You’re right. He has given a few versions of his sordid story over the years. And NO ONE has called him out for it.
When he, his brother Mike and Mike Prokes were questioned soon after the murders, did you notice how cagy and suspicious they all were when being questioned? The Carters were very smarmy and defensive. And Mike Prokes didn’t say anything, that I’ve ever heard about.
I think that they were the ones who did the shooting that night and shot Jim spent hours collecting the money and valuables, then made up their ridiculous story about taking the money to the Russian Embassy in case they got caught.
I also think that one or all of them raped Maria Katsaras.
Did anyone else notice in another video of Jim’s cabin that Maria was lying face up on the floor and her jeans were half way down and looked like someone tried to pull them back up but couldn’t do it properly because she was dead weight, then gave up? Just an observation.
It’s probably a mean thing to say, but I believe that the ALL KNEW ABOUT THE POISONING and did nothing about it because they wanted to get out of their with the money and rid themselves of their wives and children. I believe that with my whole heart.
And I think that the extreme guilt and remorse got to Mike Prokes so he killed himself.
I really wish all of the other tapes and documents weren’t destroyed, lost or hidden.
      I’m addicted to this tragedy.

I guess the lesson is allow yourself to have boundries and don't let others cross those boundries. Never ever allow anyone to gain full control over your life and if someone is trying to get out.

There are many practicing preachers still today that preach the same way today. They manipulate and put guilt upon the congregation because they don't see it like they do. They may not try to get them to drink poison . They do however condemn a person in a congregation that may have differences. People who preach and condemn a member that may have strayed is just like Jones. They kill the love that they may have with others in a congregation. If you preach like this ? Examine yourself before you eliminate an imperfect person. That is what we all are.

Jim Jones was just a tool of the devil to lead people astray and end up in hell like he did. All cults do the same thing, they never want anybody to leave, that's how you know it's a cult. Christianity is nothing like this, The Bible tells us that at one point Jesus Himself asked His disciples "Do you also want to leave"? They were free to do so but they decided to stay and follow Jesus!

His children all died with the exception of the two who were at a basketball tournament. They tried to get help from American and Guyanese embassies while in Georgetown. Jones told them to kill themselves, too; but they refused. Poor Stephan (the only biological child of Jones), saw the horror of Sharon Amos (the radio operator/Jones devotee) dead in bathroom of Headquarters. She slit her and 3 of her children’s throats on order of Jones through the radio transmission while Stephan and others tried (in vain) to get help. He didn’t know then it was already too late.

There are many examples of how absolute power corrupts absolutely. Predators disguise themselves as protectors all the time. Did you know, Hitler wrote a play while he was in jail? He convinced people to blindly follow along to the tune of the toot of his horn into trouble. To violate fellow humans! There's a difference between learning from others and following their examples! He duped his followers, like Charles Manson on his ranch, or Jim Jones in Guyana, and Putin in Russia! I'll tell you now what I taught my own to maintain their autonomy. Be wise with how you allow others to influence you. Always follow your own conscience!

Isaiah 53:5, But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes, we are healed. For salvation, people just need to follow the way they did it in Acts? They were baptized in the water and of the spirit. Here's why! The gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. If we are to follow him, we must do the same thing. Death= repentance, Burial = baptism, and resurrection = being filled with the Holy Ghost and rising again from the dead. That's what Acts 2:38 is.We must obey the gospel, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that OBEY NOT THE GOSPEL of our Lord Jesus Christ... Matthew 7:21-23, Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH THE WILL OF MY FATHER which is in Heaven. St John 3:3-5, EXCEPT a man be born of WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT, he cannot enter into the kingdom of GOD.We can't come up with our own gospel. Galatians 1:8-9, But though we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Don't be cursed. One way for all people. Jews, Gentiles, and Samaritan. Our salvation has to match-up with the scriptures and no scriptures on the subject can be taken away.Eternity is TOOO long to be WRONG! st, John 5:39, Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.God told Noah exactly how to be saved, how he must build the ark. Noah didn't come up with his own plan like people are doing today. A sinner's prayer, you just have to believe, etc which is not in the bible. The gospels show what Christ has done on the cross for us. The book of Acts shows us the beginning of Christ's Church and how to enter the Church, obeying Acts 2:38. The letters were written to the Church to show us how to behave now that we are born again into the Church. It's better to walk alone than to walk with a crowd going in the wrong direction. Are we supposed to follow the teachings of the apostles? Acts 2:42, They continued steadfastly in the apostle's doctrines. Ephesians 2:20, We are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone. If you believe in this message, help spread it in the name of Jesus Christ. God bless you.
