    Cole The Cornstar, aka Cole, is a 4th generation family farmer from Central Iowa who is the life force behind his family’s 1,700 acre farm. Cole promotes agriculture by filming his day-to-day adventures with his Dad (Daddy Cornstar) and brother (Cooper) on the farm. With a lot of help from Daddy Cornstar, Cole instills humor and education into his videos fit for both young adults and adults. Despite being 22-years old, Cole has an old-fashion work ethic with an innovative approach toward agricultural technology and practices. Cole's mission is to prove the American Dream is not dead and be a megaphone for agricultural education and innovation, from technological advances in farming equipment to conservation practices.

    Cole I must say that after stumbling upon your channel, I've followed 4 other farming channels. Though the other channels have larger, more modern farms (From several generational improvements), your channel genuinely has the most entertaining and charismatic family taking part in it. I've become an avid farmer fan because of you so I'd like to thank you and the whole family for consistently putting in all the hard work to keep us entertained and educated on the farming industry. Now I'm probably gonna go to the next farming convention to check out some John Deere machines for absolutely no reason at all. Much respect from Vancouver, Canada!

    I have been watching for about 6 months, and now I don't miss an episode. When Michael Bloomberg said on the campaign trail that farmers just put a seed in the ground water it and wait, I thought there's more to it than that. So I watched a couple videos on farming and came across yours. What a refreshing message I love your family it is so good to know you and your family are out there with all the troubles of the world today. I love that you and your family love Jesus and your not afraid to say it. Please be careful and keep being you, you are doing Gods work.

    "Thinkin' harder, not smarter". That's a textbook attitude I have ! We could be twins...hmm. Your mouse incident reminds me of a time when my nephew had a mouse crawl up inside his pant leg. The scratching of his skin by the mouse really sent him over the edge. Thinking quickly, I located the mouse inside my nephew's trousers, felt for the head and...squish!...the mouse was dead and my nephew...well...he hasn't been quite right ever since. Hey Cole! Where I'm from, in Belgium, no one makes hay without tedding it at least twice. Sometimes to save hay after rain, but mostly just to be able to make hay from grass. Translated from dutch, our expression for tedding is 'turning hay'. After mowing, you turn the hay a few times, so it dries evenly, you row it up and bale it.

  • @iggyp7049
    @iggyp7049 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The hay tether really helps out, it's good for flipping it over once after cutting anyway and speeding the drying process prior to bailing period. We had one on our little farm about that size. On the previous video where cooper was checking it and it was still green on the bottom would have been perfect time to have tethered it, might not have gotten rained on.

    We ted are hay every single time. It helps it dry SO MUCH faster. What takes you guys 4-5 days to make hay takes me 2-3. We cut with a disc mower that has rollers that will "crush" and cause the water to be pressed out of the stems. Then the tedder blows it apart to let the air and sun to dry it out.

    Years ago we had a hayfield so badly rain soaked, that we just baled it and then stacked it into a hay mountain. When winter came and we were low on straw, Dad and I went over to the hay mountain and used it for bedding in the barn. The cows so loved that rotten hay that they ate it all!!!

    When we make dry hay bales (both square & round), we always cut it with out mo/co, then ted it out that day (it dries at least a day sooner), then rake and bale it. If the hay gets rained on, we simply re-ted it. We never rake it until like an hour or 2 before baling.

    Watching this again, 3 years later, do love the longer hair Cole and Nava looks so young*motherhood has matured you sweetly). Like looking back to how the farm looked with all the JUNK and old Buildings....what a difference in 2023, so Clean and Green. Cole please put in an Herb Garden for Nava, its easiest in pots and small raised beds....in sun and near water source. What a surprise it would be for her, as she loves to cook and have it close to house porch would be great....oh too, need some porch furniture and for sure a swing to sit on and watch the lovely sunsets or feed Edward. Just saying...... a New Hampshire Grandma! Actually a GreatGrandma too....

    Dog gone commercials are taking over, not to mention Utube wants to update my cell phone and I have no room to do that without buying a $1000 phone. So now I can't watch my favorite Cornstars except on PC. Love you guys!

    Hi, DC, CtC* & Navà.
    Another interesting and informative vlog from you guys, you apear to have a ball on your farm, no agro, no stress comes through in your vids, here in uk we are led to believe that farming is a real chore, although having said that you never see a poor farmer these days, i still cant equate how you make the books/accounts work with the cost of the equipment, and the falling price of the product?
    Anyway it all interests me greatly and has certainly helped ease the boredom of lockdown imposed by Covid-19 restrictions.
    I wish you guys every success in all you do and thanks again for these stream of vlogs.
    From UK.

    I laughed really hard at the mouse in your hair! I almost disrobed in the living room this morning because there was a spider in my night gown. I’m like you , not afraid of spiders, don’t want to wear them!
