Currently, there are 153 different species of animals in Planet Zoo. It may seem like a lot BUT there are still so many common zoo animals that are missing in the game. Today I would like to share with you guys my ultimate list of the animals that I still would love to see in Planet Zoo! 🦥🐪💚

I would happily pay more money for a larger animal dlc. I would love to see more hoofstock, pigs, and water fowl. I'd also love the African leopard, Nile crocodile, and the fossa. I also hope they update some of the base game models to look as nice as the dlc ones.

I would love a falconry themed pack. Lots of zoos also have a falconry with flying demonstrations/shows. It would be so so so cool if you could have something like this in Planet Zoo. Also, it would finally bring us more birds.
That would be amazing!!
One group of animals everyone seems to overlook is the turtles. We have 2 tortoises (of which we could also use some smaller ones like box turtles) but no turtles. The Arrau turtle or giant softshell turttle aswell as snapping turtle would work perfectly.
It would be soo cool if they would add some turtles as habitat animals!!

There are so many animals I’d love to have in the game that I could go on and on, but more than anything else, I hope they eventually add sloths, walruses, lots of flighted birds, and an aquarium dlc with fully aquatic animals like sharks and manta rays.
I can't wait to find out what Frontier will surprise us with in the future!

Even though it isn’t as flashy as other DLC ideas I would like to see a barnyard DLC with Highland Cows, Alpacas, Goats, Turkeys, Donkeys, Pigs, Ducks and Chickens.
Many people would like that so I can see them doing it one day 🤓

I would like to see more “farm animals” and water animals. I think planet zoo is the perfect game for both land and water animals. I would love to see sharks and overall more aquatic animals.

Personally i don't want any more bears, and only monkeys if they're really unique compared to the monkeys we already have. Loved your bird category i think we are lacking and would love to see more cranes, pelicans or swans! You mentioned the echidna and I would love to see that or a porcupine! And definitely a sloth is needed :D
Everyone has their own preferences and wishes! I would be sooo happy if just some of those animals would be eventually included!
I agree with you on all fronts but I would also like to see the American black bear, Walrus, Fossa, Nile crocodile, American flamingo and the animal I want the most in the game, the Wolverine.
Those are some incredible animals! I can see them being added to the game as well!

Pretty much agree with 90% of the list which is rare these days lol. As someone who doesn't care for hoof stock that much, I wouldn't complain with the ones you listed out, especially the Kudu as they're one of my favorites. Otherwise the only thing missing really is a few crucial North American species like the Wolverine, American Black Bear and the Elk/Wapiti but it's your Wishlist so it's understandable!

I would really like to see the saiga antelope added - they look so unique and are sadly critically endangered. Frontier could preserve this majestic animal forever in Planet Zoo ❤

We need water fowl BIG TIME. The white pelicans would be an amazing touch. I'm not a big ape/monkey fan but I was very glad PZ brought awareness to siamangs because they are really cool! The Kudu not being in the game is such a wasted opportunity, surprised they weren't a base animal. I would love to see Impalas and I agree with different species of zebra and giraffe. I'd love to see more North American hoofed animals, such as white tailed deer and the massive ELK! The African porcupine should have been a BASE GAME ANIMAL. The lesser anteater/tamandua would be awesome. I want to see the American Badger so bad!! North American River Otter as well as the snapping turtle are fun additions. In all honesty, I think we are all waiting for marine animals which could be a separate spin off game, there's so much. Hopefully PZ watches your video and listens to the fans!

I'd love to have more semi-aquatic or fully aquatic animals added to Planet Zoo.

YES! The Takin is definitely an animal I really hope that Planet Zoo adds in. These Dr. Seuss looking animals outside of Asia, are very underrated and more people should definitely have more attention. Please planet zoo, bring the Takin to the game! I’m begging you!!

Speaking of Cattle (any cattle is good cattle in my book haha) I'd love to see the Watussi Cattle and the Scottish Highland Cattle!
I really don't mind domesticated animals at all, I think they add a lot of realism and let us build smaller animal parks, not just big-buget zoos! So I'd also like to add geese and turkeys :)
And yes to each and every one of the piggys! And a potbellied pig too, they are so adorable!

The tasmanian devil is far from being the only carnivorous marsupial lol. Its the biggest still alive but there are also opossums, quoll, numbats and tons more

Couldn't agree more for the Shoebill bird ! Another one I'd be pleased to see added to the game is the Red Legged Seriama.

