I was on the crew and was the Music Mixer for this and many shows. I think we won the Emmy for Live to Tape Sound Mixing because of this show. It was one of my favorites.
Well, Gary, thank you for your work. I've always admired how GH's incidental music never intruded on the story, yet GH always had the best end-of-scene stings since "Dark Shadows"!!! :)
My heart goes out to the music supervisors because it's so hard to pick the right music. We had about 6 female producers and it was hard for the music directors to pick a song for a montage that they all agreed on. Actually there were many scenes that we gave each other a high five then the door opened and we heard "I hate the music". I am extremely proud of what I did there. I watch shows and movies now and am amazed for what they come up with because I know how hard it is.
beautiful sets and clothing, wonderful performances, a true class act... not like today. but abc soaps in those days? they were the very best..and those who watch today have no idea what they missed...
Wow! That was so deep when Stone told AJ that he had Aids. Poor Robin's facial expression was no don't say it. That was so powerful. I saw this video clip of General Hospital because I saved a copy of it in one in my Playlist.
“When I found out I had AIDS…” I remember watching this when it first aired on TV…and I was sooooo freakin’ GLAD Stone told AJ off like that! Shut his big mouth up real quick, didn’t it!
The reason AJ never grew up was because his problems were also taken care of by someone in the family. In my book both AIDS and cancer are the most scariest diseases in the medical dictionary.
I was watching her part when I read your comment - I think she sure was fabulous! I do know sadly she is gone now, but wanted to look her up to see when - and it was only months after this!! 😭 She passed away Halloween 1995…
Yup. I always cringed when Ricky Martin or Jack Wagner/John Stamos sang/performed on the show but I thought Ned's band was solid and didn't play weak, pop pablum. Rick Springfield was the show's music highlight to my ears.
jon linstrum (kevin/ryan) is playing the tin man..tony jones is the scarecrow emily ( monica and alan adopted daughter) played Dorothy. Alan is the lion
Dorothy = Emily Quartermaine (Amber Tamblyn) Scarecrow = Tony Jones (Brad Maule) Tin Man = Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) Lion = Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon)
I'm digitizing a boatload of VHS tapes. This was just one of my treasures. I have NO idea what else I'll find, but ABC soaps were the reason I bought my first VCR, so, as they say... ...stay tuned. (In the mean time, search out my collection of promos for The "Loving" Murders. I got those from ABC on AOL in 1994.)
Who would of thought that years later that Laura and Kevin would be a couple! I've also liked Lucy and Kevin, and Eve and Kevin from the sister soap Port Charles.🙂
The Nurses' Ball was truly, truly wonderful back then. Now it's mostly crap. They spend a ton of time on the red carpet which is just ridiculous. There are about 5 times fewer acts than before, and the focus is on young men striping in front of their mothers. It's disgusting and its crappy now.
Geez it’s hard to believe that this was almost 30 years ago!
This Nurses Ball Hit the Nail. So perfectly, a Great Ball. Thanks General Hospital.
I MISS THIS KIND OF NURSE'S BALL
Love the Wizard of Oz theme
Ned is going to sing again this year!
28 yrs later!
This is my favorite Nurse's ball scene! Wow, they did an amazing job!
Agreed!!!!
Another one of my favorites is when Emily and Edward sing the song from the movie Annie. Great performances.

Wow, great job....in my opinion, nurse's ball one of GH's best parts!!!!!
must have been a grand experience...
@MrscaringuySeek help. And manners.

GH scored real talent back in 1995.
Stuart Damon was incredible!
He sure was!
i loved Prince Charming and it is a delight to see and hear him once more...❤
So we’re Tony and Kevin.
yes, indeed!
Wow! That was so deep when Stone told AJ that he had Aids. Poor Robin's facial expression was no don't say it. That was so powerful. I saw this video clip of General Hospital because I saved a copy of it in one in my Playlist.
General Hospital was at its best in the 1990's.
The OZ scene is one of the best Ever! The ball has lost its polish.
Oh wow I have vague memories of this Nurse’s Ball
I miss these two
They were all so good.
“When I found out I had AIDS…”

Only issue is they should not have interrupted the Oz scenes with Ned and Lois.
I’m watching the Ned and Lois love story video collection and part 69 doesn’t contain the Wizard of Oz number, so I had to search for it.
Thank you very much 💞. I loved all the singing 💓. Especially all the wizard of oz 🌻🎃🌻. It was great seeing so many familiar faces.
it was fun remembering them, right?
Yes! I miss Edward, Lila, Steve, Marymae, and Bobbie. Such great actors.
Love the nurses ball love it every yrs
Rosalind Cash was incredible

Rena Sofer, who played Lois, named her firstborn daughter, Rosabel Rosalind in honor of Rosalind Cash.
Miss Neds band they kicked ass

This so very cute.
Was there more of Jon's speech, or is that where it ended? Thanks for sharing!
RIP, John
Remember this like yesterday
Rena Sofer hasn't aged!
I was surprised to find out that Rena Sofer was once married in real-life to Wally Kurth, who plays Ned on the show.
Was this the first Nurses Ball? If not I think it's one of the best. Great costumes, acting, singing and not all that silly paparazzi they show now.
google it
Denise Pomeroy no I believe it was the 2nd one
I think the first was 93 or 94
@@ginnyweatherbee7941 It was 94, the Bobbie/Damian s/l.
This was the 2nd Nurses' Ball.
They should recreate this theme.
Love Ned

Whodda thunk that Jon Linstrom would be the last one standing...
Lindstrom*
Luke and Lucky on stage. AWESOME
A shame the entire Oz thing could not play out with out interruption from the Ned and girl scenes.
This must be the night Brook Lynn was conceved
That's Lois, BROOKLYN'S MOM
The first Nurses Ball was in 1994
How, in the name of any digital restoration procedures, did you manage to keep this video so well done?
I'm digitizing a boatload of VHS tapes. This was just one of my treasures. I have NO idea what else I'll find, but ABC soaps were the reason I bought my first VCR, so, as they say...

I don't know. It sure as hell wasn't clean living! :)
Ned singing?? Wow
This is Eddie Maine aka WALLY KURTH
I miss those days of General Hospital.
Me Too!!!
Who would of thought that years later that Laura and Kevin would be a couple! I've also liked Lucy and Kevin, and Eve and Kevin from the sister soap Port Charles.🙂
No kidding!
I have loved every Kevin pairing, but Laura and Kevin is a breath of fresh air, not to mention calm, cool, collected...
@@charliecat654 Sure is! Love Kevin and Laura together! ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for restoring and posting. Is that Lily?
It sure is.
