How to Fix A SITTING Snow Blower That Won't Start!
มุมมอง 6708 หลายเดือนก่อน
Here's a rundown of the things necessary to get a sitting snowblower starting again. A few omissions: 1 - I had checked the spark plug (which was good) and didn't include that in the video. 2 - Be SURE to check the gasket on your carb/intake manifold. If it's worn, weathered or pulled apart, you'll need to clean both surfaces & replace with a new gasket. Thank you for watching! \m/

Can this unit charge a car battery also
Can the 110 psi 3 gallon hot dog mgcraw compressor fill a 100 psi tires ? Usually i use my Hino commercial 18 ft bix truck once every two weeks air tire pressure drops from 10 to 5 lbs in my tires ...will this comoressor take my tires up from 95 to 100 psi on my tires?
I wouldn’t advise that - although it may get you to 100PSI in your tire, it till take all day to do it. My advice - get at least a 150PSI 6-gallon machine. It’s worth the extra money for capability. Thank you for watching 🇺🇸🤘
@@jimmysgarage9068 Thanks
I bought this right after Helene (last one in the store, and the store didn't even have power!!!), and love it! Just curious, why did you use the pull cord to start it instead of just the push-button start? That's a WONDERFUL feature, to me! Fabulous video, as always, Jimmy!
Thank you for the kind words Tim! I just like using the recoil over the push button. I start mine once a month to keep things moving and will use the button. Congrats on your generator - it’s a great machine!
Can you use something like this on a motorcycle or will it not be compatible with the system? I do know the motorcycle is also 12 V but still.
Oh, I’ve used it on small engines and it does quite well. Also I believe it says motorcycle on the box too - so you’re good to go.
I’m glad I got the performance model 😊
So you pay less for performance! Who knew 😮
It’s a great machine!
In this case, you pay for a quieter garage. They’re both good choices.

Hey Jimmy, I know this is kinda old now, but I just acquired a snowblower attachment (yeah, FB Marketplace) for my Craftsman LT1000 and I could use some help. How did you attach your clutch cable to the clutch assembly? Do you have any photos or video of that part of the project?
Honestly, I’d have to see it to show you. I’ve since sold that tractor and attachment. From what I remember, I had to custom fabricate a couple brackets to hang the attachment in place for the belt to slide onto the blower pulley. Basically get it in place best you can, and see if there are mounting holes on the frame. Then you can take a piece of steel, drill holes in it and hang off the frame to secure the blower. Harbor freight sells steel drill bits pretty cheap, and you can get a hunk of steel at Home Depot/tractor supply. Also old bed frames work great for that stuff and you can often find them for free on marketplace. Sorry if that’s too much info. I do a lot of “make it work” fabrication that’s not really by the books. Good luck man! 🇺🇸🤘
Would this run a strand or two of outdoor string lights for a couple of hours?
Totally. I’ve used it for that a few times. 🤘🇺🇸
Man, this is awesome! I’ve got one that looks very similar to this one but it’s dark brown. I thought it may have been a 1980s charger. My Dad gave it to me. It’s an 8 Amp 12 V Automatic and manual mode charger. It has that same look with the same meter but 8 amps. It’s just SEARS, like yours. Imma have to find out how old mine is!
It has to be pretty old! Hold on to that thing - they’re super cool. Thank you for watching 🇺🇸🤘
@ 💯%!! Thank you for the video! 🇺🇸
I have a motorcycle battery. Where would I install the 2 wires in this case?
Anywhere on the negative cable. Find a spot to mount it. Get creative. There’s other cutoff switches out there - look it up for motorcycles. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching 🇺🇸🤘
I have 1. I love it
🇺🇸🤘
I wonder if I hung a common blue tarp up on the rafters would it make any difference. my garage is a 4 car 4 door it would be nice not trying to heat the whole garage. Of course I leave open enough for carbon monoxide and I got a detector installed. Thanks for the uncomplicated review.
Dude, invest in a pellet stove. I ran one in my 4-car garage in Maine. Thing was an absolute beast. Controlled from your phone. If I was going to work in there in the dead of winter, I’d turn the stove on from the house and go out 30 minutes later. It’s amazing.

