I am trying to bring you a new video art tutorial, split between my two channels and two loves, watercolour and oils. So each channel gets a new tutorial every fortnight Friday at 3 pm GMT.
My full list of colours set out below is in sequence as they appear in my palette. There are way too many and will be edited down over time to a core set.
    PALETTE
    Sepia
    Burnt Umber
    Indian Red
    Burnt Sienna
    Raw Sienna
    Yellow Ochre
    Neutral Tint
    Indigo
    French Ultramarine Blue
    Cobalt Blue
    Phthalo Blue ( Windsor Blue)
    Ultramarine Violet
    Phithalo Green ( Windsor Green)
    Cobalt Turquoise Teal
    Magenta
    Organic Vermillion
    Trans Pyrrol Orange
    Cadmium Yellow Deep.
    Indian Yellow
    Aureolin
The palette box is a cheaper version of a Holbein offering a 20-slot palette. If honest I have way more colours than if ever use. I often only use a few of these and a version of this palette with fewer slots would be better for most.
My brushes are mainly Rosemary and Co, Sable, and Synthetics.
My watercolour palette is as follows:

A beautiful bird, my favorite subject. Your "thinking-out-loud" process when mixing colors is always most helpful to me.

Never thought of it like that Bonnie, but pleased it works, cheers P

I really love how this Pelican portrait looks. It’s refreshing to see how a professional artist makes a mistake like that and shows us intermediate artists how to figure out how to fix/correct mistakes like that. I wouldn’t have even thought there was a mistake if I had only seen the final results of the painting. You made this subject look like a very simple & easy thing to paint. I am going to give this one a try for sure. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video with us! My youngest son noticed the second purple & brown smaller looking bird when you see the eye, purple part of the bill, & brown face patch flying up towards the sunny top of the head. Pretty cool!!

The Pelican looked so prehistoric in the early stages, but as it built up, it became to my eye more life like. Very well done. Thanks for your efforts

Once again thank you for your guidance regarding transparent colors. My work now has enticing clarity. It's given me the crisp nocturnals I've been looking for. 🇺🇸
