Very late reply i know, but its actually the other way arround. Yugioh abridged parodied this weird Tone from the duelmonsters dub, thus inspiring all the other abridged series as it was one of the first. And the other yugioh dubs kind of have kept in step with the 4kids style and comedic tone ever since. And trough meme culture and crossculture polination the modern yugioh dubs Adapted certain things or referenced the abridged series as well, since many who now work in the Dubbing industry grew up with abridged shows or even made sime themselves. So TL;DR: Abridged series sound like yugioh dubs, not the other way arround.
@datzfatz2368 It's never too late for knowledge! It's a very strange choice from the start to make your human characters sound like no human naturally would.