@@CesarCreates I think planet zoo devs underestimate just how much people want to see more birds in the game, me included. Adding a huge bird update would pull me back into the game 100%

Awesome list! If I had to add anything I think I'd go for Serval, Yak, Harbor Seal, any tortoise species that isn't giant, Nile Crocodile and Pere David's deer.

If there is one animal i want in the game, it would be the Texas Longhorn. With their unique horns and being the national animal to texas, it would be a wonderful animal to be added into the game.
I hope we will get a cow species eventually!
SO true, the Lar Gibbon is actually pretty common in different zoos, I'd really like to see this one getting added! Idk why but always see red river hogs at every zoo I go and they are funny so i think this species would also be cool to add.I think the Tree Kangaroo is a MUST to be added but my question would be, In what DLC would these animals come? If we could get like packs based on real life zoos like instead of an "Africa pack" there could be a "San Digeo Zoo pack" that could be maybe a fundraiser for the san diego zoo too it would add new animals and items plus we'd be doing something good.

i would LOVE to see the secretary bird be added! it’d be so neat if you could add a nest enrichment item that goes in a shorter tree so they can fly the short distance into it

I’m with you on the grey crowned crane, gerenuk, addax, waterbuck, greater kudu, impala, eland, bontebok, masai giraffe and dromedary

I would love for Frontier to just go back to all existing animals, maybe after they're done doing DLC's. And give some of them either, depending on the animal, a complete rework, or a visual upgrade. Just some really good quality of life things to wrap the game and all the DLCs up in a good finished product. Some animals look so good, while others are either too big or small. Or "off" looking to their IRL counterparts. For an Animal, I Love Cats, so I'd love to see an Ocelot! I know we already have a small Cat in the Sand Cat, but a Tiny Desert/Jungle Cat, depending on subspecies, is my defiantly biased decision :). It would be a lil Cutie :) Big eyes, beautiful colours.

African Crested Porcupine, Two Toed Sloth, Tasmanian Devil, Goodfellow's Tree-Kangaroo and African Spurred Tortoise - are my top 5 most essential animals for Planet Zoo
Mostly the African Crested Porcupine and the Two Toed Sloth are the animals that if I will see in the upcoming dlcs, Cesar you have to call me an ambulance because I'm going to die, but happy! lol! but I agree with almost all your Wishlist Animals! proud of you, haha I love that we both have the same taste lol

Once they add orcas and dolphins (now that they have sealions I feel there is little excuse for not having, in the least, dolphins in game.) I'll start playing this game. I've been so patiently waiting for a proper marine mammal pack to come out.
I am very curious if they will release it one day!
I doubt there ever gonna add the orca and the dolphin due to the controversy around them being in captivity

I'm still not gonna buy this game until they do, and again its hypocritical to have sealions and be a pro captivity zoological game and not allow for orcas and dolphins (or dolphins in the least. Who also says they cant make the dolphin inventory "rescues only" with each animal being prenamed with a story, perhaps in partnership with CMA?)The mods for the orcas/dolphins are horrible and based on only zoo tycoon models that don't flesh well with Planet Zoo. Lots of people have been wanting a proper marine expansion for awhile now.
I'd be so cool if they made a bird pack that uses the new walkthrough exhibit feature that they added to add flying birds like macaws and stuff. Maybe you could use it to make aviaries and stuff. They could even add Spix's macaws as an animal in the pack to help spread some kind of awareness to the conservation efforts being currently being made to prevent their extinction. Last time I knew there aren't any left in the wild but there's a small flock being kept in captivity as apart of a breeding program, so it'd be really cool to see them in the game maybe you could make like a macaw sanctuary or something that'd be cool.

Amazing list would love to see these species, and a few on this list I've never heard of before! I have a love for deer species and was so happy when they added the Fallow and Red Deer, and I would to see the Roosevelt elk added one day, a deer species from north America with a most haunting call

I would LOVE a domesticated animals pack / petting zoo pack. With pigs, cows, sheep, goats with many coat types, maybe chicken, ducks, pond fish etc.

