I have this drum, it's incredible he isn't lying about the tuning range very very versatile especially given the 5.5 depth it sings in a mid tuning and can take your head off when cranked so stoked I bought this drum absolute winner!
Hey! Just wondering what range you tuned your snare to (I've just received mine). Presently, I have mine tuned 85 top and 82 bottom. How about you? Thanks!
I’m so happy I was finally able to afford this snare! I’m sad I missed your 1st signature series (it’s because of you sir that I even play Mapex!) that and their great customer service. But I use to rock 2 snares at all time and switch between them often. I do keep 2 snares but one has no snare strands and my warbird does the hi cracks and the low snare thuds! I absolutely love this snare and hope to one day be able to afford the black panther kit. Currently rocking the Pro M maple but I started with a Venus series so I’m working my way up lol. Thanks Chris for all that you do, you’re a HUGE inspiration to me.
I've loved the sound ever since the first clip I saw of it, and as a woodworker I especially like the craftsmanship! Lord willing I'd love to try one out in person and maybe get one sometime! The only aftermarket snare I own right now is a Pearl 14x6.5 Maple Free Floater, which I definitely love and have gotten nothing but complements on. I think if I bought this snare as well as Tama's SLP G-maple snare drum (which I've had the privilege of trying out in person!), I'd have the only 3 snares I'd ever need to buy!
I just ordered mine today. With taxes it came out to around $560.00 , it is a beautiful drum though. And definitely worth every penny. Black Panthers have an amazing sound.
chaosinmotion13 at my store I have it for 399.00 on my site before shipping. we have 1 in inventory. I can tell you this. That thing is absolutely gorgeous looking and sounding
I just got mine on Friday!!! It has an absolutely beautiful sound. Very loud, and aggressive. It's definitely one of the best snares I have ever played/purchased. I can't wait to use it for live gigs. And it came with an autographed Chris Adler Black Panther leather booklet with a hand signed photo of Chris. A Super cool item to have!!
Na man, it's a song from the "Drum Nation Volume Three" Album called "The Near Dominance of 4 Against 5" that Chris did the drums for; idk if he wrote any of the other tracks. Other guys like Jason Bittner and Derek Roddy are on the album too.
Just got the snare last week. Love it. Sounds great in my studio. I do have a question. It comes with and Autographed Picture in a very nice Hard frame. Is it a Live signature by Chris or is it a Machine that AutoSigns? Either way the drum is a great addition to anyones collection.
+Mapex Drums USA Very good of Mapex to respond. I'm looking to buy a double bass Mapex Armoury kit and eventually this gorgeous snare drum. Best drum company by far. Also just ordered my 2 Mapex Falcon pedals, so stoked!
It just now hit me how much Chris looks like Brad Pitt underneath that beard, lol
You couldn't hit the drum one time for us? #blueballs
I imagine its playing in the background mix?
Robert Laughman I wanted to hear it raw, not recorded. But if it's good enough for him to slap his name on it, I'm sold.
Ramsey L right? Either way, I'm stoked for the new album.
Robert Laughman hell yes!
Robert Laughman That's a song called "The Near Dominance of 4 against 5" that he recorded with Ron Jarzombek in 2005.
Bought one yesterday. It CRACKS like a swift back hand from momma. YES!!!

I'd expected some sound demos and a bit of drumming, like in the videos of russ miller and matt halpern! Great looking snare, though! :-D
Anyone know what the intro song is?
Mapex lovers hit like 💓 Mapex makes the best sounding drum kits even on entry level kits
didn't need a snare mic in an open arena for 25,000 people?... stretching the truth there a little bit, no?
All about that overhead and tom mic bleed!
Unlikely, it's painfully loud.
+Tiago Palma that's a greenscreen
+Pavel Vilchytski hehe right... he's not playing the drum in the video, so that's not what I was talking about. ;) he says it on the video.
+Bowen Matheson good one! ;)
cool brother
"Hard rock"
HOW MUCH?!?!?!?

I bought one, a firecracker!, I love it!
I'm hoping, for your band members sake, dampening rings are used during practice. My damn drummer had a brass piccolo snare that rendered me deaf.
well you see, ear protection exist
Too damn small
Literally need this in my life
Wow! Was that a sample of the new lamb of god album in the background?!?

+Shane Dion Chris Adler, Russ Miller, Matt Halpern, and Will Calhoun signed their autographed pictures themselves.
Thanks Mapex! I have 4 of your snare's and am looking forward to owning all of them. Great products.

I just got a real signed one from chris himself. he sold it at normal retail price. Only 8 of those were available. wohoooo
