Absolutely agree with you... I believe it should be reconstructed to faithful reproduction just to show others what it SHOULD BE LIKE... it can be done to a positive twist as was truly intended.
I remember when this happened. No one could believe 900+ people were forced into suicide. Jim Jones didn't even drink the Kool-aid. He shot himself in the head. Pure evil happened here
@Cheez-it166 .... I remember when this happened too by seeing it on TV ABC News. It was Flavor-Aid mixed with cyanide that they drank. Yes they were all forced into suicide so really it was a murder suicide. My father was a former Baptist Minister/Pastor and this really affected him when it happened. After this happened, it was very hard for people especially ones who were not saved and didn't know Christ, to trust clergy of many denominations because of Jim Jones and his false teachings and evil ways. Jim Jones I believe, was not only mentally disturbed and an evil man but I feel he was possessed as well. Yes, pure evil did happen there in Jonestown. May all those poor people rest in peace for all eternity.
I've only heard of this today and I just cannot process what this person was thinking. I get that there's these speeches he made addressing how he claimed to believe that it was good but I just don't get it. It's like an actual horror movie hearing about the lives of those who escaped and what happened to the majority who were trapped

Hi Danny thanks for showing us this, my entire life I had wanted to see this place and I am in my 70 s , I applaud you brother, The Guyana Government should put up a monument there.
Recall seeing a troop carrier flying over essequibo coast at the time, one was refueling mid air, high in the sky and my parents talking about it. Was on the cover of time magazine, we had a copy in the house. Haunting photos😢
Leo Ryan made a mistake when he came back and showed the Letter to Jim jones..when he receaved it he should go away without say anything and tell the govermment
That was Bob Harris, the journalist, that did that. What truly sealed his fate, though, was the fact even more residents were begging to leave with Ryan. As he went with them to collect their belongings, he was attacked by Don Sly, so had to exit quickly, leaving behind the ones who wanted to go with him.
@@cherrytraveller5915 No, there were more that wanted to leave with him. If you listen to what Ryan says after being attacked with a knife, he mentions being with other families & walking back to their camps to grab their stuff. That's when he was attacked, so had to leave certain people behind

Good video .thanks ARD. Its not a temple it was more like a gated community where they kept the people in and its a shame the Guyanese government did not have a memorial site of that tragedy. I think it because majority of the people that was killed are American citizens.

Why would they want to remember that..Nothing good about people who choose to serve man instead of God. It's only sad for the innocent babies who knew no better.
The people of Jonestown had the right intention to unite people regardless of color or socio-economic background. Jim was not well and surrounded himself with yes people. A Narc is always able to stretch and expand boundaries and truth and the people went along with it. The Jungle has swallowed up the remnants of Jonestown. Imagine if Jim was not ill and was really doing the work of the divine, what the people of Jonestown could have accomplished.

Denny, Thank you once again for taking us along on another one of your fascinating and interesting journeys, but I sincerely hope that the name "Jonestown" will be removed, as that was a very dark period. From what I've seen in your pictures, the potential is there to make a super resort, using local architecture to build accomodation etc. Companies such as "Club Robinson" and "Club Mediterranee" etc.,I am sure would be interested in a collaboration with Guyana. It would provide jobs for many of the people there. I have visited these clubs and they are always located in places similar to what you have shown.
Some people always want to rewrite history. It happened. Building a resort in place of it wouldn't change that fact. It should remain the beautiful forest that is and with the memory intact. Maybe construct a memorial where the Jonestown sign is and close the road behind it. Let all history live on. It always dies with time. In 2078, we'll be lucky to be alive to remember what happened where.😅
A special thanks to Team ARD, on this awesome adventure. I always wanted to see Jonestown, where that cult leader Jim Jones did to all those people. I hope the Guyanese government build a monumental historical site where people can visit. Keep on doing what you're doing, you have an amazing TH-cam channel.

Hmmm…I remember this, I’d just started at Bishops’. My dad did a study of the settlement, (think he worked for the Cooperative Development Ministry at the time)and had travelled to Jonestown and met Jones and other Temple members… He had told us that Jones had had a pet chimpanzee on the settlement. We Guyanese on the coast were oblivious to the horrific massacre in the interior… and even when we got copies of the first book about the massacre we viewed the event quite disconnectedly.I remember the People’s Temple radio broadcasts airing about 2pm during the week… Thank you for sharing.
