I love Iceland --- I've been a couple of times. The last time was on the NCL Prima last Fall and I attended "Elf School" and now have a certificate/diploma proclaiming, my distinction of knowing more than most people about Iceland’s hidden realm. It was not a ship excursion, we arranged it ourselves --- it was a really fun, unusual thing to do in Reykjavik!
I also made sure to have a couple of the "best hotdogs in Europe" from Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur
Hot dog stand --- with "the works." I try not to spend too much money on food when I cruise to Iceland because the ship food is, of course, included with the fare .... but I'll HAPPILY buy a couple of $5 hotdogs drowning in remoulade, brown mustard, fresh onions and crispy fried onions!!!!

Hi Ben and David - sorry I haven’t been commenting lately. I’ve been in hospital for the past six weeks ~ with my Multiple Sclerosis and lupus ~ so have spent the last week since being home binge watching your videos. I’m up-to-date now and have just started watching your Iceland cruise ~ the ship looks absolutely stunning and you’re suite is out of this world - I look forward to watching the rest of the video. ~ I’m so pleased you’ve got to go on this cruise before the volcano situation.~ take care, sending love and hugs as always ~ Xxx Xxx.

Hilarious. You must keep David endlessly entertained. Your videos are great and I can imagine you'd be a hoot to travel with. Omg I am so jelly. Iceland is at the very top of my bucket list. We were scheduled on a transatlantic cruise last April, which stopped in Iceland. However, life happens, and we had to cancel. However, now we are looking at flying into Iceland and doing a 14 day cruise around parts of Greenland and Iceland. In addition, my hubby promised 5 days in Iceland too, so it's worth waiting for. April 2026 can't arrive soon enough. Lol It is just stunning. We live in Maine, and it is gorgeous, but. Iceland is just exquisite. I can't wait. Thank you for sharing this. What a magical place. You hiked to a waterfall, and there were only the 2 of you there!!!! How epic is that?? ❤❤❤

I was in Iceland a month ago ( Feb 2024) and had so much fun I want to go back. We did the Golden Circle tour. So we saw geysers, waterfalls, The Secret Lagoon which is a natural hot pool. We also did The Diamond Beach tour and saw a fantastic glacier. People are so friendly. Gullfoss was lovely who you saw it but it stunning when frozen

Great video again! We did a tour with Viking, hitting some of the same ports. Your ship was at some of the same ports when we arrived. One thing about beautiful Iceland is that some towns are 700 people which means they have little infrastructure to conduct tours for 300-1200 passengers. Checking out the smaller cities on your own is probably a better way than using some of the excursions the lines use because they max out of available openings in minutes flat. Rejkjavik was great with great food and friendly people. Being from the US, when handed the tab for two burgers and two beers and the total is 14,000 (krona) your first thought is "I am doomed", but when you do the math, it is only 100 dollars or so, but for two burgers, but the beauty of the country makes it worthwhile.

My husband and I went to Iceland a few years ago with some other family. We stayed in an Air bnb. We rented a van and drove the Golden Circle to Gulfoss and then the south coast to Vik. The scenery is otherworldly. Incredible. Food crazy expensive. Fish and chips with beer for two $75 cdn.
We loved it though. I’d love to cruise around like you guys.

As you say, expensive, but Iceland (Island) has ALWAYS been an expensive destination. Visited by air decades ago (Reykjavik Glacier Tour), and even then the cost of beer was astronomical. Amazing geology though, and amazing Thermal Springs too!

It was lovely to see you two at the Blue Lagoon. I’ve been spending plenty of time watching over the town of Grindavík the last few days fretting over the residents that have had to be evacuated. I also cruised around Iceland (in the opposite direction) on Azamara last July. My cruise also went to the Faroe Islands and the Isle of Skye before ending in Ireland. We visited several of the same ports in Iceland but did different excursions. I went to an art exhibition in Akureyri (did you spot the heart shaped red traffic lights?), saw arctic foxes outside Isafjordur (look at incredible videos of planes landing at the airport), visited the home of Gunnar Gunnarsson inland from Seydisfjordur, and did the Scenic Circle from Reykjavík. I arrived a couple of days early and did a food tour and a walking tour in Reykjavík, which were wonderful. We felt an earthquake on our first night on the ship and there was a volcanic eruption, which you could just about see from the top deck. We too ran into bad weather and actually couldn’t dock at two of our planned ports, which were very exposed. Nevertheless it was a very enjoyable cruise and the food was great. I love small ships because of the personal touches and the fact that you can often dock right in the centre of town, while larger ships have to tender. With the recent volcanic activity in Iceland, the Blue Lagoon has been closed. The town of Grindavík and the geothermal power plant are in danger. However, it’s still safe to visit Iceland and it is a fascinating country with friendly people and so much to see.

Fish shopping for suppah with the chef! Again, that is EPIC! While it's not as cold in Maine as Iceland, I don't find 40 ° F uncomfortable at all. Lol. That is perfect fall and spring weather! We were in Iceland 🇮🇸 in July, too! The weather was spectacular! We spent a week there after two weeks on a cruise 🚢 throughout Scandinavia. And, yes, the prices of food (great quality though) were through the roof. A glass of simple rosé (my preference) was about $20 USD. However, it was a great week. We also went to the Blue Lagoon. Sorry that the weather didn't work out for you, we were there at the end of June/ beginning of July in 2022 and got so lucky, it was 17 degrees when we were in Reykjavik. Akureyri (pronounces Ack-u-airy) was beautiful. I need more time to go back. It's the most northerly port in Iceland, but unfortunately it's still quite a drive from many highlights (Arctic Henge). I hope you get to go back and experience better weather.

When we cruise, we take a couple of portable chargers with us so we can charge our phones on the night stand next to the bed. And we charge the other portable charger over night so we can carry it while on shore.

Hello Ben. Hello David. After watching the Patreon version earlier this week, Iceland is officially on our bucket list. Am worried about all the quakes and pending volcano eruption though. Hope things settle down up there soon. Love you both!! Keep up the good work!

We nearly chose Iceland for next year, you went just in time by the looks of the volcano possible eruption and seeing Blue Pool is closed at the moment
