I was a part of a family farm when I was young It was my grandfather's and we were all expected to work there as Grandchildren which I did for 2 years. Dang hard work that I hated but my grandad bought homes for everyone in the family that needed one.
Cole and family thank you for being such a good role model for my boys that are 7 and 12. They are being raised on the family farm similar to yours. You really give them insight to what happens on the farm when it might not always be safe for them to be out on the farm. You should consider doing a meet and greet sometime they dream of meeting you someday. We really enjoy watching you! Thank you!
Agreed! My boy watches you guys all the time. We live on a horse ranch and he always asks why we don’t grow crops. lol a big thing he takes away from you guys is your work ethic. He started waking up early to help mom muck stalls because he wants to grow up like Cole! lol
Hey Cooper, the scene at 1725 is spectacular. Rolling hills, trees, setting sun, tractor, bailer, round of hay, and a barely visible Giraffe in the tree line. The Giraffe thing may not be accurate. Glad you had a good tine. Thanks for sharing the adventure.
So great to see the Corn Star Family pulling together and getting it done. You are right Cooper, a freshly cut and bailed field is a beautiful thing and the smell is fantastic. I really liked you sharing your appreciation for bailing in the big field and how it differs from your normal bailing experience. It was a nice detail that gave me new insight. Thanks to MC, DC, Cooper and Cole for sharing your family, your lives, and your farm. God bless!
Cole get a Hudson Valve for your water tank and attach it to your tank lid. It will shut the incoming water off to the tank once full. We use them on our trailers that way you can keep the bib on without having it over flow.
A farmers work is never done. Y'all are doing a great job with all that is going on at the same time. Keep em coming if you have the time. Enjoyed watching your shows.
This has been fun to watch you cut, rake and bale all this beautiful hay. I love your enthusiasm for your work. This John Deere equipment is amazing. This machine makes your job/life a lot easier. Beautiful land.
Cole even though you don't show yourself working out very much on camera anymore you are one of my biggest inspirations to hit the weight room, thank you for being such a positive influence in the farming and fitness sphere!
From start to finish there was never a dull moment. Action-packed with all the equipment online and no breakdowns...you guys were really moving today...enjoyment plus.
I,love how everyone on the Corn Star farm gets so excited about farming. I have enjoyed every video because even at 71 I am learning what it takes to be a farmer 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻have a Blessed day ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Baling hay was and is one of my favourite jobs to cooper. I love nice tight heavy bales. Dad kept setting it to make light spongey sure bales. Thanks to my sister and her meddling I had to give it away when I was in the process of buying a round baler and a big square baler.
I used to be a perfectionist with my baling too, Coop. I didn't have a computer to tell me which side to feed, so I had to develop a rhythm. It's a relaxing job...just eating up swathes/windrows and making pretty bales.
I can smell it now. That's the only kind of farming I'd like to do as well. There's ALWAYS a market for quality hay. Here in Washington state there's a lot of our hay that gets exported to Asia. Load up the containers with high quality Washington grown alfalfa, truck them to the port (Seattle or Tacoma) for ports worldwide but mostly to Asia and go back home and do it again tomorrow.
The only piece of Deere equipment we own is our baler (I prefer European shades of green - Fendt, Amazone). It's a bit like our Gleaner combine...it gets the job done, it's not more complicated than it needs to be, and it's easy to work on and repair. But the Megawide pickup does leave a bit of hay behind sometimes. And yes, making the perfect bale is the ultimate satisfying challenge.
We have a 6130m with those screens in front of radiators. 2 years ago we took them out and just blow it out every once in awhile. Way better than the screen clogging and over heating 3 times a day when baling prairie hay.
Cooper I am surprised that JD didn’t give you the round bailer that has the continuous bailing feature. You wouldn’t need to stop moving because as the bale is completed and ejecting the next one is already starting.
I kinda miss the scratched up forearms, until I wised up and started wrapping my forearms. Grabbing the square bales as they came up the shoot and stacking on the hay wagon - good times! People still ask me how did I get such big forearms - baling hay!
Hard working family for sure. So good to see the family work together and helping the neighbors. Cole you are looking good these days. Loved seeing Mama Cornstar make an appearance in the video. And as always Daddy Cornstar is always fun to watch. Cooper love seeing you enjoy that new tractor and baler.
Agree with you on the custom baling cost Cooper. Doesn’t matter how heavy or big the bale is, takes the same amount of twine or net. I do 3x4 big squares. Twine price increase was nasty this year.
papa corn star you are a great role model, being the run around for the boys and not much more then a joke here or there. the sacrifice does not go unnoticed papa cornstar
Love the contents of all 3 being involved making the videos. Good job fellows. I loved haybaling growing up.. love the smell and there was always something for me to do..a lot different equipment back then..
I love the Hay Bailing that your brother, Cooper is doing with the company provided equipment tractor and bailer from VanWall. Such a tremendous efficient hay bailing system. I can see why Cooper likes bailing hay. I love Cooper's dog
Hello Cole the cornstar and to your amazing family. God is guiding you alone the way and you are meeting all the challenges that come your way as a family and with your family business. God Bless and Keep one and all!