The most recent DLC the Tropical Pack just added a few of the animals mentioned here including the Lar Gibbon, Red River Hog, and a sloth (although a different species than the two-toed one) they also added the Fossa which I saw a lot of people mentioning in the comments

I would love any kind of owls, Twilight pack should've had one. It was really weird to add skunks and I don't really associate wombats with twilight. ^^; More birds in general though would be amazing since as you mention not enough of them and a nice way to get color. :D

Frontier gave us Jurassic World fans every single species that appeared in the last park builder, Jurassic Park Operation Genesis, in the first Evolution game.
So I do think they understand a lot about the communities and their previous games they used to play. Eventually we’ll get every species in Zoo Tycoon, excluding the extinct ones.
They really listen to the community so I really can see them adding more things we want!

I completely agree, frontier has done so much to present a realistic approach to a zoo game with about as much variety as I can think of but these suggestions are a very realistic possibility hopefully on the near future!

100% to see the Tasmanian Devil added! Ive just started a franchise series and am trying to create zoo’s based on regions / continents. When I come to Australia / Oceana I want those truly iconic species, and the Tasmanian Devil is certainly one of those
With birds i really want eagles, parrots, owls and penguins and i would also really love underwater animals and many of your choices also need to get into zoo planet.

Very good list! Within your parameters, I'd also love to see a ground hornbill (Abyssinian or Southern), seriema, coypu, alligator snapping turtle, Nile softshell, hawaiian goose and wolverine included in Planet Zoo.

Great list! I would personally add alpacas, big horn sheep, mountain goats, walruses, lesser anteater, Texas longhorn cows, musk ox, elk, bat ear foxes and birds of prey (like bald eagles).

I would personally love to see some South American animals such as the sloth, tamandua, and especially the kinkajou, a small animal related to the raccoon and coati. I would also like to see the North American brown bear since I feel like they’re pretty common and they haven’t been added yet. Also maybe dolphins or manatees. Dolphins are one of my favorite animals so that would be super cool.

I’d love Fairy Penguins. They’re very tiny and slate blue. I think more penguins and puffins in general would be fun to play with. At the St. Louis zoo, we have Penguin and Puffin coast with Gentoo, Humboldt, Rockhopper, and King Penguin, plus Horned and Tufted Puffin. Since we already have King Penguins and African Penguins (who are very similar to Humboldt), I’d just like to see more types.

Wow, your wishlist is so close to mine!! All I would say is that I would prefer to get non-African ungulates for now, as we already have so many African species to choose from. That said, I’d be so happy to get a kudu! I’d also add walrus, leopard seal, manatee and Australian sea lion (I dunno if you forgot aquatics!).

The animals I’d add would be some from Yellowstone National Park, as a big WolfQuest fan I’d live to see some of these animals in Planet Zoo. These include: Bighorn Sheep, Wolf, Moose, Grizzly Bear, Black Bear, Elk, Bears, Bison, Coyote, Bobcat, Pronghorn, American Bison, Cougar, North American River Otter, Mountain Goat, Bald Eagle, Yellowstone cutthroat Trout, Long-tailed Weasel, Yellow-bellied marmot, Birds, Wolverine, Wildlife, Mule Deer, and Red Fox.
The main animals I’d like to see are: Bison, wolves, bears and elk.
The rarest animal: Wolverine.
Most common animal: Elk
Animals for kids: Bears, Wolves, Mountain Goats, Moose, Buffalo, Big Horned Sheep, Pronghorn Antelope, Elk.
Big cats: Cougar.
Wolves: Grey wolf.
Snakes: Rubber Boa.

The only thing planet zoo really needs is pigs, sheep, goats and so on so you can build a proper cage for the entrance where people can walk through

I’d like to see more Crocodiles and reptiles in the game like the Dwarf and Nile Crocodiles, some more monitor lizards and even the marine Iguana.

@@CesarCreates Well that’s one down, I am really hoping they add some more crocodiles though since out of all the crocodilians we have we only have one actual crocodile so far.
For exhibits, I'd like to see some Chameleons. Ones like the Panther or Jackson's Chameleon. I feel small lizards are a bit underrepresented in the game. I love snakes, but let's show a little more love to the little legged guys behind the glass.

