I agree! I sold my old GTR for $75k. I'd take a 10 year old GTR over this. Or a brand new M2 for the same price. Nismo is great, just don't understand price
Car and Driver tested the M2 and the Nismo Z on track. They found the Nismo quicker. Other reviewers have also stated that the Nismo can be had for a couple grand less than MSRP. The M2 will no longer offer the manual next year. And the average sale price for a M2 is around 8 to 10k more than the Nismo Z.
You can get a lot for the money, the problem is the price and the interior, I’d take a Supra and m2 over this, and I know these cars are different but I’d take an S4 or a ct4 blackwing and for cheaper than all of these just give me the m240i over the z
@@andrewcaron1Probably depends on your dealer. My dealer sells a ton of M2’s. All MSRP. I built one for $65k. The Nismo is about $1k more and there’s barely any available. However I’ve seen some people say they got $3k off a Nismo. But M2’s are easy to buy at sticker
@BrosFOURRSpeed I think Nissan understood relatively few of these would be produced and sold. So the price of development had to be spread to fewer units. Maybe this beauty will be a rare car someday.
No manual is faster than an auto, but it’s more fun to drive and would appeal to more people. Plenty of other options offer manuals so a big miss not offering it.
The majority of all the vehicle's I have owned have been manuals. I prefer a good auto especially in traffic and at traffic lights. Manuals can be a big hassle sometimes. I've heard Nissan is testing a Z with a manual in Japan. Maybe just a rumor.
Hopefully they bring the manual to the Nismo especially since they have it on the rest of the Z lineup. But so far about 50% of Z sales have been manual. So there is certainly demand. At least this auto is good. Way better then the Z Performance auto tuning
There's such a HUGE difference in price. I'd have to go to M2 or Supra. The Mustang when discounts start, which should be soon. But the Supra has the leg up on the Z in a lot of ways: Manual transmission Adjustable suspension Active exhaust Modern chassis Better interior Better quality altogether Heads up display Driving modes The ZF transmission. Steering adjustments Nissan is trying to sell a 2003 350z with an upgraded interior and turbos for 70k.
Absolutely! Hard to buy the Nismo when an M2 can actually be spec'd cheaper. My Supra was about $8k less then this Z and I have a manual. So we'll see what depreciation does to these
I went to a Nissan dealership today and had a look at a black Nismo Z. It's a very beautiful car, but 54k was already on the edge of my budget, 70k for a 2 seater? I just can't do it, really thinking of going front wheel drive on my next purchase or a used Lexus RC F, possibly an Integra Type S or a Civic Type R. Nissan priced me out, stinks too because I really love the Z's, my 370 is running great, but these crazy prices even with the ITS and CTR are a hinderance, but at least the RC F has some back seats, and the honda and acura have 4 doors.
I had a 2016 Nismo too lol. This is definitely faster wit the twin turbo engine. Handles a tad better I'd say and the nicer screens. That's about it. It's not really much different of a car aside from the new engine. I don't think I would rush to sell your 2018. Especially if yours is a manual
65k dollar is just outrageous. This is not a 65k dollar car. It shouldn't be a 65k dollar car. I feel like the whole world is price gouging everything. I wont be buying a nismo that is for sure.
It definitely does. We did this road with the camera on the back of the car to hear the exhaust and you don't hear that. It's fake sounds. th-cam.com/video/99uOGYmlzd0/w-d-xo.html
I think I'd buy a Z performance when discounts come in, add coilovers, an exhaust, upgrade the clutch, and air intake. This car is a hard car to swallow at even 54k ish. This is a 40k car inflated like crazy !
Yeah hopefully depreciation hits these. I'd like to get a Z, but just not at their MSRP. Way too much money when the Supra is much better. Or an M2 at the same price as the Nismo
Ok... While we love supporting our troops, this is a car review. So when looking at the Nismo Z, it's hard to justify the price. When you can spend the same money on a BMW M2 which is significantly better of a car. Or spend thousands less on a MK5 Supra and get a manual and still a better car. We are in the car review space, so we are talking about cars
@@BrosFOURRSpeed its a RWD VR30 at end of day. ive first hand watched a stock Q50 gap one of these. They overpriced and nothing special. supra should cost 60-65k and the Z should cost 40k
Wow! Big step up from the standard Z performance. Interesting and kinda crazy!
Yeah totally different car! Lots of fun to drive!
The problem isn't the performance, it's the price. You can buy a used R35 GT-R for what the dealership is asking for.

@@dnice362Yeah it’s a fun car. But hard to spend $70k out the door on a 370 interior
I still enoy driving my stock 2006 350z after all these years. No complaints.
Sweet! They are all fun!
I can't vibe with that price either but on the flipside, that mountain drive looked like it was a blast!
We had some fun! Definitely a cool car!
Great video!
Thanks!

You wouldn't think it would be that expensive with Nissan reaching into their parts bin and re-using so many parts from the old Z or other stuff.
Yeah it's hard to understand the cost. Fun car for sure. But I wish it was Supra pricing
Shop around bet by years' end better deals to be had.
@BrosFOURRSpeed I think Nissan understood relatively few of these would be produced and sold. So the price of development had to be spread to fewer units. Maybe this beauty will be a rare car someday.
nissan needs to put out a nismo tune for the performance 9at. its good but a tune would make it so great
This is tuned over the Performance Z. Fun car overall
I believe Nissan have said that the manual Nismo wouldn’t be as fast as a standard auto Z…. their reason for not bringing it to market.
No manual is faster than an auto, but it’s more fun to drive and would appeal to more people. Plenty of other options offer manuals so a big miss not offering it.

Just make own Nismo version or better on z Performance or sport !
You could probably do a lot with coilovers and some tuning. New seats would cost a bit for nice ones. Really wish the whole Z line was cheaper

The M2 is so much better for $65,000 . Supra is also much better for less money
If you buy M2 you need very dark sunglasses to look at it.
Yeah the M2 is a great car! And the Supra is a bargain next to this

legit just an over priced Q50
Not quite. But certainly too much for what it is. Should be the same price as a Supra
