The beginning is always the most fun, after you become stable with supplies and a solid base, it starts to become pretty stale, since there is no more pressure of starving to death and zombies can become easy to deal with once you have enough weapons. That's why I personally use extremely rare loot for everything, 10 years later combined with cryogenic winter, WORSE cars conditions mod, very rare generators, pitch black nights and random speed zombies. The zombies keep me on my toes at all times, there's a sense of urgency that if I don't get into a safe place before dark, it will be a death sentence and supplies are very hard to find, keeps the game interesting and fun for a while, especially with friends.

It translates to -73.3c. Almost as bad as -100c lol I can usually convert between the two measurements fairly closely in my head, but thats for temps at or above freezing. This is too cold lol
-73.3°C is almost as cold as the coldest place on earth but not quite but that’s still arctic levels of cold. For the record the coldest place on earth is called the Pole of Cold where the temperature is -83°C
While I would love to see more many people may just be excited about this series not because it is fun to watch but because they are wanting another series like you're 1000 days.

The game really hammers home the "This is how you died" plot and does not want a happy ending. Either you die to some mistake or become so vastly overpowered you become bored and take risks that kill you. There are mods for survivors and finding a cure so you could set a goal like creating a safe zone and finding a vaccine and eventual cure for everyone.

There are some problems which need to be dealt with to advance cryogenic winter playthrough experience: 1) Padded clothes problem. The reason the lake house had so many weapons and food was due to it being a randomly spawned "Survivor" house. Which is why it had all the random zombies in it. It was a random event to simulate a survivor enclave that had fallen to infection.
A few goofs I noticed across your video. The first being the fireplace fuel management. Putting out fire reduces the remaining fuel time by 2 hours. So if you burn the fireplace for an hour than put it out then burn it for another hour and so on you technically get only 2 hours out of a log instead of 6. Sure, running the fureplace 100% time is not efficient too. But using tree branches or sturdy sticks to time burns at hour intervals is.
10:46 you entered a survivor house. You know, the barricaded houses? If it has canned foods in drawers and weapons in every part of the house, it's a survivor house. You'd usually figure that out by the boarded up windows outside, but sometimes it might not cover the place you entered.
This scenario really strains my suspension of disbelief. They may be walking, reanimated corpses controlled by a virus, but they are still human bodies. After two or three days of the weather conditions you are experiencing, there wouldn't be a single zombie with flesh on their bones left. Imagine how cold it would be in -100F weather... and then imagine wearing jeans and a T-Shirt and just slowly shambling around outside. They'd be frostbitten piles of bones flayed by the wind. It would make for rather boring gameplay though to only deal with the cold, of course.
Please continue, i love watching and hearing your videos while working haha The fact that it is not that attention demanding is a plus, not a minus, it is a kind of video that could last 12 hours and i could still let it play while i worked
AK + Hockey Helmet + Gas Mask. Either you entered the house of someone who was prepared for a gas-based apocalypse or a psycho. Thank goodness you don't have to flip that coin because you probably took that guy out as a zombie.
As someone living in a cold climate the temperatures this mod uses are ludicrous. Being outside in the cold in anything close to -110°F, even in full winter clothing, for long enough for the time to tick up ten minutes would be more than fatal. Have the developers of this mod ever seen snow before?
Have you ever spent time at the south pole? Cuz that's really the only way you'd know what you claim to. And the average winter temp down there is -76F/-60C with the coldest ever recorded temperature being -117F/-82.8C. And they go outside and WORK in those temperatures btw. Now with what project zomboid has to offer it may not be realistic cuz there's no way you can wear enough clothing to be okay in that temperature, but to call it "ludicrous" to even think it could work is a bit presumptuous. Just cuz you live in a colder climate doesn't mean that you're an expert on temperatures that a MINISCULE amount of the human population will ever get close to experiencing.
Watching you shovel logs into the fireplace was painful haha Much easier to initially drop them all just out of reach, fill your main inventory, walk to fireplace, add all, rinse and repeat!
i'm always impressed seeing people casually kite 50+ zombie hordes and weave through them i'm still working my way up to that skill level, great content! 10:51 is probably a annotated map spawn. I've noticed in my current playthrough that sometimes the game will spawn a annotated map spawn randomly on a house, and when I visit it the building may not be boarded up, but still has survivor house loot. This is honestly pretty terrifying if you think about it. The extreme cold just makes it worse.
Its also worth mentioning that open/busted windows on cars render their heaters useless (pz logic) So driving cars with missing door windows and windshields in a cryogenic winter is no good
i love being from kentucky and just listening to how everyone says louisville. can easilly tell whos been there, from there, and whos never been close.