@@gmseasy I don’t think there were any Guyanese on the settlement🤔. There may have been a few Guyanese working at the headquarters in Georgetown. It’s likely that had there been Guyanese on the settlement, word would have gotten out sooner about Jones’s reluctance to let members leave the settlement. USA Congressman Leo Ryan went to Jonestown to investigate reports of Americans being held against their will on the settlement…that was the event that led to the catastrophe.

We never heard of Jonestown until the tragedy. You and your team risked your health walking through the jungle to showcase this part of Guyana. The aerial view was captivating. Apart from Jonestown, the other areas you travelled through need a lot of improvements for the locals.
Living in NY, going to college for the past four years and the topic of Jonestown came up numerous of times and i’ve become more interested. I came across this video within this year and i’m so grateful that someone shared this experience to take this trip to see what Jonestown is today. Although it is a very disturbing story for our fellow lost souls on this land, what has happened stays within us all. Jonestown is absolutely of my interest to share amongst those who do not know about Guyana or this horrific history. As I go every year, i’m hoping to take this trip soon! Thank you for sharing this documentary!!!
I’m on Long Island you want to go to jones town together? 36.m.ny ❤
Hey, when you go I hope you put a documentary up on here. I'm in England so it's a bit tough for me to reach the place, but would love to see more videos by visitors
Good afternoon Danny..beautiful video showing us places we or I never heard of amazing..I remembered that incident I was 14 yrs old when it happened so sad😢..keep up the great work stay safe and be blessed 🙏❤
Danny, now I must say "there is no place Danny, and his team will not go". Thanks for the tour even though it is covered in bush family members and the public I know feel the emotions connected with such loss. You're a great narrator. Thanks again and I feel this will help the authorities to open this for the public to visit. Time we cherish this place with a memorial spot.
Absolutely agree with you... I believe it should be reconstructed to faithful reproduction just to show others what it SHOULD BE LIKE... it can be done to a positive twist as was truly intended.
Watching from Toronto, Canada 😀. Thank you for your videos of my beautiful Guyana. Enjoy them tremendously.
Hi Danny ARD good morning and how are you doing 😊, l always like your video of the different places in Guyana 🇬🇾 and you are not afraid of going to places like the jungles, water and even the darkest places, l commended you for that may God bless you 😊 and always keep you safe 😊, thank you for the journey not the destination, much 😊 love and how can life get better than this 😊 ❤️ ☺️ thank 😊 Buddy
Thanks Danny for sharing this journey with us. I was 5 yrs old when this happened in Guyana and vaguely remember it. Keep up the good work! I hope you and your family are doing well. ❤ from Texas.
Thanks for that video, bro. I hope they make it a memorial for all those people who lost their lives.
Watching from Texas. 👍
Thank you Denny for the beautiful video of our beautiful land ❤️❤️❤️
May it be reclaimed by the earth, and may the lessons never be forgotten
went to jonestown in 1982 via UG- national service at port kaituma, they were many small buildings.trucks,clothes.cups still visible.i walk on jim jones house flooring, the roof was gone, lots of orange and banana along trail to jim jones, over 100 students went on that trip
We're there really caves under the camp?
@@Caravroomvroom interesting info, you ever found out more about this ?
@hermes3354 Victoria was 8 miles away
@@hermes3354yes it was called Georgetown caves or kayman caves or crystal caves right under Lindberg and Georgetown.
I really enjoyed this video🌺All the best from Antigua 🇦🇬 and Barbuda 🇦🇬
Hi Danny thanks for showing us this, my entire life I had wanted to see this place and I am in my 70 s , I applaud you brother, The Guyana Government should put up a monument there.
They should
Wow Thank you ARD for bird eyes view. I was born in Mathewridge and grew up part of my childhood days there
Recall seeing a troop carrier flying over essequibo coast at the time, one was refueling mid air, high in the sky and my parents talking about it. Was on the cover of time magazine, we had a copy in the house. Haunting photos😢
Leo Ryan made a mistake when he came back and showed the Letter to Jim jones..when he receaved it he should go away without say anything and tell the govermment
Ryan's fate was sealed as soon as he set foot in Jonestown. There is so much more to this story than one man's madness.
@@doriangray5750 no those people were recorded boarding the planes
@@cherrytraveller5915 No, there were more that wanted to leave with him. If you listen to what Ryan says after being attacked with a knife, he mentions being with other families & walking back to their camps to grab their stuff. That's when he was attacked, so had to leave certain people behind
I would like when i come to Guyana i wil reach Ard an his beautiful family from Suriname
Hey good morning love every thing that u doing u keep me lively u showed me place that I never see in Guyana keep up all the good work hope to meet u some days
Wowww I’ve always wondered when you’ll take us on this journey. Thank you so much for the insight. Watched the movie when I was a little girl and kept up with the updates. Interesting yet sad part of history
Thkz f showing my BUITY ful country I always hair about dis place watching f USA born Guyanese I love my country blessings 🙏🏾❤️❤️👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Good video .thanks ARD. Its not a temple it was more like a gated community where they kept the people in and its a shame the Guyanese government did not have a memorial site of that tragedy. I think it because majority of the people that was killed are American citizens.
