    Nice Van Brother!!!
    At least it runs well enough.
    The back door that was busted out, you should replace it. I saw the striker catch breaking apart. Ripping away from the spot welds.
    Looking forward to an Amazing 2024!!! You got this Bro!!!

      Thanks Bro!!! Great observation and I did notice that! You think I could grind away the paint and weld it? The van was originally owned by a catering company based out of NYC. Definitely shows signs of forced entry. I know it didn’t happen where it’s sat for 4 years as we have surveillance pointing at it 24/7. Definitely a hunk of crap but it runs! 😁

      Thanks brother! Hoping to get it on the road by mid January. Still needs some work done to it but it runs good now that I replaced the plugs and coil packs, also fixed the water leak and solved the battery draining issue 🙂🍻👊🏼

    as for the exhaust try to find the leak and use an exhaust clamp from an auto parts store. Don't get me wrong it's not the best solution but it will get you as far as you need to go man. WORST case scenario go to a junkyard and snag an exhaust from there (ive known several people to do this a couple years ago and they still use the exhaust to this day it mostly depends on your states inspection laws). It'll be WAY cheaper than an auto parts store

    • @Scrap2Cast
      @Scrap2Cast  ปีที่แล้ว

      As for the exhaust, the muffler is completely rotted off. Unfortunately I will need a new or newish muffler in order to pass my states inspection. I have been searching junkyards online for various things the van needs. Mainly stupid shit for it (slider door handle busted on inside, missing door strike on passenger side rear door, missing done light fixture in cargo area, the metal bars to protect the windows from the inside, etc). Hoping to find a pick my own parts junkyard as I used to have a blast when I was younger searching and taking apart pieces I needed. The mileage us definitely unknown to me. As I was looking at the title, it says 194k (not actual mileage). The odometer says 168216 so I have no clue what the mileage really is… hopi g that wont be an issue when trying to register it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    I’d jump on that deal all day long. Even if you put $1000 into it, you are still way ahead.
    Can’t wait for the vids of you cruising the neighborhood on trash days.

      Thanks brother and I definitely think I can get it road worthy for about that. As long as the scrap pays for the insurance, the gas and a small percentage of the storage unit monthly rent, I’m happy. Thanks for watching and sticking around bro! 😎🍻👊🏼

      That’s what I’m saying bro! My first car back in 1997 cost me $300 so this van is definitely my cheapest vehicle purchase ever. Coincidentally, my first vehicle was also a Ford🤣. Thanks for watching bro! 😎🍻👊🏼☮️

      Yeah man, the company gave me a heck of a deal. Like I said in the video, it’s easily $300-$350 if I decided to junk the vehicle instead of fixing it up. Thanks for watching brother! 😎🍻👊🏼

      Heck yeah bro, I jumped on the opportunity to purchase it! I drove it for 4 years back and forth to our warehouse down the street. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a POS but it will do what I need it to do. Now I can start saving my steel again 😁. Thanks for watching brother! 😎👊🏼🍻

    DUDE no she's running good, do some research on how to test coil packs with a multimeter and i can almost guarantee you those coil packs are not the problem. If you wanna do it simply for peace of mind I completely get it. but she's running good man. Yea for sure change the fluids but if the coil packs pass the test I say leave em. prioritize the fluids and tire pressure. Since there is a parasitic draw Chris Fix has some really good videos on that, which may help. can't guarentee anything but she sounds like she's running well. I'd fix the parasitic draw, waterproof the hood (and coil pack if that's an issue) and call it a day! best of luck man you really got a steal with that van

    • @Scrap2Cast
      @Scrap2Cast  ปีที่แล้ว

      Brother, there was a lot of water under coilpacks #2 and #3. Coilpack #3 is also cracked. For the $70-90 to replace them and the plugs, well worth it for the peace of mind. As far as the parasitic draw, these vans are known to kill the batteries according to the Transit forum. Some claim that the door sensors cause a drain while others say the cargo lighting does. The batteries I’m testing religiously and keep checking the voltage. I charged both if them inside the shop today and wrote down before I left what the voltage was reading. I suspect the batteries aren’t holding a good charge and think maybe I don’t have a parasitic draw at all. Definitely going to fix the leak this week and next week concentrate on isolating the draw. I had a similar problem in my Honda and it turned out one of the AC relays was faulty. I also for got to mention, my friend checked the amperage draw on the system when the engine is turned off and it was 0.018 which to my knowledge is normal. But then again, I’m no expert by any means 🤣

I’ve already made $2600 in scrap this year using the Honda for transport so I’m way ahead of the game 🙂🍻👊🏼