Realistically speaking, wouldn't zombies get slower and slower in the cold? They presumably don't generate enough body heat to prevent themselves from freezing stiff; I imagine they'd become ice sculptures if it gets too far below freezing.
@@mayoplayingwumbologistmd4389 Never said there'd be no zombies period. I imagine there'd be tons of them in places that tended to stay warmer, just as deep underground or near hotsprings/geysers and other volcanic areas. And, if the zombies are made just barely smart enough to keep to areas warm enough to not freeze through, you suddenly have a lot of extra danger associated with keeping yourself warm. Also, seeing the standing, frozen bodies would way up the horror factor imo.
I have an idea for a challenge basically you need to try to survive 500 days but with superpowers (for the powers you will be using the more traits mod for the traits that act as powers/abilities (though you can still use some traits from project zomboid that aren't from mods) for obvious reasons you will need negative traits you can chose whatever you want but they are supposed to act as weaknesses you have because of your powers so if you want they can all be stuff that you can overcome (perhaps even stuff that has no permanent affects on your character) but you will be required to chose at least a few that have a permanent affect that can't be overcame along with burn ward patient and every other trait that starts you off with a type of injury along with your choice of mods that make zombies more powerful (if you have superhuman abilities why shouldn't the zombies also be more powerful) you can also add mods that make the game harder after that you can chose a few mods completely of your choice so long as they don't affect the zombies or the other chosen mods) the win conditions for the challenge is you must not die at all during the challenge you must max every skill before day 500 (stamina/endurance don't count if you chose the trait that lowers it's maximum) and you must create a base that's as close as possible to zombie proof that is also self sufficient (to clarify by create I don't mean you are required to build it piece by piece unless you want to so basically you have the option to build it or you can takeover a building and make it your base and make it as zombie proof as possible as for being self sufficient I mean the base needs to be able to grow enough food for you to survive off of it along with having a way to gather enough water for you to survive off of it) lastly the settings are entirely your choice aside from the zombies not being weakened (if you are required to chose between senses and physical strength for the zombies physical strength is the only option because the zombies are supposed to have powers not the abilities of a detective so they shouldn't instantly find and kill you they should be a problem that you may need to deal with each day)

Please continue, i love watching and hearing your videos while working haha The fact that it is not that attention demanding is a plus, not a minus, it is a kind of video that could last 12 hours and i could still let it play while i worked
I’m from Kentucky, and honestly, I don’t blame ya 16:44 😂
-200 degrees?
The coldest I’ve seen was -56. I can’t imagine quadrupling that.
@@moonlitxangel5771 they don't work during -60,. they wait till it gets warmer
Watching you shovel logs into the fireplace was painful haha
Much easier to initially drop them all just out of reach, fill your main inventory, walk to fireplace, add all, rinse and repeat!
By the way, you can put items in your separate seats in the car to avoid walking around the car with a risk of getting eaten
i'm always impressed seeing people casually kite 50+ zombie hordes and weave through them i'm still working my way up to that skill level, great content! I'm working on a challenge using a combination of mods including cryogenic winter, dark world, and infinite snowstorm to create a snowball earth rogue planet scenario where earth is hurtling off from the sun into the cold void of space. It's extra immersive on maps like deagu or project russia for that enviromental flavor.
7:44 Jesus Christ zero hesitation
46:00 ah yes, the classic tactical police axe. Quite useful during interrogation.
I do love how hard this is, gonna be an awesome series
That panic drive back at 19:09 gave me anxiety man.
A nuclear winter on top of a zombie apocalypse? That's rough, buddy.
10:51 is probably a annotated map spawn. I've noticed in my current playthrough that sometimes the game will spawn a annotated map spawn randomly on a house, and when I visit it the building may not be boarded up, but still has survivor house loot. To my knowledge the only time food spawns in a bathroom is when your in a survivor house
Tl;dr PZ is janky and won't spawn loot properly so you stumble upon doomsday preppers from that tv show
at 10:30 just in case you didnt know somehow that house had a survivor house loot pool, which has canned food spawning in the bathroom as well as weapons all around
"until i stay up until 4:30 or 5am and crash and dont wake up until the evening like some dude who still lives at home with his mom" bro that is way too casually specific to not come from personal experience. Also I feel attacked
This is honestly pretty terrifying if you think about it. The extreme cold just makes it worse.
Love this!!! I've been waiting for this style of episodes for a while! This is the kind of story telling pz needs. Thank you! You made my day!
