You modern-day producers that complain about sound quality of these modern-day cards should have been alive in the '80s when you actually had to work hard to get good quality sound All these modern-day cards are splendid absolutely perfect You need to work on your audio engineering skills if you think something is wrong with the sound! Facts! 💯🎙️
Hello. Please tell me how to properly connect the port for additional 5V power supply so as not to harm the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4th generation card? What can be used for this? Will any 5V charger be suitable? Are there current and voltage limits? Is it acceptable to connect this port to a PC?I'm afraid of damaging my card if I do something wrong. But I also want to make my two condenser microphones work well together.
Currently using a 2nd gen 6i6 - which has served me very well. I am trying to decide whether to trade in (focusrite run an excellent trade-in scheme) for a 4th Gen 4i4 or 3rd gen 8i6. I mainly mix gain staged material which is fairly quiet (before mastering) - so the lack of gain on the headphone output is a BIG concern. Is it worse than the 3rd gen? Two headphone jacks are also very useful for me if collaborating with others. Which would you go for?
Yeah I was going to say the should have included ADAT. I guess they will release a new octopre with these preamps and interfaces with more ins and outs. Wil 3rd gen interfaces now become unsupported in the future for drivers and software updates?
We appreciate your feedback on this, it's great to hear that you're interested in the future of Scarlett. Scarlett 3rd Gen certainly isn't unsupported. Our Windows USB and Thunderbolt/PCIe drivers are the same across all devices, meaning that 1st Gen Scarlett users are still getting the benefit of driver updates now, over a decade since we released that range.
First! Thank you, youtube algorithms.... also timestamps are handy for when adhd folks want to get a run down Addendum i subbed, so i am hyped to see more stuff
I just got the 4th gen, and I literally just swapped my old 2i2 out for it, DLed the drivers, DLed Focusrite Control 2, and the sound that came out of my KRK rockits was weak, low yet peaked. So after exhausting every troubleshooting aspect I could think of(even changing the USB port) now NO sound comes out of the speakers or both Headphone jacks (the comps or 4i4s) when music is playing I see the EQ bouncing around, it recognizes it, the window's EQ is bouncing around, it recognizes the hardware connection....just no sound. WTF....oh and none of buttons respond (select, 48V, Inst, etc)
This video adds nothing to me reading the spec sheet by myself
For real, and he barely explain what the clip safe mean

Still On First Gen! Works Perfectly!
Hi, there's also the 16i16 (4th gen) - it has ADAT; SPDIF; 2 Headphone Outputs...

Why not turn the levels up in Control 2 for t her headphone monitoring? Seeing as you didn’t show this I’m guessing you haven’t done this.

@williamreeve5376 Yes - they sell their refurbished units! I got around £70 off of a brand new 8i6 for trading in my much older 6i6
