  • We are continuing with the disassembly, unfortunately a little slowly due to commitments and work, but little by little we are getting to the heart of the engine.
    We had to break the video into two parts because it would have been really long. In this episode you will see the dismantling of all the external structures of the engine, oil pipes, neutral sensor and many other secondary components, up to the heads, camshafts and the complete dismantling of the head and cylinder assemblies.

    Ti ringrazio a nome di tutti gli smanettoni come me che ti seguono. Se riuscissi a inserire anche dove reperire il materiale utilizzato (vernice per i pistoni, tool smontaggio, ecc.) sarebbe veramente il massimo. Continua così

      @@ennepiuunomotoSubbed! Thanks a lot for the subtitles. They really help my very very rusty and incompetent Italian (taught primarily by an ex girlfriend from Bologna a few decades ago) . I am about to buy my second 990 (first one was sold with 110K kms which I rode from new, a 2009 model raised to R spec) and I am trying to remember the engine. I have kept the service manual but this helps to refresh the memories. Cheers.

      I tendicatena non sono facilissimi da raggiungere, specialmente quello anteriore che è dietro il carter esterno dell’olio, ma se non hai rumori particolari, ticchettii o simili non mi preoccuperei più di tanto delle catene. Molto dipende da quanti chilometri ha la moto e se sono mai state fatte…

    Bellissima serie di video!!! Mi appresto anche io a fare un lavoro come il tuo, come ricambistica ( fasce ciacinetti guarnizioni ecc) hai messo tutto materiale originale?? Mi puoi dare un odea di quanto hai speso? Grazie

      Ciao, dipende molto dallo stato del tuo motore, ma di pezzi, tutto originale: guarnizioni di testa, fasce bronzine e cuscinetti... te ne fai per poco meno di mille Euro.
      Catene di distribuzione prendi le did che sono le stesse ma costano la metà.
      Poi devi vedere lo stato del motore e, in base a quello, decidere cosa cambiare e cosa no.

    Very informative thanks!! What is the tool which you removed the needle bearing after unscrewing the bolt from it @ 16:58?

      They are expansion pliers, I bought them in the USA in a tool kit, never found them as spare tool. They are the game changer tool in al lot of needs

    video interessante,posso chiederti come si chiama ed eventualmente dove reperire l'attrezzo che usi per estrarre la boccola con la gabbia a rulli che tiene l'ingranaggio della distribuzione ? grazie

      È una pinza a espansione che entra nella sede dell ingranaggio ma si riesce a estrarre anche mettendo a leva con un cacciavite da dentro facendo attenzione

      Su come si chiamano te l’ha già detto Francesco, dove trovarle onestamente non lo so, non sono così facili da trovare, io le avevo trovate in un kit con altri utensili. La parte più importante per toglierli non è la pinza in sé, ma schiodarli con i contraccolpi delle martellate, poi escono praticamente a mano o come diceva Francesco con un cacciavite intraversato nel foro di passaggio della vite di fermo.
