  • In this video we're going over how to use ATC Radio communications to help read the airspace around you. As in listening and making a mental picture of where everyone is and what they're doing. This is a great tool to help keep you safe and know when you're about to get a radio call. PLUS, it'll help you map out whats happening in Air To Air and CTAF. Great tools for any private pilot learning to use the radios.
Some really cool tools we're using in this video are LiveATC.net to listen to my local airport, and FlightRadar24.com to see airborn aircraft.

Great advise! I basically learned myself the radio talk (for Class G) by listening to liveatc and having FR24 next to it. It only took some time to just push that PTT button and not being so shy to talk anymore. Biggest step was the initial call to airport info/radio, as it is a bit long. Our Class G is towered, but there is no air traffic control tho still mandatory to do a bunch of calls to the guys in the tower.

Awesome! Someone else on here said you could basically learn everything you needed from youtube and I kinda agree with that statement.

@@flywiththeguys I'm using google and youtube that since my very first flight as a pax and started with the basic instruments and how to read them and widened from there. It got me quite some knowledge and compliments. That's how I discovered your channel too! 😊
For Google just type in the term and add 'meaning aviation'. I ask other pilots/friends or my instructor if I can't find out things myself on the interweb. Best way of learning is mostly finding out yourself and not choosing the easy way immediately. I don't miss the days we had to go to the library to look for information or only had the house phone! The nice contacts you get through the internet are a gift!

Never has been easier to become proficient in radio communications without even touching an aircraft than today. You can learn almost everything even before your first flight lesson...

Depends on what you're using it for. I like flight radar 24 better. Easier to use IMO.
