We aren't shy, but reserved and we don't like small talk. It's the polar oposite from the statement that people in cities are more aprochable, in the countryside everybody says Hello and starts conversations, in the cities we avoid our neighbors as much as possible, we try to not look or smile at strangers. I can't say there is a great difference between Stockholm and Gothenburg, having lived in both cities. There are some Gothenburgers who hate Stockholm while the oposite is extremely rare (Little brother complex I guess). I've been called a Nazi for making word play jokes about Gothenburg, which is kind of ironic.

Denmark today is very expensive for us Swedes, but it's a lovely country. I live near the bridge to Denmark and there is plenty of Danish people coming over here to buy stuff. Danish people are more relaxed than Swedish people. But we are like we are and thats why Sweden is a great country..

We do have a lot of problems in the US. It's sad that the bad stuff hits the news, and not the good stuff. This is a huge country, and there is a lot of diversity. Sadly, there is too much division. The colleges are good, but very expensive. Not all of us are snobs, not all of us put the flag out. Drugs are a problem, and while marijuana is legal in small amounts. We had world history when I was in school, but I was also interested in academics. Our healthcare system is very expensive. Many of us struggle to buy groceries and get basic needs met (I'm on disability- was a nurse for 35 yrs; worked for 20). My grandparents were from Ôland and Nordmaling, and I love my Swedish heritage. Every Christmas Eve was incredibly fun with all of my farmor's sisters and brothers with tier families. Many of us respect European countries very much. I wish people here would understand that democratic socialism would benefit everyone... but too many in Congress want to make money. Trump was/is a disaster. More people voted for Clinton but the Electoral College (very outdated system) gave the election to tRump. Education is a problem. Too many don't value it, and think it's something that is boring, and not an opportunity. There is also not much done to make sure students actually learn something before going to the next grade. We do have a lot of issues- but it's also beautiful in so many places. When I grew up here, it was nice, but that was a LONG time ago. My parents valued education, so going to college was expected, and I loved nursing.

Of course other countries don't like Trump because he would not let them skip out on their nato dept , TRUMP 2024 , Trump train is on the way

I always have loved Norway and I remember going by train with my grandparents on a supercool trip from the north of Norway down to Oslo and back over to Sweden again. So I was chocked when I read in the newspaper they in reality hate us thinking we are no good at all. Old ladies, young people you name it did not seem to like us at all. I am a long time livestreamer on a few sites on the internet (like former Justin TV now Twitch etc etc) so I decided to start a little investigation and sure if I said I was Swedish they guys from Norway changed their attitude and showed they really did not like me at all. Since then they can go ..... and they suck at Hockey too they beat us once since the beginning of time.

When Russia invades them. They will love the USA then.

Between slavic and scandinavian women I have a hard time deciding whose more beautiful but british women have such a cute pleasant accent.

My wife and I went on a European vacation. Over 💙many parts of the Countries, especially Germany they had billboards up that said “ NICT MINE FUREUR!!”

In terms of comparing how polite the US/UK are it depends where you go, If you visit New York you wont feel welcome at all, Whereas if you were to visit somewhere up north in England or even Scotland you'd likely get a really nice reception.

I love how they instantly jump to “Americans shoot each other “ as if Sweden doesn’t have their share of violent crimes, quite a few committed with the guns they say they don’t have. The news shows the worst of the worst and Hollywood glamorizes it so that is all people see, but then again Sweden is a country of people too scared to admit that their recent immigrants are destroying their way of life.

As a Swede, I say: I dislike their politics. But I love the American people. They are the opposite of us Swedes, they are outgoing. I have been to the USA 4 times and am completely delighted when they address me in elevators on the street in the bar yes everywhere. So off with the politics and on with the Americans.

Swedish do have great metal but to be honest nothing beats Finnish metal.

I am Swedish and I love Denmark. We are taught to love our Scandinavian brothers & sisters, and we do. Swedes are definitely the most harsh in jokes against Danes. We know that they have thick skin. And I think it's the same for them against us Swedes. Tough love. I always support Denmark in sports or competitions, except when they play Sweden. Apart from Swedish victory, Scandinavian/Nordic victory will always be better than anything else. It is also always good for Sweden that our neighbours do well, because it also sets the standard for Sweden. Regarding the language, I think it's good that Danes speak Danish with Swedes. I am always annoyed to see Swedes & Danes speaking English to each other. Swedes understand Danish by reading. The complexity is how they pronounce things. But if they speak more "clearly" I always understand what they are saying. We Swedes are the best at criticising Swedes over problems with the language. The fact that we understand Norwegian means that we also feel a sense of belonging and close relationship to Norway & Norwegians. I wish and hope it can be the same for Denmark in the future. Love you our Danish brothers & sisters 🇩🇰❤️🇸🇪

You can always tell a Swede, but you can't tell them much.

As an American, I'll say two things in favor of Sweden: 1. They never locked down for COVID. 2. You don't need air conditioning there. People of Scandinavian descent built much of the American Midwest, and Scandinavian-Americans are mostly peaceful and hard working people. Not many of them are involved in gangs or drugs. I'll try to address some of the points made. We do, in fact, have locally owned restaurants. Here in Phoenix we have a fast food chain called Pete's Fish and Chips that is only in the local area. Voting for Trump was a matter of national survival. He paused the invasion from the south and plans to do so again. I know Swedes understand this issue, because they are turning into Syria-North. When Trump was in office gasoline was cheap, other prices were low, and jobs were plentiful. This business about taking off one's boots before going inside sounds dreadfully inconvenient. I'm often going in and out when I do yardwork and other household chores. I doubt anyone else wants to smell my sweaty socks either.

I spend about half my time in Sweden and the other half in Denmark as a Dane. I like both places a lot.

The Danes are good people and their language is definitely the most beautiful of the Scandinavian languages. The Swedish language is not even its own language, but a northern Danish albino dialect and this is something that the Swedes are not aware of. All civilized people in the Nordic countries know how to speak Danish or Finnish. The Danes can be proud of their own language, which is the most original and beautifully poetic, with a straight-backed masculinity. Swedes are jealous of Danes when they can't speak their language. To learn Danish, you have to have a brain!! I am Finnish and I defend the Danes. We have the same directness in character as the Danes and have had to suffer too much from the Swedes
