Refunding $25 is worse than being insulted.
I choked on a steak at the Keg, the manager gave me a $10 discount.
It’s like tipping your waiter a nickel.
Exactly.!!!
Air Canada marketing slogan:
"We're not happy until you're not happy".
😂😂
Air Canada puffing ways too many Marijuana.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
❤❤❤❤❤ true
@first-gordonchang9510 I'm in the stars right now. I'd let you on if you told me ur name
No surprise it was Air Canada, I’ve had several bad experiences with them. Never fly with them again. You can’t fix stupid.
The person at the counter was on a power trip. They could’ve issued a statement like “go get this replaced, it’s your lucky day I could not let you fly”..or something.
@@LuvableAF Exactly this! We flew Air Canada to Edmonton from Pearson this past week for a family wedding and what was fine smooth sailing in Toronto was a nit picky, eye rolling headache in Edmonton. The gate keeping Grand Poobahs behind the counter apparently have a lot of discretion in how they choose to interpret the rules and regs with a lot of room for variants between one airport and the next even though both airports are in Canada.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Air Canada is arrogant and crappy.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
So basically don't fly with Air Canada...got it...
Or WestJet
Dont fly west jet either! Worse believe it or not
25$ Refund? what is that refunding, an extra baggage charge?
Actually, that's half of an extra baggage charge.
I would understand for a damage on the name / passport number. However, for the top of the page, it's non-sense.
Air canada has a really bad attitude When that company was going Going bankrupt they should have just let it go bye bye
@@clyde2027i yup
when bankruptcy is near, willing take everyone's tax dollars, doesn't matter if you have a damaged passport or no passport.
@@jarnailbrar6732 they take the money for the flight but refuse boarding. No refund. They are crooks.
Typical Air Canada.
I do whatever it takes to NOT fly Air Canada.
Air Canada being terrible to passengers? Sounds about right.
25 dollar refund is a slap to the face
They really don't hire the best and brightest, don't they?
Not with those crappy wages
One of worst airline
This is crazy. A Passport could be considered a heavily used document. Wear and tear must be expected. Go to a plastic card if it is such a concern.
It IS as "plastic card" inside the new Passport design. I had my entire Passport back in 1990 as I was outside a lot of the time in rain. Passort Fed. FREAKED and I had to have FOUR clearance references AND they checked all four!.
Nothing but Air Canada employees doing their best to frustrate travellers! I have not flown with Air Canada for over 30 years because of their lack of common decency and poor service standards!
Air Canada sucks, never travel with them.
And you’ll fly with westjet? Hahahhaa
Sounds like the decision was made by an overzealous and unqualified Air Canada staffer? The fact that they could get on a bus and cross the border with the same passport (shown to homeland security) indicates to me that the passport was not that badly damaged.
Air Canada is the worst airline. I stopped flying with them back in the 80's. They just keep going downhill. I hope they go bankrupt.
The government keeps bailing out Air Canada with tsxpayers' money. Time to end all government funding of every corporation. Hell abolish CRA and Canadians might be able to afford food and shelter.
I agree theyre horrible...but Wouldn't they get bailed out with taxpayer money? :(
It happened to me for a single drop of water that fell on my passport. Air canada never reimbursed me.
It’s not possible to boycott Air Canada, if you travel semi regularly. We’re a tiny country and we love monopolies.
Yep, your money will fund Air Canada either by choice or force (government intervention).
@@mohammedgoderYup. They’ll take the profits and we’ll take their losses. And we’ll like it, apparently.
It is possible to avoid them. I mainly fly Alaska and Delta 90% of the time. Or use KLM or Lufthansa to Europe and EVA to Asia. There is no place I need to fly to in Canada, there is the whole rest of the world to go to instead, all of it more appealing.
@@planesandbikes7353 I try to avoid them. It’s possible for international flights but for domestic, AC have routes and frequencies that make them the more convenient choice. Even tho they suck.
I fly Westjet or Porter Airlines when in Canada
'Potentially cause problems at a point of entry' - Well there's Air Canada's excuse, wide open to interpretation.
This is what happens when you let one extremely under trained employee have too much control.
A class action lawsuit against Air Canada is needed.
dont let airlines determine this, let the customs or airport security determine this.
Worst airline in the world, year after year after year.
When I searched for lists of the worst 100 airlines, Air Canada was not on any list.
A refund of $25 - wow! Air Canada's generosity reached levels that their planes can't!!
😂
Sue them
That’s ridiculous
Air Canada is the worst major airline I’ve been on. And I’ve been on a lot.
Was the flight oversold? Great way to make room.
Air Canada has offered a $25 refund. They should be offering those folks an apology a free flight and the knowledge that the employee that caused this fiasco has been 'reassigned'.
Those Air Canada staff who feel they are self-important by being vicious will have their day, when mercy will leave them when it counts. Happy 40th, hope the couple's fortune will turn for the better.
what do you mean by that 😱
Air Canada employees puffing ways too many Marijuana.
25 $ refund??? I cant even...what a slap in the face
Ticket agent given too much power.
Never walk away.
Seek the supervisor
Nobody should ever fly Air Canada , never ever had a positive experience with that joke of an airline
Air Canada.... Shocking.
There’s a quality word used to describe this behavior by air Canada !
I just avoid Air Canada like the plague.
I stopped flying AC long ago. This poor couple, what a joke from AC!
Me too!
Double standards.
Glad I sold my Air Canada stock. Shame on AC.
same for most country's.. any damage on the passport CAN get u in serious trouble and in some cases make it invalid thats why u buy a passport case or cover and protect it at all cost.
