*It's currently the most difficult question a beginner can ask! lol* I just got an Alexi Laiho style flying V that is of course a counterfeit, and as soon as I picked it up the idea that it was African Mahogany went right out the window! I sanded the neck to the wood and am pretty much 100% that it's pearwood, the body African Mahogany. Fortunately, pearwood and other fruit tree woods are actually incredibly strong, and the graining is so tight they're nearly poreless. You can end up with something like pearwood that's literally 2 or even 3x harder than rock maple but weighs significantly less. *I unfortunately have to "rebuild" that entire guitar but ideally when I am done, it will be 2nd to none.*

@JonDeth what an interesting guitar! I don’t know that I’ve ever played a pearwood guitar before. How is the tone compared to korina and mahogany?
Flowers! That's a good tip, I love it LOL