I agree with you on birds, but they need flying birds. Specifically Bald Eagles and the Andean Condor. Some exhibit birds could be a hummingbird, woodpecker, roadrunner, etc. It'd be neat if they made an aviary building like the butterfly garden. Another idea is to have some birds in exibits birds like owls, falcons/hawks, parakeets, but make it so you can set up a handler/educator stand and they could take them out of the exhibits for demonstrations. I'd also like to see some fish, and maybe a manatee, shark, octopus.
I know the game has plenty of crocodilians but the Nile Crocodile seems like such a weird omission. It’s a staple of African wildlife

I'd love more Aussie ones. Most are very small like Bandicoots, Numbats, Bilbies, Devils, Quakkas, Quolls & Tree kangaroos. They would probably be more smaller exhibits but they're awesome animals that would be great as they're all different looking too!

New feature includes parrot and birds of prey shows with a new “exhibit” like feature with parrots and birds of prey.
Some species of birds of prey and parrots are put into a pre made enclosure similar to what you see in zoos where they are able to perch in an open fronted area hopping from log to log.
Some larger birds like eagles and macaws in exhibits where educational staff are able to collect the birds and do show and tells outside the exhibit at education stations

I really want them to do expansion packs like JWE2. Packs that cost $20 and come with the same amount of scenery, but with way more animals. We could have like a Treetop Expansion Pack with animals like the Tree Kangaroo, Fossa, Kinkajou, Tamandua, Saki Monkey, Marmosets, Tamarin, Spider Monkey etc. with new climbing and wooden pieces. We could also have a Coastal Expansion with puffins, walrus, stellar sea lions, rockhopper penguins, herons, pelicans, ducks, etc with beach theme scenery. Although I don’t think they would make any new type of DLC because it’s this late in the games lifetime. I do hope for some new biome packs though like Highlands and Islands.
I thinking we can expect anything from Frontier these days! And they like surprising us lately so who knows what the future DLCs will look like!

There's a new update which is the tropical pack and it includes the red River hog, howler monkeys, sloths, and foosas I'm pretty sure that's all of the new animals

Bush dogs are some of my favorite animals in the world, but unfortunately they’re not common in American zoos. I’d love to at least get them in game.

This is so true, we need like all of these animals, but as an Australian it's annoyed me for a long time that we don't have that many Aussie animals in the game, so I would swap out the Eastern White Pelican for Australian Pelican, the European Spoonbill for the Australian Spoonbill and the Rockhopper Penguin for the Fairy Penguin (Little Blue Penguin), also when you said Lar Gibbon you showed a video of a White-cheeked Gibbon, so I don't know which one you are talking about.

Well, it was quite difficult to find nice looking royalty free videos for all those animals so when I finally found something nice for the gibbons I kind of forgot to have a closer look. I meant the Lar Gibbon but the White-cheeked would be amazing to have as well!

I really want to see the Siberian musk deer... I played hunter call of the wild and literally everytime I would see one I wouldnt hurt it and would instead get a big smile on my face, they are so cute

Sorry to nitpick, but the Tassie Devil is the largest but not necessarily the only carnivorous marsupial in the world. A few other Australian and European (?) marsupials are also carnivores like the quoll and the extinct (unless the conspiracy theories are true) Tassie Tiger. Also the Numbat and Dunnart which mostly feed on insects. I'm Australian and a huge animal nerd, so I'm super sorry to even pick it up 😅
I also felt like the Australia DLC was SO lacking. Like, we got wombats, koalas, kangaroos, and cassowaries, which aren't even necessarily native. And the nature selections were so slim. I need more! And that fits with your view of more birds. I need Galahs! Kookaburras! We have so much wildlife here that they just sort of went "here's 4 habitat animals, that's plenty." No monotremes, no birds (besides the m*rder bird), I'm sure people from other continents feel the same about the packs for their continent, but if I'm paying $13 AUD for a DLC I want moooore

Bardzo ładna lista. Zwłaszcza ta część o ptakach których jestem fanem i sam hoduję bażanty. Mnie brakuje od dłuższego czasu zwierząt domowych, kózka, owieczka czy kury do mini zoo dla najmłodszych . Takie w stylu zoo z "Pingwinów". Byłoby to naturalne uzupełnienie ogrodu zoologicznego.

The English name for the squirrel monkey always cracks me up for some reason😅 in my country (NL) their name is 'Doodshoofd aapje' which translates too 'Skull monkey' with 'aapje' technically meaning 'little monkey'. And it fits them so well with their head markings kinda representing a skull that I for the longest time believed their English name would be similar, bug noXD
