This still kills me. Gorgeously nuanced, perfect melodically, Lyrics that resonate all these years later. Brandon has one of the most remarkable voices, technically, of his generation. Magic still soaking my spine.
I just discovered this band and I'm so happy I did! I see all the nostalgic from everyone but to me this is a brand new and the history begins today! hopefully I can comeback in a few years and share the nostalgic too
What a masterpiece. I agree with Brandon that this is their best song. There is just something magical about it that comes so effortlessly. I remember the exact moment when it hit me how great this song was. I was listening to Sams Town on my CD player as I was riding the bus home from middle school. Good times...🙃
Good times Katie, I remember when Brandon and gang used to accompany me via my Sony discman on public transport to go home from school. The journey was long so I would listen to the complete album and I always looked forward to Read My Mind :) There is something about that effortless melody that you just drift along with.
This song came out when I was in first year college. It was so good then. Now, with time, it has become better. With all the nostalgias in between. Love you.
When will people understand that there are stations other than pop top 100 stations? Literally just look for good music and you'll find it. Talent didn't cease to exist 5, 10, 15, or 20 years ago, you people are just lazy.
+Roger Ramirez exactly. You might have to dig through a lot of shitty pop music, but you'll find something you enjoy. There's still talent out there- just because it's not on the charts, doesn't mean it's not there.
It was 2017, I was a 22 year old university student. My girlfriend decided to breakup with me cause she couldn't stand the long distance relationship anymore and she thought I had no motivation to graduate, leave the city and move to the city where she's at. This song resonates with me a lot because she didn't know what's in my mind, that I wanted to move out of my 'two-star town' as soon as possible, I really wish she could read my mind. I really want to feel the love, the fire and wish she could open the door for me, again. It has been 3 years, and thankfully I am happy with where I am now. I moved on and fell in love with a woman who wants to know what is actually inside my mind. I do wish my ex-girlfriend happiness, because without her I won't be where I am now. I don't shine, if she doesn't shine. That's my story, thank you the killers, especially Brandon, for this amazing song.
Idk why but I'm crying my ass off now lol. Today is my first day in college and I'm feeling hopeless and lost, even though I'm only 17. But as always I count with The Killers' songs to help me in tough times, Read My Mind gave me happiness in a moment in which I didn't see beauty in life anymore. These guys' music made me who I am today and I can not express how grateful I am about it.
The Killers are so underrated. The music sounds way better than most popular music these days, the lyrics have way deeper meaning than most popular music these days and they generally have way better music than the stuff these days. I thank my parents for listening to them and giving me so much nostalgia with this band and overall introducing me to some of the best music.
The best killers song, had not listened to this for years. Pure nostalgia, unashamed to say a tear rolled down my face... Ending with a thought "where did the time go?"
Wow. Never thought Rose would cover this song. This specific song that I've had on my super... super old ipod shuffle way backkkk then. She really knows how to pick em!
What a nostalgic song. It's about two people who were in deep love-but one of them has grown apart through ambition and high city success. Whilst the other struggles to motivate himself out of a rut. Whist she moves on. In reflection ,he will probably always see her as the 'one' when he's old.
Camera 11 years old ago is much more clear than my phone 🫂 and I discovered this great song because of Rosé, my love. She made the most amazing cover ever, istg! Cheerssss!
"There's a song - and I don't want to throw everything onto this one band - but there's this song by the Killers, they do a music video to, um, and he's standing in the music video in Japan I believe and he looks dead into the camera and his eyes are really calm but there's a moment that his hand kind of twitches suggesting like 'I'm trying to come across like I'm fine but really there's something really wrong,' um, I think about a moment like that. That has influenced me more than any song has..." - Tyler Joseph, Twenty One Pilots

About 13 years ago i heard this song for the first time while shopping in a Wall Mart store while visiting America and immediately fell in love with it. I think this was their best song they had ever recorded. Thank you The Killers❤❤🙌🏾🙌🏾
I always tell this story: This song was on the TV many years ago, when I decided to change my life. I'll always remember that magical moment. I just went and enjoyed the music video and took the decision a few moments later.
If you don't mind, can you tell the story with more details about how this song inspired you to make a decision? I'm in the mood to hear about magical moments that change lives. @osricen
This music video and the movie lost in translation with Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansen motivated me to visit Tokyo, Japan in 2008. I just turned 21 and got my passport. And decided to visit the far east in search of adventure and wanderlust. It was also my first big overseas travel by myself. Needless, to say Tokyo was an amazing city. I felt like I stepped into the future. Thank you Killers for this amazing song and video.
I kind of just imagine 18 year old Tyler Joseph watching that opening scene in the first verse over and over, like mesmerized by it, and going "that's IT. THAT'S who I wanna be as a musician."

