Regards to the USB power off the one cable, its likely it needs a USB C port in the computer that can also handle greater then 10 watts out, not all USB C are the same and the max wattage a usb 3.0 port should of been 18 watts, but this also depends on the voltage/current handshake between devices if its gonna say lets use the 18 watts. I have this unit and it did it the same for me where the same port would be able to power other interfaces by it self with no additional power to the device required.
Dude I've been trying to get my Scarlet 4i4 working for 4 hours, I've probably watched around 20 videos looking for the answer and I didn't think to take that usb adapter off the usb-c cable. That literally fixed my problem thank you!!!!
Same here. I have an sm58, korg M50, and Roland td-17kvx all hooked up to it. Running Cakewalk by Bandlab on a Windows 11 desktop. Functions flawlessly once they released the update which fixed the app hanging and crashing when exiting. This didn't affect the unit but am glad the app closes normally now.
I own a Scarlett 2i4 2nd gen and have been using it for a long time. I am not sure if it is worth the upgrade. Also, neither of my laptops has a USB-C port and they both power my gen2 device easily whereas gen4 would require carrying a power adapter, which is really annoying. I am not sure if there's anything related to the audio performance that makes the upgrade feasible.

I'm going to pin this comment. Hopefully it will help someone who has the same problem.

I love the fact that you can spend under $300 and still get great quality for the money. Awesome time to be a gear head. 😎
interfaces with dual headphones are great and important indeed, the MOTU M6 has 2 headphones inputs.
I may have to review that one next. 😁
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👏🏻, Awesome video, very informative!
They brought the buttons back! Pretty LED lay out, and sounds better. I have the 3rd generation so I don't need it...
i wouldn't have one if it didn't have a midi i/o

Thank you. Interesting review.
can't exactly do a sound test when everything gets compressed down the internet then comes out on either a mobile phone or computer.
Yo dumb question, can I just use a simple 3.5m headphone splitter on the headphone out for recording guests?
Is there a audible difference when using a audio splitter for the headphone jack?
My friend and I have not noticed any lose of quality
Does it record all 4 channels seperatly ?
Hi , it is compatible with USB2.0 port with my Mac?
