    Nice Job! Would that set up work similar on a vehicle? And if so what type of switch do you use? Thanks Bud. I have a parasitic draw and I’m hoping that something like this would work.

      It would. When I was in the Navy, all our our CESE vehicles had cutoffs. Modern vehicles may not like it with all the electronics, but something from the early 2000’s would probably be ok.

    Thanks Jimmy! My 86 F150 keeps draining the battery, not sure why 😕

    I have a motorcycle battery. Where would I install the 2 wires in this case?

    • @jimmysgarage9068
      @jimmysgarage9068  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Anywhere on the negative cable. Find a spot to mount it. Get creative. There’s other cutoff switches out there - look it up for motorcycles. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching 🇺🇸🤘

    I have identical mower. It always ran good. I'm thinking of doing it. 🤔

      It certainly helps. Also put in new fuel lines and a shut off valve. Better for winter/long term storage 🇺🇸🤘

      I get them on eBay, or Harbor Freight. Just look online - you’ll find one.

    Why not the hot side?

    • @jimmysgarage9068
      @jimmysgarage9068  ปีที่แล้ว

      You know, I learned in Navy mechanic school to always cut off the negative. There’s a better chance of a circuit catching a ground somewhere than a hot lead. It’s the better bet that the circuit will remain open when you want it to. Hope that makes sense. Sometimes I’ll cut off the hot side if it’s easier to do. Thank you for watching 🇺🇸🤘

      Because you can't have a circuit without a ground.

    That switch is crap. Can lose the key, or it can break, and if any water gets in, the switch will rust and lock up. There are better alternates. I learned that lesson the hard way. I replaced it with a more water tight swtich.

    • @jimmysgarage9068
      @jimmysgarage9068  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I usually have 2 keys just in case. I park my tractors inside too - so rusting isn’t as much of a problem. A more water tight switch would be better in the long run for sure though.