In this case...well Air Canada were kind of overdoing it and overreacting probably because they are are obligated by law to transport u home if u are denied entry in the country u go to.
Disgraceful. We are stuck with ScareCanada and WorstJet for so many domestic flights. The worst two airlines on the continent by all measures. Luckily I only fly to or through the USA, so can avoid those nim comp oops.
Anyone wonder why Air Canada is considered the worst airline worldwide?
Never fly Air Canada ever.
He got the wrong desk employee. Hopefully, she has been disciplined.
I managed to damage both my passport and my husband's passport. I put his through a wash, and i got ink on mine. But we were still able to use them for three years. So we didn't think it was a big deal. However, when we went to renew them, it was a big hassle. We had to fill out an extra form and phone a number to be interviewed. They phoned all our references. Which they don't usually do. Anyways now i know they take it very seriously.
I don’t fly air Canada anyway. Bad customer service
25 DINHEROS!!!, They stuff it up their APU lol, what an insult, worse than an insult
No common sense
Migrants can enter canada without the passports, and now this. 😂
Ugh Air Canada is the WORST!!
There a reason why Air Canada went broke two time and where bailed out by taxpayers If this company was based anywhere else but Quebec they would be gone
This is what happens when the government rescues a shoddy airlines: passengers get shoddy service. In this case no service at all. Shame on Air Canada.
Air Canada screws up again.
Sue air Canada,
For what? They aren't border agents. If there's a possibility that the documentation (passport) will be rejected, they are required by law to deny boarding.
@@chrisjohnson7929 some airline agents are fastidious and try to aggrandize their role in travel in hopes of promotions. I almost had that happen to me, happily I asked for a supervisor and she was able to correct the error in the agent’s judgment. Unfortunately for these folks, they were unnecessarily inconvenienced.
Was her name "Karen"?
That’s so nice of them to offer a refund of $25
Bottom line is that YOU are responsible for your passport........if it's damaged in any way......replace for seamless travel
Once I had water damage on my passport. I didn't want to risk having an issue, so quickly got a new one before my upcoming travel.
Such disgusting behavior ftom Air Canada!
Sorry for their troubles, but congratulations on the fortieth anniversary
the $25 refund feels more like an extra flip off from Air Canada than compensation
Avoid Air Canada whenever possible
Travel rule #3: Never use Air Canada
I miss Wardair. Have not flown AC for a very long time.
You have to insure you do not damage a passport. You can be refused entry to any country if you attempt to use a damaged passport. Do not blame Air Canada.
This is all unfair and unjust to them. Looks like the airport workers do not know how to respect their elders. Please, enough of this mumbo jumbo nonsense!
In life, it's human that making it more difficult than one can imagine. This case, custom officers should be called in to access the situation. Air Canada employees should act more decisively.
Air Canada is responsible for the cost of returning them to Canada if they are denied entry into a foreign country. Air Canada are within their right to deny boarding if a passport is damaged as this may result in the person being denied entry at their destination.
Overzealous lady probably thought the guy was rude and was looking for an excuse to ruin his day.
It sounds to me like the woman at the ticket desk was just a horrible person who loves to ruin people’s holidays.
That’s crazy. Dad🧑🏿🌾🧑🏿🍳🧑🏿🦼👨🏿🦼👩❤️💋👩👩👩👦👨👨👧👨👨👧👨👨👧🧎🏾♂️🧎🏾♂️🥽🪖👝🧤🎓👨🏿⚕️🧑🏿⚕️🕵🏿♂️ is definitely crazy with passports.
I can't decide if air canada is acting like westjet or if westjet is acting like air canada.
The Canadian Bank Note Company which prints the Canadian passport has a lot to answer for. Just compare its quality to that of the Swiss passport--no comparison, The new model tends to curl and warp due to humidity. The airline just wants to cover all bases in order to avoid paying finds if the passenger is denuded entry.
Air Canada Ground services sucks!!!
Passports are required to be in excellent shape. Adult world, adult prices.
My passport was in way worse condition than that and no say a thing to me
Sadly, if you don’t fly Air Canada, you have to fly WestJet😢
Definitely more to the story
This happens to my dad it is what it is went to consulate and it was resolved
Passports aren't made like they used to be. Keep them in a sealed bag as one downpour or wave and they are mush. Even a hot day just in your pocket and ruined.
Keep your papers in order
I keep Miens paperze in a small ziplock bag, yavole?
The problem is that damaged passports are easier to be tampered with. In most cases, to alter the photo
Air canada is terrible. I will never take it again . I went to peru. Nine hr of hell.
Sorry to say, it's not just Air Canada, every airline is the same, if they let you on the plane and you are refused entry at the other end THEY have to bring you back, maybe take better care of your passport.
It is up to customs to make these decisions
The problem here is that airlines don't have the ability to make the determination whether the documentation is fit for entry. They have to guess how the border agent will determine. If they get it wrong they face penalties. It's prudent that they don't take a risk and deny boarding when there's a chance that the person will be rejected by customs.
i would of stood my ground !
Could someone have tried to steal the chip embedded in the passport? Both having damage at the same place is sus
Your dealing with AirCanada ,
You can expect little.
Passport Canada isn't actually a thing. Not sure who they're saying something is according to, lol.
Canadians refused to go back into their country while every immigrant entering for free without any issues 😅
I have a crease in one of my pages do to handling... I wonder if that'll get rejected?
Damage of what add some one else pict ?
Isn't that a joke!
no wonder their stock is falling
Cattle.
Wow too bad
That sounds like Air Canada
Simple power trip by staff
More than that! They are going out of their way to make your trip miserable-they hire little minds with big egos-that’s the problem.
👍Air Scamada.