In South Dakota some ares of the hay are so bad because we haven’t gotten rain for a long time. Usually we get 3000 bales but we only are gonna get about 1000 bales.
Cooper, had to laugh so much when you and daddy cornstarch. Were changing the wrap!!! August liked the wrap!! Glad your bailing operation going excellent!! Keep up the excellent work to all your family God bless. T Ellis. Ne USA 🇺🇸
Round bales are the most cost efficient way to bale hay. Requires less equipment & labor. We only had square balers back in my day and it was labor intense to p/u then unload and stack in a barn.
If you can afford it, try to get a baler that you can carry two bales on while you bake one. That way you can line them up for the most part and don't have to waste time and money on fuel going all over the field to pick them up.
Great video! Everyone did a great job of keeping me entertained esp Daddy Cornstar when he said “START YOUR ENGINES” just like Scotty Kilmer. LOL. You guys are so fun to watch… and educational!
Cooper, so happy to see that you have a CAREER you love! “When your Work is your Play, you never work a day!” Some go their whole life and are not blessed like you! Also, very glad you have the support of your family! B~}
I found it great that Cooper has such an intense relationship with his hay and feed operation. It is one of the essential aspects of farming, but one that does not garner the glory that is accorded to some activities. He comes from a family of practical, hard workers, and he works at the details as much as anyone and everyone else in the family. You are a great team building your team future together, building on the legacy of your past. It is great to see.
Cooper you need to come where I live. We have several miles of river dikes that gets baled for hay every summer. And there are a lot of round bales getting hauled off this summer.
I learned to drive in hay fields, driving all manner of vehicles while my brothers stacked bales. Dad loaned us out for a portion of the yield. Hot Arkansas summers and the smell of Coppertone. Hay will be so critical, with the coming feed issues.
Great day! DC had a lot of different things on his plate. Coop is hashing out that hay. Cole is spraying down an incredible amount of acreage in a day. Busy day. Good day. God bless you all.
Bucked many tons of bales (averaged about 50 pounds) of hay over the years but I don't believe I could buck one of those. Sure have been a lot of advancements since those days. Keep up the good work Cornstar family.
You need to bale alfalfa when the humidity is 65 through 90 or you lose the leaves which means you probably bale at night or early morning but bale grass hay during the day.
That was a day chock full of lots of different jobs for DCS and he smiled the most. Usually it’s Cole but Cooper is coming out of his shell and talking more. Guess he is in his element doing what he loves best, bailing hay! 😎
BTW Cooper you might want to look at Sonne Farm channel. they have a pretty cool attachment on the back of their John Deere baler that allows you to hold up to three bales and then you can dump them all at one time. it's a pretty cool attachment so you're not chasing bales all over the field.
that John Deere equipment sure looks good on your farm. I baled small bales with a John Deere 630 and a 14T baler. We didn't have round bales back then. Thanks for sharing
Cooper is a really impressive young man. He looks like someone you could give a brand new tractor plus equipment to test it, trusting him with handling it responsibly. Oh, wait..😊
Baling is my Dad’s favorite job also. How ever he’s no longer able to do much now days. I baled 245 bales first cut for us. Probably do some small bales second cut.
I love how much Cooper loves haying. He is such a hoot!!!! GREAT to see that kind of excitement in a person these days.
those big round bales gotta be more fun than doing the old style bales
I was a part of a family farm when I was young It was my grandfather's and we were all expected to work there as Grandchildren which I did for 2 years. Dang hard work that I hated but my grandad bought homes for everyone in the family that needed one.
Turn the engine off before removing the radiator screen to prevent the chaff from being sucked off the screen and into the radiator.
I saw that too looked like 1/3 of it went ack into the rad !
Yep, beat me too it. 😆
Likely focused on making video material and knows he shouldn’t have. Besides the corn stars have to put stuff in for the complainers to be happy too.
@@sandravanderleek8569 really sad comment
I was ready to respond to the same Adrian. I saw it happen before Coop slid the screen out.

There is not much more beautiful than a fresh cut field with hay bales throughout. Lovin it.
Only thing prettier is a grass waterway with cover and native habitat on it not 3 inch grass
Oh yes I can smell it.
Absolutely gorgeous!
💥 I love Cooper’s enthusiasm for making hay bales! Just AWESOME!
*Keep on tractoring!*
Fun to watch Cooper really enjoying his job. That is half the battle in life and you all do it well! Another beautiful sunset.
Wouldn't you enjoy brand new equipment too, yet the entitlement of these clowns is baffling
200 round bales at about $200 per. Hay isn't for making money.
Cooper I agree with you, the bales in the field are just beautiful!
Yet he's trashing the whole tractor and baler that he's using for nothing
Wheels 93 is someone jealous ?
Making hay is definitely the most satisfying job on the farm love the baler content!!
Cooper had found his niche! I've never noticed him having such a happy and contented look on his face!

I always loved the bailing. My favourite job was cleaning out the cow sheds and the spreading.
Daddy Cornstar, this really is a SUPERSTAR Family. God Bless Your Hearts and Take Care of You All.
