson anecdote.
Does anyone know if a clip of the prank is floating around YT? Or the India question?

I had to google him, just in case. I'm glad I did tho.
Happy 91st!
Conan should made a video wishing him a happy birthday
I would really like to see Conan host SNL.
He hosted once, in March 2001.
He's hosted once. I would love to see him host again and bring Smigel, Stark, at. al. back into the writers room with him with the current cast.
He does need to host again, he was great - Moleculo, "THE MOLECULAR MAN!!"
SNL sucks now. Comedy just isn't the same now.
He’s looking sharp for his age. Still funny
My favorite, Bob Newhart. Never saw him bomb.
Don't worry, I'll handle it.
BOB NEWHART EVERYBODY!
Why is Bob Newhart's left sideburn longer than his right sideburn? I love the man and so I am not going to mention his ear lobes.
Boa noite, uma boa entrevista maravilhosa.Adorei o vídeo.
Great story.
Airtight container to celebrate his b-day 👍
First premonition..." accounting"!
I checked too!