They should set up a memorial site for the victims
Does anyone have any clue if its in the talk for a memorial site at Madia?
No one had the vision to set the place up as a memorial site. Jones town is Guyana history
@@cliffm8112 well that's a shame.I have been living in NY for 25 plus years and worked amongst lots of white Americans and hardly any of them knows where Guyana is and almost all of the have heard about Jim Jones and have knowledge about Jonestown.its really a shame how Guyana failed to preserve its history .
Why would they want to remember that..Nothing good about people who choose to serve man instead of God. It's only sad for the innocent babies who knew no better.
That was history for guyana lots of people didn't know of Jonestown
The people of Jonestown had the right intention to unite people regardless of color or socio-economic background. Jim was not well and surrounded himself with yes people. A Narc is always able to stretch and expand boundaries and truth and the people went along with it. The Jungle has swallowed up the remnants of Jonestown. Imagine if Jim was not ill and was really doing the work of the divine, what the people of Jonestown could have accomplished.
I remember the first Police album had been released more or less at this period. And any time I hear one the songs of the album I think about this tragedy.
Very interesting. I've been so intrigued by this story since I heard about it in 2008. Thanks for sharing.
Where’s the concrete monument that was made on site? It was in a clearing only a few years ago. Crazy that it’s lost to the jungle already
Hello great video but a very sad story
"Those who forget to remember the past, is condemned to repeat it" reverend Jim Jones😢😮
The quote is by George Santayana not Jim Jones.
Many More like him.Born and grew up in Guyana, never heard about J.T. until that Tragic Day .Monster.
Every year they show a movie of Jonestown in the U.S. like your journeys.
Guyana is beautiful.
Never ever built something their again. Spirits on high level 😮
That horrific event destroyed tourism in our beautiful country for decades the states still owes our country for that because they knew he was a insane vigilante and still gave him the green light to leave. Promoting the area with the largest suicide event in the world isn’t a good look for tourism. It should be a memorial for those people that lost their lives.Big up Danny for showing us the area for educational and awareness purposes.
What tourism? Guyana never had any tourist to talk about. I don't know what kind of Guyanese are you if you do not know a simple fact like that.
@@josephwinslow7613 stop being ignorant you clearly aren’t Guyanese to even join in this topic >>>>>
he chose your country because your crooked government can easily be paid off and because your country is english. Also the people did it to themselves speaking.
Jones left the USA before he could be arrested. And yeah like already mentioned Guyana was not a tourist destination and pretty much still isn't 😅.
Uh, that’s on your country for giving him a visa. Nobody prevents their citizens from leaving a country except for dictatorship like North Korea.
Good morning ARD AND FAMILY'S. God bless you with long life keep up with your great adventures and be safe and not forgetting how can life get better than this ❤i
GM Ard i remember that story i was in my teens so sad but i see the film on tv thank you for showing us the place after so many years myself and husband watch for Suriname
I was born in the Geary st Filmore building on Steiner and I just found out about Guyana. My family were cold case murdered, kidnapped, and from poisoning. 13 of them were under 21. My best friend, my nephew, my cousin, and my kitten died from poison these last 2 years.
We grew up not allowed to watch the news or read the newspaper.... Then are family separated in different congregations and then died left n right.
@@Caravroomvroomyou mean in Jonestown?
@@damienlc8895I just found out about Jim Jones people's Temple from San Francisco who chose people to go to Jonestown and Georgetown Guyana 8miles away from Victoria Guyana.
Thank u Mr Danny,I long wanted to see what's the out come of Jones town I was still in Guyana, never knew such place existed, until the massacre ,wen migrated to USA then we learn the true story ,very sad ,so thanks an keep up the great work ,God bless u an family ,🙏🌺🌷🇱🇷
Thanks for posting this video. So interested to see how the jungle has reclaimed Jonestown and probably for the best. One thing, is the People’s Temple house still in Georgetown? Have you got any footage of visiting that place if it is?
The US Government should build a memorial monument for all the Americans died here.
there is a monument but i think its over grown
who would visit a ghost town in the middle of the jungle to pay their respects to a whole bunch of brainwashed psycho 70s drug addicts.
