Nicolle Wallace is so charismatic, I've always enjoyed watching her interviews. She's smart, witty, laughs easily. It's hard to imagine she used to be a Republican. But then again, Republicans used to stand for something.
People keep calling Trump a genius or whatever, and I think it's because they refuse to believe that his entire platform was based on bigotry, and this country is FLOODED with bigots. He's not a genius. He's just a rich toddler whose tantrums align with that of the idiots of this country.
It was a great interview. I was especially pleased to see how Conan could see thru the Trump's LIES. He pointed out that the Republicans requested that mail in ballots be counted last for a reason. So Trump would get out to a big lead and then as they began to count the mail ballots (which lean heavy to Democrats), his lead would be diminished and it would appear that something nefarious was going on. He also predicted that Trump will never concede which I have been saying all along.
If he goes into politics I am done with Conan. Dont care what side he is on BTW> enjoy his shows and especially because he stays outta politics. Unlike to 99 idiot liberal night show hosts.

The future of the GOP should be compassionate conservatives like Wallace, the kind Barry Goldwater had espoused before.
On the enablers: I think Conan is right. And I wonder why people don't hold Twitter accountable. They could have banned him long ago according to their guidelines, when he is spewing hate and bs and conspiracy myths, and especially now he is not accepting the election process
We have to face facts: we have 70 million M A G Ats. They are our real problem and they are NOT going away. We all need to become anti-federalists states' rights republicans when it comes to national politics to protect ourselves and to have any chance of enacting any progressive legislation albeit only at the state and local level. We need to strip the imperial presidency of most of its powers and give the neo cons their small federal government that can be drowned in the bathtub. With a smaller, leaner federal government, we can cut taxes and blue cities and blue states can use those tax dollars for our progressive policies: we have enough resources and people for the economies of scale. More importantly, the next time the electoral college + voter suppression + apathetic voters allow the next Trump to ascend to power, he or she won't be able to do nearly as much damage. Joe will have won by millions of votes. That's not a slim margin. Usually where these toss-up states are, those are the slim margins. But...that's the system.
The tactics the Republicans are using for voting is the same one for tax law. They want it complicated so that it is easier to cheat the system. They think that is ethical behavior. They are so far away from behavior that builds a strong nation. It is important for us to stay engaged and see if we can move the new politicians in a direction towards a nation that supports and aids its citizens instead of one that uses and ridicules them.

Not that I'm trying to help them, but the GOP needs to find a new face of the party. One who has the courage to denounce Trump and his small base of true lunatics, embrace the rest of the party as well as, I hate to say it, conservative democrats, and develop a more inclusive message. I would pick a strong female candidate, one that's not afraid to call Trump what he is. Biden is not running in 2024, so a female candidate to run against Harris would be a good strategy. I would pick a strong female candidate, one that's not afraid to call Trump what he is. Biden is not running in 2024, so a female candidate to run against Harris would be a good strategy. Trump is not going away. If the party doesn't squash him now with that new face, he will tear the party apart and Democrats will win in 2022 and in 2024. Nevermind, I want Dems to keep winning :)

The reason the Republican Party is so subservient to trump is partially bc they’re afraid of him tweeting and getting the base against them, and the base is definitely more aligned with trump, but it’s more than that. The Republican Party created this base, one only needs to watch Fox and listen to right wing radio to understand this isn’t new, trump just took advantage of it and said things other republicans only ever whispered. They know their base that they’ve been molding for years. It’s more than just a fear of the base, it’s an understanding of their creation and their movement. And it’s dangerous and despicable and the Republican Party doesn’t have the morals, the smarts, or the loyalty to American democracy to change it
