In his younger days, James Mitchell was a talented ballet dancer. In "Oklahoma" film, he dances as Dream Curly. In a YT clip, he's magnificent dancing with Cyd Charisse in 1954 film "Deep In My Heart". He was a favorite dancer of choreographer Agnes DeMille.
I love watching that Dream Ballet. Agnes DeMille said he had strong arms.
That whole "outtake" clip of Palmer was completely improvised by James Mitchell, who passed away shortly after it was filmed. The scene was supposed to be part of the documentary Haley did about Pine Valley (for AMC's 40th anniversary), but once they got what they needed, James told them to keep the camera rolling for a little bit so he could talk in character as Palmer, but without a script. He clearly was unwell yet he was nonetheless very determined to play the character right until the very end. The writers structured this tribute episode around that clip. (RIP James Mitchell.)

I kinda hated Opal at times, lol, in Jill Larson's early days on the show. Opal could be such a meddler. But it never lasted. She's a great character.

So the flashback of Adam getting shot by Palmer- that was just a cover, they showed back in 2003-2004 that it was actually Erica who accidentally shot Adam, not Palmer. It was a big part of the “who shot Micheal Cambias” storyline. But Adams and Palmer both knew it was Erica and made up that story to cover for her. So it’s weird for Adam to say Palmer shot him.

@@MJ-cc4uf She came back to AMC a few times after that. In fact, when she left in 1992 she said she'd come back to the occasional wedding or funeral

@@MJ-cc4uf the OP was asking why she didn't appear in the 2010 episode at which time she was very much alive. The show is over, so she wouldn't be appearing now anyway even if she was alive

Peter Bergman was at that time established as Jack Abbott #2 on The Young & The Restless in Los Angeles and since it was owned by Sony and All My Children owned by Disney it wouldn't be possible. In The UK James Mitchell and David Canary would have gotten an Award for Best Double Act in the sense they bring out the best in their performances. Remember the Scene at The Bar and they were followed by Tad and saw JR. That was a classic.

Yes. He didn't keep it a secret but people "knew". He was also a former Ballet Dancer who was also in The Turning Point with Shirley McClaine & Anne Bancroft. Gillian Spencer is also a Legend. First As The Adult Robin Fletcher on Guiding Light, then as Jennifer Hughes on As The World Turns, as well as Vicky Lord #1 on One Life To Live and wrote for Another World. She also was on The Secret Storm and The Edge Of Night.
Were Adam and Palmer ALWAYS Old??? Seems like every scene I've ever seen of either of them they were the white haired fox rivals of PV
Check out some of the later clips or episodes of Bonaza David Canary played a cowboy named Candy kind of a honorary member of the Cartwright family and he had jet black air.
I liked Adam and Palmer especially before the writers watered them down.

David Canary was much younger than James Mitchell. He was only in his mid 40s when he joined the case of AMC. But because of his white hair he played much older
