- Instructions on how I made my own Nugget Bucket. ✷ Part list below. ✷ Classify and capture gold while you are concentrating the material, allows you to pan less. This one has two ketch containers to prevent any gold loss. Uses Fluid bed style technology and gravity to cause the gold to stay in the ketch container while lighter materials wash out.

I have already filmed some of my testings with it and am probably about to go do one more test and do some footage from it too. Then I will try to find some time to piece them all together and get it posted for you guys! :)
I might try to get some footage of me using it, classifying it down to under 1/8" material too, (sort of how the original one does it) so you can see how that performs too. You definitely have higher gold retention classifying it down further, but with the 2nd collection tray I added I think it usually ketches the small gold that can sometimes blow out of the 1st collection bowl when you only classify down to a 1/4"

Great build. I found that the opening to my funnel was to large and created to much velocity and washing gold out of the concentration bowl. I can't wait to see some footage of you using it at the creek.
Yea that is what happened on my first testing with just the beer funnel by itself. That is why I added a little funnel to it. Right now the hole is around a 1/2" exit from the funnel. I was trying to get it where it would not blow out material but It would still allow 1/4" classified material to flow through it.
Yep trying to get some footage up of me testing it. I think I need to find a new spot to test, I believe my floating hand dredge sluice I made, cleaned out all the gold in the area I had been using for testing stuff at lately. But it usually has at least some gold in the ketch container along with lots of lead every time I test it.

Try putting some rocks in the catch bowl..little ones like 1 onch round.. Just cover the bottom with them..
It creates spots for the gold to get stuck so it doesnt wash out..
Thats what the instructions say for the actual nugget bucket..

I agree. I use cut out a bit of miners moss and then put some small rocks on top of it to keep it from floating. the rocks and the moss trap the gold down at the bottom of the container.
It's all great that you built your own gold rush bucket... But the total cost of this venture was around "$170.00 " I will buy the premade one If I look at more listings on amazon or e-Bay I can get a really good deal for around $99.00
Yea Eric, that is totally understandable and a good idea. A big reason why I opted for making my own, was I was trying to make it work without classifying bellow a 1/4", and the regular nugget bucket didn't do that.
I Agree with Joe S.Nothing wrong with building your own but There are pantent laws whenit comes to copying..Just saying.Mcbain.
Mcbain that is what this video was, it was a "free" video showing how I made my "own" nugget bucket. It is not like I am setting up shop and mass producing these trying to sell them as my own idea. I just took his concept, improved upon it and made a version I felt better suited my needs and shared a video on how I made it. I never seen or used a real Nugget bucket besides what was made publicly available already. Anyone can tell just by looking at his product that it is basically just a bucket and a funnel. I am not sure how I disclosed anything more than that with this video.
The only part of the nugget bucket thats actually patented.. Is thier wierd shaped funnel that sits in the bucket..
Everyrhing else the company bought from someone else and assembeled it in the kit..
So the company takes other peoples stuff and makes money on it too..
Whats wrong with saving some dough and making your own... As long as hes not making the same funnel they have a patent on and selling them

Thanks again for the comments. Glad you found some use out of the video. I have used it quite a bit and it works well, you just have to make sure to add the little funnel inside the big one to reduce flow into the ketch container. One add on I would like to do is make a continued gravity water flow so you do not have to keep dumping buckets of water into it.
So, steal someone's ideas, cobble together something from a selection of store bought "similar items" that might work, sort of like the original. Then go on youtube and pump up "Your Idea", and how everyone can run out and, hopefully, somehow find the random parts you found and VIOLA! There you are - a stolen idea that might (or more probably will not) work sort of like "the original".
The best idea? Don't steal other's ideas and then take them to youtube.

I'm sorry you feel that way Joe. I wasn't trying to "steal" anyone's idea and say it was mine. I liked his idea but i didn't want to spend $110-$130 dollars on it, so I decided to make my own for about $45-50 since I had classifiers and some of the other parts already. I also wanted to only classify down to an 1/4" and his did not do that function, so I made one that did. I made a video because I thought other people would find value in what I came up with and might want to make their own too.
I gave credit to the original designer, in fact I have a link to his product right in the description, in case people didn't want to make their own. I also put links in the description where you could find all the parts to make it or at least know what I used to make it.
So far I think it works great. I'll put some videos up of me testing it in case you want to make your own some day too. :)

Have you ever even seen what the actual nugget bucket comes with...
The only thing the company came up with is the weird funnel that goes in the bucket..
Everything else was made by someone else...

The only thing he could "steal" is the design for the funnel they have a patent on..

Buying a regular funnel and sticking it in a bucket isnt stealing anything lol
