How come most people don't have lights in their basements/attics/houses when filming this kind of stuff? First thing I'd do if I heard strange noises would be to light up every corner of my entire house like a christmas tree

i walk around in the dark knowing that there is a chance, that whatever is there will not see me. or that i will see it before it sees me. i feel safer and hidden in the dark. when the lights are on you are out in the open and vulnerable. whatever is there knows exactly where you are.
Because darkness adds a dramatic effect when creating a fake ghost video. Those I believe are fake 100%.
A lot of attics don't have built in lights in my experience. And also, in that particular clip with the attic, they heard weird noises and probably didn't want to be up there too long so it's no wonder the guy didn't go searching for the light first thing.

Bitch, how are they supposed to catch ghosts in a lit area? Ghosts are more likely to be caught on camera when lights are off, and the dark adds effect to the atmosphere as well.
It amazes me that even in 2019, people still record with cameras from 2001
Aside from DoodleBobJr.'s comment, a lot of the footage is super zoomed in (either during shooting or editing), which of course reduces the resolution. Motion blur doesn't help either. I wish that more ghost hunters had the resources to record in 4K though. That'd be sweet.

He is a wonderful dad. I used to be neighbors with him and hang out over there all the time and can tell you that whatever happens on his videos are not fake whatsoever. I have seen and heard things from him and around there that will make you a true believer in the paranormal.

You know there was a case of a person hearing sounds from the basement and fortunately she did the smart thing and called the cops and did not investigate on her own. Turns out some dude was actually living in her basement and is armed with a knife.. Taunting her so she would go check what's doing the noise.

Of all of these, the balloon one is legit the creepiest. The attic one is creepy, but not likely real, so going with the balloon.
the attic one seem legit because of how scare the woman was, but then kinda ruin it when they added "my precious" from lord of the rings in it.
I wouldn't say its creepy but the most legit one in my opinion was the one with the ball since it couldn't of been pushed by the wind or dragged with a string because if it was it would of just simply be rolling but it looks more like its being pushed down and foward.

The balloon one seems the most real, the setting is at a hospital in a place where death is daily. Also in a country where faking a supernatural would leave you somewhat of an outcast in society. I don't think that's worth a TH-cam video from a bunch of grown adults...

Around the 5 minute marker where the basement dweller ghost whatever is. The face is transparent and it moves with the camera so my guess is it's fake.
@Major Motoko Kusanagi True, but if they really did see something then the camera most definitely would've captured what it was. I just find it hard to believe that legit spirits would manifest so abruptly like that. They do make appearance in their energy manifestation via orbs. However, the mask or face was so obviously CGI.
@Major Motoko Kusanagi I think, the prison clip was as abrupt as spirits can be... They just don't come at you like that... The worst thing you could come across is a poltergeist, but you can't see them as they too appear as energy, it's very negative energy though.
I don't have my glasses with me, but to me it kind of looked somewhat like a face from a twilight poster or a random horror movie poster I have seen before at walmart. But that is just an assumption of mine.

Yeah, I feel a lot of it context and inflection, just as with lots of other things. I've met plenty of grown men who call girls things like that who were extremely sweet and big-hearted. It kind of just sounds like something related to a bad personal experience on your end more so than a general thing. It's extremely relative.

The balloon one was the scariest, simply because it seems so real. The number one video is scary as f', but the way the camera pans from creepy scenery to frightened wife and back and then the final jump scare was just all too well-staged. That thing that came from the attic, made me jump, I got goosebumps, it looked like an old man or Gollum from Lord of the Rings.
When my youngest child dislocated his knee and required emergency surgery, I spent about 6 hours alone in the waiting room of a well-reputed children's hospital. Everyone else had gone home around midnight. One automatic interior door kept opening on its own; I timed it to see if it was set up that way, but it was very random. I decided to sit right in front of the door and try to take pictures when it opened again, not really expecting anything. When I looked through them, I was very surprised to see a very dark shadow figure of what appeared to be a little boy on one of my photos. Other strange things happened during our nearly two-week stay, including a mylar balloon going nuts in my kids room, even though the air circulator was off at the time, and a small black shadow moving along the baseboards of the room. This is a very old hospital and I guess it has seen some pretty awful stuff over the years.

I think there is actually a way to fake goosebumps. If I remember correctly, Rhett and Link did an episode on it (or it was included in a list of things) on Good Mythical Morning. Rhett couldn't do it, but Link could. He just recalled a specifical memory, a scene from a movie that had given him goosebumps (I think it was the scene when Gandalf made his first as the White?) and voila! Mind over body. Not something everyone can do, but it can be done!
That last one with the Snapchat filter is f**king incredible. Her voice being made to sound like a chipmunk as she's cussing and telling it to stay away from her is pure gold regardless of whether there was an actual ghost or not.

Beau Cheney I believe the ball more than the shadow. The ball is a physical object that isn’t easy to manipulate the way it moves without touching it with something visible. The shadow could be edited in easily

If I remember right, goose bumps are a leftover from caveman-ish times when we were much harrier - they allowed our hair to stand on end when we were frightened and needed to look bigger, or when we were cold and needed to get warm. So I think a cool breeze could cause them?
