  • Guitar tuners - what are they and do we need them?
I saw a dude gatekeeping guitar tuners on Twitter the other day and it got me thinking about guitar tuners and which are the best ones for you.
Obviously this is a very subjective subject and it's entirely up to you but let's have a look at guitar tuners, the different kinds and which might be the best one for you.
Anyway- hope you enjoy the video and stuff, don't forget to like and subscribe.

I use a cheap rechargeable snark clip on for my acoustics. I tune then remove it. I had the battery operated one for a couple years and it worked great with no issues. I passed that on to my nephew and picked up the rechargeable snark for myself and it's working great a year or more later without any issues. I'm getting ready to order a Peterson strobe tuner with metronome just to be that much more anal about being in perfect tune...lol

Korg Pitchblack X. Best tuner EVER. Super easy to use. No extra features. Tunes my bass down to E0 (Octave below standard 4 string) WITH EASE AND ACCURACY!

My experience with the low price clip ons, is they didn't last past the 1st battery's life. Went through about 5 of them in a year or so.
I use a korg rack mount with my Marshalls. Blessings to all.

What is important? An in-tune guitar…really couldn’t care less how it got there lol.

$20 clip tuner on and done. A440 is the same on all of ‘em.

True. My only advice to anyone buying a clip on is to avoid the very cheap ones. They do work but they drain the battery even when off. Get a higher quality branded tuner and the battery lasts for years.

Personally, I'm a fan of the clip-on...and the pedal. I've got a PolyTune, which is my favorite, and the Boss, which is nice, but I actually lke the polytune feature for a quick check of all strings at once. I also use the clip-on PolyTune. I've got a couple of other brands that were cheaper but they have sensitivity issues. I can only imagine what you get for $3.00, but for $50, you get a hell of a tuner.

Thanks for sharing! I quite fancy one of the ones that goes on the back of the headstock. I don't need one but.........

@@guitarstuffstudio I like that idea as well. This was the first I'd heard of it.

I use my old boss pedal for the live rig and my axe fx 2 has a tuner in it (studio).