This was beyond fun to watch, and honestly thanks for adding the names of the songs in the top right. I wish more people would do that in videos.
Editormans here, used to be an artist so actually crediting people's work is pretty important to me
@@LittleFlame23 as another artist, couldn't agree more👍
2:50 That one was personal
48:33 the zombies sound like an angry pack of dogs when sped up
Dude has one of the mansions almost completely fenced off... takes the one without fence and builds a wall all around lol
Its also worth mentioning that open/busted windows on cars render their heaters useless (pz logic)
So driving cars with missing door windows and windshields in a cryogenic winter is no good
I hope we get to see a 200 days of this
a panicked drive home knowing any crash would kill my engine and you still decide to take the riskiest turns but atleast it worked out
16:00 bro really left 12 box’s of nails🤣😂🤣😭
250 hours on one playthrough is insane, I don't even have a tenth of that in the game.
That comment about upgrading your combat skill at school sent me 💀
This man just said "I Paul Walker'd a light post." XD.
I wonder how the opposite of cryo winter would play, like nuclear heat.
something about the sounds of weapons hitting zombies sped up is very satisfying
20:46 I know this was released a while ago, but these sound like a bunch of very angry chickens chasing you when sped up.
This is how my parents told me it was like when they had to go to school back in the day.
-200F and going down, zombies lurking in the streets... "
i love being from kentucky and just listening to how everyone says louisville. can easilly tell whos been there, from there, and whos never been close.
Diferent series, same problems driving the car. Loved that
I'm not even sure the remaining cars would run in such temperatures
Realistically speaking, wouldn't zombies get slower and slower in the cold? They presumably don't generate enough body heat to prevent themselves from freezing stiff; I imagine they'd become ice sculptures if it gets too far below freezing.
If you wanna play a zombie game without zombies be my guest
@@mayoplayingwumbologistmd4389 Never said there'd be no zombies period. I imagine there'd be tons of them in places that tended to stay warmer, just as deep underground or near hotsprings/geysers and other volcanic areas.
And, if the zombies are made just barely smart enough to keep to areas warm enough to not freeze through, you suddenly have a lot of extra danger associated with keeping yourself warm.
Also, seeing the standing, frozen bodies would way up the horror factor imo.
I was thinking the same thing. I'm going to assume that in this universe the zombie disease has some kind of antifreeze effect on the zombies.
I have an idea for a challenge basically you need to try to survive 500 days but with superpowers (for the powers you will be using the more traits mod for the traits that act as powers/abilities (though you can still use some traits from project zomboid that aren't from mods) for obvious reasons you will need negative traits you can chose whatever you want but they are supposed to act as weaknesses you have because of your powers so if you want they can all be stuff that you can overcome (perhaps even stuff that has no permanent affects on your character) but you will be required to chose at least a few that have a permanent affect that can't be overcame along with burn ward patient and every other trait that starts you off with a type of injury along with your choice of mods that make zombies more powerful (if you have superhuman abilities why shouldn't the zombies also be more powerful) you can also add mods that make the game harder after that you can chose a few mods completely of your choice so long as they don't affect the zombies or the other chosen mods) the win conditions for the challenge is you must not die at all during the challenge you must max every skill before day 500 (stamina/endurance don't count if you chose the trait that lowers it's maximum) and you must create a base that's as close as possible to zombie proof that is also self sufficient (to clarify by create I don't mean you are required to build it piece by piece unless you want to so basically you have the option to build it or you can takeover a building and make it your base and make it as zombie proof as possible as for being self sufficient I mean the base needs to be able to grow enough food for you to survive off of it along with having a way to gather enough water for you to survive off of it) lastly the settings are entirely your choice aside from the zombies not being weakened (if you are required to chose between senses and physical strength for the zombies physical strength is the only option because the zombies are supposed to have powers not the abilities of a detective so they shouldn't instantly find and kill you they should be a problem that you may need to deal with each day)
7:44 criminally underrated line
Honestly, I'd love to just watch the 250 hours of unedited footage lol. I enjoy the longer playthrough videos.
I'd happily watch more of this, I enjoy your commentary and it's nice to have something to just listen too
It would be cool if you posted the modlist for these challenges, love your videos, i binge watch them!
lives with mom crashing at 5am waking at 4pm accurate
it wouldn't be a predz video without the questionable and controversial jokes that still somehow make me giggle
Really enjoyed this video. Your style of commentary (dead-pan kind of darker humor) is really entertaining and caught me off guard a few times with some of the jokes. Looking forward to watching some more of your zomboid content!