Most of the Americans who died there were Black.
They left the US because they hated it and essentially wanted to start their own country.
We owe them nothing.
Last time I was in port kaituma about 7 years ago, was a on work related, was a nice experience
I will wait anxiously 😂for the rest of Jim Jones Town. Stay safe always 😊
It was a sad all over the world ! Thank you for sharing
Beautiful country beautiful people I love to go there and I love to visit Jonestown and take photos feel the energy see if everything is at peace 🕊️ I pray 🙏🏽 for them everyday and may they be at peace but the area should be prayed over also due to the tradegy but there is still love because before the tragedy it was happy peaceful love everyone took pride and love in the land building growing food so there still some love left in the lands
You are doing a wonderful job showing guyana to the world. I was in the National Service at Papaya. CAN YOU ARRANGE WITH THE AUTHORITIES TO VISIT THESE CENTERS . I WONDER WHAT HAS BECOME OF THESE CENTERS
Thanks for telling this story and history lesson just found your channel ❤
Thanks for watching!
Here watching & showing support bro
Thank you very much for showing us. Very touching indeed. History
A sight seeing place would be great. All the American bodies were returned back to the USA including one Guyanese body which was returned back to Guyana. What a tragedy 😢
Several people were saved and talked about the massacre. I remember one documentary that featured Jim Jones 's son spoke about it and one senior black American hid herself somewhere in her barrack and refused to go to the spot where JimJones commanded his people to drink the cyanide .
Thanks for sharing this video. I was a teenager, but I can still remember what people suffered under the hands of Jim Jones. It will be a very nice concept for the government of Guyana 🇬🇾 to develop that location into a tourist destination.
Wow, can't believe the sign for Jonestown is still there. Beautiful drone footage of God's green earth.
Very interesting, thank you for sharing 🇨🇦
Amazing road trip to jonestown with friends and meeting fan
This is an eye opener for this Hooiser!!
Thanks
Blessings to all the reigning spirits in Jonestown 🙏continue to make it your home BUT my beautiful country GuYaNa 🇬🇾 Peace ☮️ y’all One love ❤️ 🙏❤️🇨🇦🙏❤️🇨🇦
My husband did a blues/Metal song about the horrors that happened in this place. Jones Town Blues. Its not out yet but soon will be.
Como se llama?
In 2078, we'll be lucky to be alive to remember what happened where.😅
Most brutal and demonic thing that a person can do to another persons. This beast Jim jones was sick and twisted.
He did nothing to those people 😂 they chose to follow man and not GOD
@@gmseasy are you kidding?! He murdered people
@@gmseasythey went to Guyana with good intentions. Although there were definitely red flags before Jonestown, he didn’t become completely crazy and on drugs until they got to Jonestown
Morning ARD and family god bless 🙏👍🏼😎
Jim Jones Never believed In The Word of God.He was a deceiver. He preached some kind of word but Not The true Word.
There is no TRUE word
@Kwikasfuk636 and u proved this How..?
@beshamshew4236 The answer to how life was created is a theological mystery at this point. It should be noted that from a current theoretical physics perspective, we also have zero evidence of physical matter either at subaromic scale. Meanwhile, over half of the world's population belongs to religions, that beleive life's a dream. No one knows, so there can be no claim over the factual base of another man's philosophical word.
Guyana is splendid. Would love to visit one day.
🦡 ❤️ 🇦🇷 🇵🇭 🇲🇽*
Thank you for posting this. I was always curious to know what Kaituma was like. There is no way they will turn Jonestown into a tourist destination. Absolutely pointless and profitless
That “brunch” was 😋😋 the scenes are incredible.
Did any locals join them? Or was it only crazy Americans
A very special good evening to you and your family, my husband is a huge fan of you and ever since he learned about your program he never miss any, however I do have one request 🙏my request is for you to take a trip to port island if possible thank you god bless you your family and team 🙏❤
Port island or fort island
I think you're doing a really great job man!
thanks
Love how peaceful and laid back the town looks in the beginning of the video
Danny thanks for showing us what Jonestown is like now. I was surprised to see the sign still up. Seeing where Port Kaituma airstrip is and Jonestown, now I can make the connection where the people got shot. Well what can we say when the massacre happened, that's when people see Guyana on the map. That was so sad. Danny you took the risk going into the jungle with Captain Black Boy and his wife. Waiting to see Mathews ridge. Take care.
I remember this when it happened, including the shooting of the people including the US congressman. Sad situation to this day.
