  • Organizing of the new shed using scraps and left overs continues. I did have to purchase 2x6's for this one but the OSB and nails were leftovers. Overhead loft created to utilize what would be wasted space above. Please leave any questions and/or comments below. Thanks for watching!

Nice. Can never have too much storage space. Great idea.

If you add a block to each 2x6 you can use 2x6 hangers for added strength.

What is the span on those 2x6? My shed is 12' across. I am planning on adding a small loft about 3'x12'.

Hey, mine is also 12' wide. They span the whole way across.

@@justaddwood Thanks! I think that should do it. The only difference is the walls on my shed have OSB with insulation on the inside so I think I will have have to use hangers to hang the 2x6, or maybe just put on them on the top plate and anchor to the rafter. Will see what works.

    2x6 seems like overkill.

How much weight do you think you can put on it? @@justaddwood

What is the pitch of your roof on the shed?

If I recall correctly, it is about a 7/12 maybe. Thanks.
