    We find joy in our nation for various reasons: Education is freely accessible, children receive complimentary meals, healthcare is affordable, our infrastructure is stable, our political system is remarkable, granting us freedom. Adults enjoy reasonable working hours, five weeks of annual leave, and fair wages. Also, if you have a baby, you get 16 months off work (paid as normally), and our working culture is generally incredible. Despite paying taxes, all these contributions ensure our quality of life, also including safe roads and minimal traffic accidents, soo much more. While we acknowledge imperfections, our government's commitment makes our country one of the best.
    As for outsiders, they might perceive Sweden differently due to factors like winter weather and the higher cost of living. While winters can be gray, Swedes adapt, and the reality is that it isn’t so bad, and we often experience sunshine over four times a week during winter. (It has been sunny for almost a month where I live) Our people might be seen as cold and anti social, but the reality is that it is a norm that we don't randomly talk to strangers for no good reason. It doesn't make us cold or unfriendly in anyway. Go to a supermarket in let's say Greece, then Sweden, the greek employees tend to don't care and are rather unfriendly, while Swedes are always friendly. Lastly, the expense might make it less appealing to visitors, understanding why they may not favor our country.

    After seeing all the comments, why do people hate Sweden so much? After living here for 20 years, I must say it’s nothing but an incredible country. Yall must be ignorant or jealous.

    In Finland we call Swedes "Hannu Hanhi" (Donald Ducks lucky cousing whose name I do not know in English) because they are so much luckier than us. They always get mentioned in foreign news even though in this case Finland is happier than Sweden.

    One of the striking things in this video is how much people mention food. It’s true that Swedish food is more regulated and less industrialized than food in the United States, but it’s hardly healthy. Lots of salt, cream, butter, preserved red meat, and simple carbs in Swedish cuisine. Not to mention all the candy! Swedes have much lower vegetable consumption than the European average, too.
    Health isn’t the same as (conventional) attractiveness, but a Mediterranean diet would be much better for making “good-looking people.”

      A comfortable environment is the first sign of degradation. In laboratory mice fed without physical and mental stress, the process of degradation and degeneration begins already in the third generation: obesity, mental retardation, cease to monitor their physical attractiveness (not cleaning) and cease to be interested in the opposite sex, decreased immunity and infectious diseases. In order to stop the degradation process, it is necessary to fight for survival: travel long distances, explore new unknown territories, fight against aggressive environmental nature and compete with hostile populations. The population should expand, explore new territories and include new genes (10% in every next generation).

    Every single girl said health care. This is not the biggest reason, far from it! In our lifes we are healthy 99% of the time and don't even come in contact with health care. Heck, some people never use health care in their whole lifes.
    And the health care is not free, you are paying for it with very very high taxes.

    • @geoffreygreene
      @geoffreygreene 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Healthcare is definitely a factor in attractiveness. If you suffer poor healthcare access, you can enter a spiral of health problems that cause you to look much less conventionally attractive. A lack of access to healthcare certainly isn’t the only or even necessarily the main reason that Americans are very overweight, disabled, suffering from shortened health spans and premature aging, etc., but it does play a significant role.

      The taxes are not very high, and it´s already drawn when we got our paycheck, so we don´t think about it. The "high" part of the taxes is only kicking in if you are really well payed, and then it´s the higher part of the salary that have the higher tax, not all of it. The big mistake is that people in other countries think that the high taxes is paid by everyone and that is taken of the whole salary.

    You have to walk around America and ask this question. I think the general response would be laughter.
    Why are we stressed out in America? I want more money to buy more stuff and we socially compete to make more money. And we only meet in the street socially to shout at each other about radical political ideologies.

      @Pia Lindh The population in Sweden is 80% Swedish. You might be living in a bigger city, that's why you see more ethnies, but in more isolated or rural part there are barely any other ethnies. Plus, you have to compare it to the US, the UK or France.
      Edit: I just checked and for France and the UK they just lump every white person in the same group, though there are many Latin people in France for example. And not every white person in the UK is of British descent. But to make a point, a lot of countries have a population way more diverse than Sweden.

      @@PoussinNoNeko We have lots and lots of refugees since 2090-now. From 2012 - Now, we have received about 500,000 refugees. In Sweden, we have a law which means that all municipalities in Sweden must receive them. This also applies to smaller municipalities and villages. I live in a small city, and there is a lot of them. 2015 when we got the most, there was a lot of refugees from Africa, but they choose the larger cities

    • @PoussinNoNeko
      @PoussinNoNeko ปีที่แล้ว

      @Pia Lindh I know about this, and that is also the reason for the rise of violence and insecurity, and consequently of the far-right. What you actually don't understand is that for years, the country kept control of their immigration numbers, and integration was possible. But with the sudden increase of refugees, it's going out of control. And local residents are feeling more and more unsafe and want some change in the otherwise weel-accepted government they had.
