Trump would be "too moderate" under that same perspective, but the fact of him being a NY democrat for 50 years has no bearing because those people do not hold values or character. They have lobbyist "friends" and that's it. So all Mearsheimer would have to do is eschew reform, promote the right brand names and sellout to a few foreign lobbies and he'd be in. Don't even joke as if values and ideals hold any sway in our government, except to the few small minority groups in congress that actually stick up for stuff and then get beat over the head with the propaganda machine immediately afterwards.

Americans, I assume you mean the voters, can't stop it. Our representatives either willingly favor the Israel lobby, or they are afraid they will be targeted and removed by the Israel lobby (witness what happened to Jamal Bowman). The lack of backbones inside the beltway is appalling.

2 - The pain of the dying Palestinians will only become harder and harder to ignore.

Follow the money trail. Israel has been by far the largest foreign receipient of US financial aid, as professor Mearshiemer described for no good reason.
Professo Mearshiemer explained if the elected officials do not support, among other things, the Israel financial aid packag the lobby will get them replaced with another candidate who would. He also ecplains how much US support is vital to Israel's expansionist plans. The only remaining question is: what's in it for those who fund the Israel lobby? I find it hard to imagine these rich people each spends hundreds of millions of dollar "out of "goodness of their hurt. I believe, I believe, one way or another Israel returns the favor plus some more to the members of its lobby for ecpenses. And so is the demonstrated enthusiasm of the lobby fed. I cannot prove tjis but the fact that US financial aid to Israel has been going on for decads is a indication of its viability.