@jimmysgarage9068. Your welcome.
No most snowblower motors DO NOT come with the extra wire or stator for lights because most people do not buy snowblowers with the light accessory on them. I guess like me they clean off their driveway during the day instead of in the dark. When I got my first snowblower I used anM18 Milwaukee drill battery to power my LED lights and heat hand grips on the snowblower. I also installed a volt meter to watch so I didn't drain the battery down too far, because you can ruin a battery like that if you drain it down too far.
You could attach a small lawn mower battery and run that for power. When you’re done snowblowing, trickle charge the battery. Just a thought. Thank you for watching 🤘🇺🇸
Thanks for the recommendation! I'm heading to HF tomorrow to pick one up. HF often gets a bad rap, but I got a great DC unit there that rivals all the expensive ones. I'm looking forward to NOT wearing ear pro when the compressor kicks on now... 🙂
You’re going to LOVE it. It’s not the best performing compressor, but the db level makes it up. Thank you for watching 🤘🇺🇸
i just got this guy and love it. really satisfying to cut with it outside
It’s great! I use it all the time. Thanks for watching 🇺🇸🤘
I have the same exact lawnmower of you and I am having a really hard time finding what type of lawnmower it is. I was wondering if you knew it would’ve really help me out
If you have the exact same mower, you should know that it’s a Craftsman LT4000. Check the label under the seat.
Tell you right now that's definitely brighter than the 8 inch one I just put on my Kubota.
It’s a beast!
Can you point me to where I can buy replacement filters,I been washing the one and only I hve on hand but it takes a couple days to dry I want extras,my local harbor freight don't carry them anymore. Thank you!❤
Check out the HF website. They have a link to replacement parts.
So much plastic. Good video.
Lots of plastic. Still does a decent job for smaller projects. Thank you for watching 🤘🇺🇸
I have a 6 gallon pancake compressor, using it in my wood shop. I use it for some tools, but mostly blowing sawdust around. I am frustrated at how often it kicks on, and it's so loud I need to wear ear protection. Have been looking to get a larger capacity compressor. Am I swapping problems (short recharge time, OFTEN... vs long recharge time, less often)?
Great question. Check out my video on the Fortress Ultra-Quiet 6 gallon compressor. It’s a total game changer. I also have a few videos on expansion tanks - if you pair a quiet machine with one of those you’d be golden. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching 🤘🇺🇸
Jimmy how long does this jump starter hold a charge when not in use or is being stored?
I’d have to swing back on that one, as I just got it. We’ll see how the cold weather affect it. Thanks for watching 🇺🇸🤘
Great job! Doesn't have to become a federal case. Looks good!
Haha, thanks! 🇺🇸🤘
At 00:48 he says "snowboard tire". I'd like to see those
I guess I didn’t catch that one! Was probably trying to say “snowblower tire” and it came out wrong. Thanks for watching 🤘🇺🇸
That looks like a keeper :-)) Like the sweatshirt !
It’s pretty rad. Thank you for watching 🇺🇸🤘
Surprise that the propane connector is different...
Thoughts on the FORTRESS 10 Gallon Ultra Quiet compressor? Worth the $60 price jump over the 6 gallon?
I haven’t tried it, but that’s 66% more air - will definitely run tools a bit longer. More air is always better! 🤘🇺🇸
I take older lawnmowers that have no deck and pulley swap them and make them go 20+
Lots of guys do that. Cheap hot rods, baby!
what is the starting watt of this compressor? im tryin to determine if my jackery e2000 watt pack can start it.. i believe my pack has a max load of 2200 watt inverter
All the numbers should be on the website.

Riddle me this: My lawn mower sat for 2 yrs ..... After 2 yrs of sitting, the tank dried out, put in fresh fuel and she fired right up with NO issue. My Generator sat for 6 months and the carb clogged right up, had to pull it off and clean the jets and the fuel passages, then it fired right up. Why did the gen carb clog up so fast while the lawn mower carb sat for 2 yrs and didn't clog up ??
Could be several factors. Did the fuel come from the same can? Do they both have inline fuel filters? Did the genny have older fuel in there? Fuel separates and gels over time, and most people leave fuel sitting in generators for a long time. My suggestion to you is to install a fuel shutoff valve on your genny. Don’t ever shut it off with the switch, always shut it down with the fuel valve & let it starve. That will leave your carb empty and the passages won’t clog. I hope that helps. 🇺🇸🤘
@@jimmysgarage9068 Well thats what i did do ... Shut the fuel supply OFF until it starved from fuel and went dead. Then sat for 6 months and somehow the carb got clogged even though there was not supposed to be fuel in the carb because i shut the supply off ... And Yes the fuel came from the same can, same gas station. Yes they both have in-line fuel filters No the generator only gets 1 gallon of fuel so i can excersize it once per month for about 30 min under 50% load, when it runs out, i just refill it with another gallon for continued monthly excersize. So again, how did it get clogged if i starved it from fuel yet the lawn mower sat for 2 years with the same fuel and it never clogged up. That fuel was STILL in the mower after 2 yrs, yes it smelled stale but it fired up and ran fine which shocked me. Some guy here on TH-cam had the same issue where his generator clogged up after 2 months but his lawn mower sat for a year and fired right up .... This mower sat for 2 yrs because i went with an electric mower but eventually gave that up and went back with gas. So im still puzzled on why the gen clogged up in 6 months but the mower sat for 2 yrs and never clogged up ....
How many compressors do you have?? Wow

My man. Thank You! I've searching all over for this information. I just bought a used Porter Cable pancake compressor for this very reason. I was beginning to think I was only going to be able to blow air.
If you actually use them for any length of time, they eventually leak.
Good to know.
I got the exact same setup as you except i got the bigger fortress that has 200psi and 4cfm rating so i should be good im also going to be running it on 220 I've tried it only once so far and im happy with it im using it to make some go carts lol building my second one with suspension going to be my winter's project 😊 good video sir
