Great battle report Ed! Quick question about the wood you put down, did you choose to play it as difficult or dangerous terrain? I’m always unsure which is best, I like the dangerous terrain option if an opponent is likely to get to my lines, but then again it means that whenever I pop my glade rider reserve move bunker unit into it to shoot each model will have to take two dangerous terrain tests and they don’t have move through cover.
Thanks! As per SBOT it's dangerous for Cav unfortunately - it's just a normal wood that follows all regular Cav rules. Lost 4 Glade Riders over 2 turns last night to my own wood!
Might not be relevant but are the glade riders with the banner deployed in open order? They'd need to be in order for the characters to join them as the stags are monstrous cav, not light cav (skirmishers can only be joined by characters of same troop type). I take glade riders as skirmishers usually which is why I was wondering.
Congrats on the win round 1! The two stags are an interesting choice over a dragon especially with the vanguarding glade riders. I'm not sure I agree it's "better", but I'm keen to see how you make out with it.
I think the second Stag is being a special snowflake - one stag and more shooting is likely the best variation of the list. Even before poison I wasn't a Forest Dragon believer - as the WE player you can outmanoeuvre the opponent ('s dragon) so you don't start a match into a dragon ~350 points down the way you might with less mobile armies
I love seeing the 3D view of the battlefield, but man… you thought the text was impossibly small in the lists? Please zoom in!! The entire dwarf force appears about 1/5th the size of my fingernail!
@@CloseOrder Thanks mate. Sorry for the unclear wording--I meant the 3d view of the battle map! I like listening to your vids when walking my dog, but that map was impossible to see on my phone

@@CloseOrdercor blimey! Thems nasty woods! Thankfully our tree singing wood vortexes are a bit more forgiving to us!
Woot! The wood elf pillar of fire list is pretty strong but theres a lot of room for things to go wrong. Just so complex to play
It's such a fun and engaging list to play.
Not to play against, but it's so satisfying to pull off

The Vanguard Squad is in open order, yes - which unlocks the potential to Marching Column them and move 32" T1 (between Vanguard and Marching)

I suprise how not much unit make 2 k lis; i expeted to need much more for 2k ...
Yeah I've gone very heavy on expensive (points-wise) models here!
Fyi, the markers for the Miners cannot be placed in your deployment zone ;)
Yup! They're just outside of it

Oh! I'm with you
I've taken screenshots of my next game already, but I'll have a play around for future videos
Where are the combat elves?
The two Stags are my combat punch in this list
The eternal guard got sent to a nice farm up near the Moot. They're very happy. No you can't visit.
