Has anyone EVER heard anyone really singing the praises of Mitch McConnel? That tells us something about the Republican side of the coin. Representative Chip Roy has a tremendous grasp of current realities, and most importantly, he is brave enough to shout it out.
We need to figure out how to put some weight behind folks like Roy who focus on critical matters and not behind people that when they open their mouth sand pours out.
McConnell tries to talk a good talk and sure he sounds tough when he's lambasting Democrats on issues but when it comes down to holding the wine against Democrat policy that is extremely harmful to the country he's never to be found where was he when the midterms were manipulated in Maricopa county, where there is literal video proof of some individuals putting up to ten ballots in a drop box at a time? I mean ten ballots seems a little excessive for one person to be depositing into a drop box, and ok maybe one or two people get it's possible that they were all legal ballots, but for multiple people to drop off a ton of ballots each come on! Mitch was nowhere to be found then or any other time the party needs to be defended McCarthy is the exact same way... The establishment Republicans like them and the rhinos like Graham all need to be ousted and do like Josh Hawley suggested rebuild the Republican party with solid senators and representatives James Lankford, Josh Hawley, John Kennedy, Ted Cruz, chip Roy, Matt Gatez, MTG, and Jim Jordan's who are all great senators and representatives that aren't afraid to challenge the psycho Dems and be capable of reversing their insane policies

Using tax dollars to support religious institutions was too bizarre to contemplate. No one would have ever said (as Pompeo, Pence, and legions more do) that he was "first and foremost a Christian, second a conservative, third a Republican, in that order" because EVERY elected official should "first and foremost" be an American, beholden to the Constitution, NOT their own interpretation of the Bible, where they can find justifications to trample the Constitution. Roy's remarks about the Respect for Marriage Act are bald-faced lies. The RMA is nothing more than Congress exercising its constitutional prerogative under the Full Faith and Credit Clause. The RMA instructs state governments to acknowledge as lawful and legitimate same-sex AND interracial marriages if they were legal in the jurisdiction where they occurred. The RMA simply legislates the status quo we've had for years. It affects ONLY state governments and has nothing to do with individuals' religious liberty. Chip Roy obviously has no problem legislating his religious beliefs (but would scream like a banshee if Muslims or Wiccans or Zoroastrians attempted to do the same). Chip Roy cannot possibly share the Founders' understanding of pursuit of happiness and the liberty to follow one's own course. Although early American leaders' vision was shadowed by 17th-century constraints and applications of liberty, their principle was correct: every individual has an inalienable right to PURSUE HIS (or her) OWN HAPPINESS and FOLLOW HIS OWN COURSE so long as no else's rights are infringed. A corollary of such great freedom is that, inevitably, some people will make choices others would not. Those disturbed by such audacity have to just suck it up. Being offended by awareness that "outsiders" who don't abide by one's own religious prescriptions and proscriptions exist is no reason to criminalize or ban others' happiness. Chip Roy does not hold that gays have the inalienable right of pursuit of happiness or liberty to follow their own course, even though his rights are not affected at all. Gays' liberty to exercise rights that other Americans don't think twice about harms no one. Cries of "WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN?!“ and "INDOCTRINATION!" are bigotry. Gay people exist. There are gay students, gay teachers, gay principals and gay superintendents, parents, and school board and community members. Schools don't teach "woke ideology" (not that anyone on the Right can define what that means anyway) or queer theory (most gays have no clue what this is). What actually puts sand in the Radicalized Right's bikini is that schools acknowledge gays exist. Gays have innate dignity. Gays deserve to be respected, just like every other human being. Students are not taught these core values of human rights. They are in the DNA of public schools, which have always had the mission of producing good citizens. Chip Roy does not believe any of this.
Not long ago, Baptists, particularly, and other Christians staunchly defended the wall of separation between church and state. Some on the fringe refused to recognize the existence of the Establishment Clause (they spoke of ONE religion clause_ when everyone else correctly recognized TWO religion clauseS).
Using tax dollars to support religious institutions was too bizarre to contemplate.
No one would have ever said (as Pompeo, Pence, and legions more do) that he was "first and foremost a Christian, second a conservative, third a Republican, in that order" because EVERY elected official should "first and foremost" be an American, beholden to the Constitution, NOT their own interpretation of the Bible, where they can find justifications to trample the Constitution.
Roy's remarks about the Respect for Marriage Act are bald-faced lies.
The RMA is nothing more than Congress exercising its constitutional prerogative under the Full Faith and Credit Clause. The RMA instructs state governments to acknowledge as lawful and legitimate same-sex AND interracial marriages if they were legal in the jurisdiction where they occurred.
The RMA simply legislates the status quo we've had for years. It affects ONLY state governments and has nothing to do with individuals' religious liberty.
Chip Roy obviously has no problem legislating his religious beliefs (but would scream like a banshee if Muslims or Wiccans or Zoroastrians attempted to do the same).
Chip Roy cannot possibly share the Founders' understanding of pursuit of happiness and the liberty to follow one's own course. Although early American leaders' vision was shadowed by 17th-century constraints and applications of liberty, their principle was correct: every individual has an inalienable right to PURSUE HIS (or her) OWN HAPPINESS and FOLLOW HIS OWN COURSE so long as no else's rights are infringed.
A corollary of such great freedom is that, inevitably, some people will make choices others would not. Those disturbed by such audacity have to just suck it up.
Being offended by awareness that "outsiders" who don't abide by one's own religious prescriptions and proscriptions exist is no reason to criminalize or ban others' happiness.
Chip Roy does not hold that gays have the inalienable right of pursuit of happiness or liberty to follow their own course, even though his rights are not affected at all.
Gays' liberty to exercise rights that other Americans don't think twice about harms no one.
Cries of "WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN?!“ and "INDOCTRINATION!" are bigotry. Gay people exist. There are gay students, gay teachers, gay principals and gay superintendents, parents, and school board and community members. Schools don't teach "woke ideology" (not that anyone on the Right can define what that means anyway) or queer theory (most gays have no clue what this is).
What actually puts sand in the Radicalized Right's bikini is that schools acknowledge gays exist. Gays have innate dignity. Gays deserve to be respected, just like every other human being.
Students are not taught these core values of human rights. They are in the DNA of public schools, which have always had the mission of producing good citizens.

The RMA merely requires states to recognize as lawful and legitimate same-sex AND interracial marriages that were legal in the jurisdiction where they occurred.
In other words, the RMA legislates the status quo we've had for years.
It's a constitutionally authorized statement from the federal government to state governments.
Any alleged (over)reach of the RMA is a lie, plain and simple.
