Great presentation of using a pump, and asking for patience so the pump adjusts to my body. Thanks

Thank you so much, I was wondering why I couldn’t turn auto mode on, now I know I have to wait 72 hours.

LOVED this video and all true! You're the first one to mention keeping manual settings in good control so they are correct when you go out of auto mode. When I can't be using the sensor I know I must eat before going to bed or I go low in the night. I must correct my settings for that. And also you mentioned being patient with the pump because it is learning the first time you are wearing it.
A question for you: I'm always afraid to take the full carb count all at once. If I eat a bakery item for 75 carbs, I tend to take 36 carbs at first and then an hour later take the rest of the carbs or more of them like a square or dual wave. When I'm in manual mode and I take all 75 at once I tend to go low before all of the carbs are absorbed into my system. If I take all the carbs at once with the 780G will it take into that into account so I don't go low before all the carbs have absorbed. The pump doesn't know what kind of carbs I ate but only that what I ate was worth 75 carbs. Hope that makes sense.

Justin, just wanted to tell you that this video was great. I've been T1 27yrs and pumper for 17 Been on the 770 for about a year now and I just learnt quite a bit from you. We can all learn from each other no matter how long we have been doing it

Justin what a fantastic video! I have learned so much from you on the new pumps. I’m currently on the 630G and upgrading in 3 months and you have given me more confidence going forward as I have read such negative complaints on auto mode etc. Been type 1 for 55 yrs and on the pump for 25yrs. They certainly have come a long way for sure. Bless you and stay safe Justin.

You won’t get any further Medtronic insures from me since I have switched to a new pump brand and CGM. Please review my other video as and I’m sure they can help you. Best of luck.

Great words of wisdom Justin. I'm so sorry of the transmitter issues you have encountered which lead you back to manual mode. Like you, I know how much work is involved in manual and automode and automode when it is working, takes a lot of the burden off of us. Keep on pumping and I know we both can't wait until the 780G operating system is released for the USA!!!!

Fingers crossed the 780g gets FDA approved soon.

Good tips..I'd add, you can use an aftermarket over tape instead to keep your sensor on for 7 days.

    • @TheJjfrasier

The 770g and 780g use a Bluetooth connection between the transmitter and the pump.

I'm going through No. 10...I've been in auto-mode but I have been frustrated when I go to manual mode at some of the outcomes. Following the basal test from "Think Like a Pancreas"
