- Hi everyone
This week I'm taking part in the tag of 'This or that' sewing addition.
I was tagged by the lovely Angela @DevonThreadTales
I completely forgot to tag anyone to keep the trend going, but please head over to the love to sew podcast for more details. Or Julie the creative curvy on TH-cam.
I hope you enjoy learning more about my habits, I'd love to hear about yours
please like, comment and subscribe, that would be amazing
Cara, nice video. Thank you. You look nice in black and white.
Suzanne
Thank you Suzanne I hope you're keeping well
I think afternoon is my best sewing time , closely followed by evening. Slow and steady is definitely my way. Love my shears for cutting out any clothing. The only time I use my rotary cutter is for straight cuts of cotton fabric. I usually don’t make a muslin, but did for my mother of the groom dress!
Gosh yes the mother of the bride is a serious one! I don't blame you at all. It's amazing how different we all are, I love that about Sewing
Thank you Cara. I loved the way you chatted around the questions. I guessed all your answers 😂
Lol thank you!
Aaahh that’s was fab. Really enjoyed your answers most of them I think I could have guessed 😂 but sometimes at your sewing machine before you’ve had a tea or coffee 😮 my goodness I think I would faint if I did that 😂😂😂. Love it ❤❤
Lol I know! I am so sew Mad after all 😅
Really enjoyed this Cara it was good to hear all your answers I try to sew every afternoon and get so frustrated if I get visitors or a friend phones and chats for ages I think “ Ahhhh” I wanted to finish such an such I’m like you as I clean everything after each project but I sweep my sewing room floor every time I’m in it as it saves all the threads going through the house. I’ve just purchased some good quality fabric just have to pluck up the courage to use it Looking forward to all your new makes ❤
Thank you, it's lovely to hear from you. I totally know what you mean if someone interrupts my sewing time 😅
Lovely listening to your answers😊
Thank you Nicky
Really enjoyed this Cara 👌💖. I'm a scissors fan too and love all fabrics but like you would pick knits if I was pushed 👍🥰😘
Sounds similar to me Sally ❤️
Thanks for sharing Cara. 🍓🧶💙🌈
Thanks Jenny
I enjoyed this Cara. My answers to the majority of these questions is either "both" or "it depends" 😄I sew with knits a lot, but also like wovens. Press as I go, hand sew buttons, will sew simpler garments at night and more involved makes during the day. Never trace. Wearable makes instead of a toille. Follow instructions-but not necessarily in the order presented. Happy sewing, Cara!
I love your answers Laura! Isn't it great how unique we all are, just brilliant
Cara, I believe we could be sewing twins. I never toile, I cut straight into my patterns, I prefer PDFs, I love ALL the fabrics-you just need the proper fabric for your pattern, and sew on. It's too bad you live across the pond and I'm in the U. S, I do envy all he fabric shops there seem to be in England. I only have one fabric shop with garment fabrics I can visit in person and it can be an hour away if the traffic is bad. There are quilt shops galore if I ever decide to quilt (doubtful since I live in Florida-how may quilts do you need in a subtropical climate?!) I look forward to your next video. Happy sewing!
Ah we do sound v similar! I'm envious of your subtropical climate 😅 we are lucky to have lots of fabric shops. Sadly not all in person experiences, but they are local. Yes it's a shame you are in America and I'm here, but it's lovely to hear from you
Angela recommended your TH-cam so glad she did, great questions xx
Thank you so much, lovely to hear from you
I guess I have been paying attention, I think I answered 90% of your correctly😂😂😂😂
Yay thank you ❤️❤️
Which little iron do you use Cara? Is it the oliso one that’s being advertised everywhere? Loving your Maison Fauve work.
Duronic Travel Iron SI3 WE, is the one I've got, from Amazon, it's worked out really well
