Thisis another great historical episode of the history of the John Deere tractor showing the evolution of the tractor from 1910 to 1958 and going into the future of farming
www.ebay.com/itm/Blue-White-Engineer-Train-Driver-Hat-Costume-Uniform-/264026904210 Just a guess of course but that's about as close as I can figure it out. Can't see the back side so it might have the typical plastic adjustment band which is NOT what the farmer is wearing - not all of these engineer hats are made the same either.
This is coming very late, but that hat [where the guy is handling the bag and shoveling] _could be_ a variation of what is known as a 'classic railroad engineer's cap.' The coloring of the cap in this video looks lighter than what I've seen with the classic railroad cap, but its profile is similar. There are online sellers of such classic railroad [or train] engineer's caps.
Impressive that, throughout this film, there was no _name dropping_ of the John Deere brand.

Nah
Love the old Videos the golden age of Agriculture at it's best!
It’s good to know that cats were as cute as they are now 70 years ago
В СССР об этом только мечтали.все практические в ручную делали в те года.и электропастух вообще появился в 80 гг и то это большач редкость.
My brother still owns and runs my grandpa’s John Deere model A and side cutter ! It’s been overhauled only once.
80 years later grazing is still the best nutrition and profitability!
Thanks guys, appreciate all the old stock footage. a lot of good information here.
Still good advice.
I have a ‘48 A I’m going to fix up in the Spring

Simpler times
Forking the hay into the barn by hand and cutting the hay with si is proably easier than baling it and owning tractors
no
It's called a scythe, and you'd need about five minutes using one to see the massive mount of labor involved just doesn't pan out.
Not that is funny. Scythe 1/2 acre per DAY ? Modern machinery 100 + acres per day in airconditioned comfort .
Like I've always said,compaction is a non-issue.
Can someone anyone please!!! Tell what kind of hat the farmer in overalls is wearing and where I might find one

@@bloqk16 never too late if it's a good or correct answer.
Odd how at 7:44 they advertise it as to be best for hillsides.