This still kills me. Gorgeously nuanced, perfect melodically, Lyrics that resonate all these years later. Brandon has one of the most remarkable voices, technically, of his generation. Magic still soaking my spine.
I just discovered this band and I'm so happy I did! I see all the nostalgic from everyone but to me this is a brand new and the history begins today! hopefully I can comeback in a few years and share the nostalgic too
They are beyond inspirational. I heard this song a decade ago. I got off my pitty party for myself.
They make me laugh continuously, and they deserve a medal!
In my opinion, everyone deserves a hug and attention, and to feel wanted. This band has touched so many hearts.
u blk
this song makes me nostalgic for a life I never had
hawke same here haha
It's strange, but I know exactly what you are talking about...
Jump to that trapeze .
yeah I like how you describe that. GOD bless you.
I am so home sick now for some place I never know 👍 I feel you
"The stars are blazing like rebel diamonds, cut out of the sun..."
One of the most beautifully descriptive lyrics ever written.
It's 'treble diamonds'.
I wanna wake up to this song every morning.
set it as your alarm then...
And then he will hate it xD
What a masterpiece. I agree with Brandon that this is their best song. There is just something magical about it that comes so effortlessly. I remember the exact moment when it hit me how great this song was. I was listening to Sams Town on my CD player as I was riding the bus home from middle school. Good times...🙃
Good times Katie, I remember when Brandon and gang used to accompany me via my Sony discman on public transport to go home from school. The journey was long so I would listen to the complete album and I always looked forward to Read My Mind :) There is something about that effortless melody that you just drift along with.
Yes and Amen to that Sister!
Katie Dezes hope you’re watching on bbc 👍🥂✨⭐️💃
"It’s funny how you just break down, waiting on some sign." I feel that. I love this song.
This song came out when I was in first year college. It was so good then. Now, with time, it has become better. With all the nostalgias in between. Love you.
This is just one of the songs I will ALWAYS listen to on replay and never get sick of
+JoeMG smooth
Yup, this is one o the few songs I consider to be absolutely perfect in every way.
Mr Bright
This is the one that Im NEVER able to skip... If it start I git to listened till the very end

this song is 10 years old, but it still sounds much more... modern that fucking everything on the radio right now
When will people understand that there are stations other than pop top 100 stations? Literally just look for good music and you'll find it. Talent didn't cease to exist 5, 10, 15, or 20 years ago, you people are just lazy.
+Roger Ramirez exactly. You might have to dig through a lot of shitty pop music, but you'll find something you enjoy. There's still talent out there- just because it's not on the charts, doesn't mean it's not there.
+Roger Ramirez where i live theres like 1 good radio station and theyve been playing the same stuff for over 15 years
Not being funny 'cool hipsters' but this song is quite poppy!
+Roger Ramirez FYI it also charted at number 15 on the UK Singles Chart. I know you just wanted to seem cool but know your shit bro!
That's my story, thank you the killers, especially Brandon, for this amazing song.
what happenned to her?
This b just really pulled a thank u, next
This was so beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing🙏🏼🌷
You have a beautiful way of looking at it all. Good for you, finding our passion in life is everythiung.
@@TrishBell1 We don't even know ourselves, how can we know what our passion is?
Idk why but I'm crying my ass off now lol. Today is my first day in college and I'm feeling hopeless and lost, even though I'm only 17. But as always I count with The Killers' songs to help me in tough times, Read My Mind gave me happiness in a moment in which I didn't see beauty in life anymore. These guys' music made me who I am today and I can not express how grateful I am about it.
+Aline Brito You seem like a cute girl, I don't think you'll have any problems fitting in. Keep your chin up!
+Aline Brito "so I came to the youtube comment section to post my nihilistic thoughts about my life instead of going out"
Dennis Tzo would going out make a difference dude? come on
Aline Brito it might.
Aline Brito 0kk
This is my all-time favorite song by them. I can’t even begin to describe how much this song has helped me through the darkest times in my life.
I cried when I heard this song live, couldn’t explain why but I just did. It was beautiful
I noticed how most of the comments are wholesome and nostalgic. I remember this was the music for a old video. God knows what happened to thecarsall
Preach brotha
In 30 years, The Killers will be one of those bands that everyone will remember. Enough said.
+WookieNutSack did they disband, saw some new songs by brandon this year, wasnt impressed :(
I am remembering my childhood and realising what the killers represent all at the same time
God is Good 🙌
"The stars are blazing like rebel diamonds cut out of the sun"
After all these years that line has just hit me differently
damn rosie really got a superior music taste. i'm glad i'm discovering amazing songs because of her.
Me too
The best killers song, had not listened to this for years. Pure nostalgia, unashamed to say a tear rolled down my face... Ending with a thought "where did the time go?"
So many memories were made because of this song. Thank you
Maybe the most inspirational song ever written. "I pull up to the front of your driveway, with magic soakin' my spine can you read my mind?"
I really had fun in my late 20’s and that song was part of my soundtrack. If I don’t shine you don’t shine, what great way to live. ❤️
When sings “you didn’t return that call” almost out of key has always struck me as so artistic. Rare talent
this band saved my life, god bless their souls
Dicen que uno vuelve a dónde fue feliz y como no volver con esta magnífica canción,bonitos recuerdos
Joya🔥
Siiii mi mejor colágeno, me siento joven de nuevo 🤗❤️
💜
beautiful statement my friend ❤️
So true my friend
saludos
One of their best and most underrated songs ever. The 00s was the last great decade. The video is awesome and Tokyo is so beautiful.
Wow. Never thought Rose would cover this song. This specific song that I've had on my super... super old ipod shuffle way backkkk then. She really knows how to pick em!
They sound so different now. I love these early songs.❤
What a nostalgic song. It's about two people who were in deep love-but one of them has grown apart through ambition and high city success. Whilst the other struggles to motivate himself out of a rut. Whist she moves on. In reflection ,he will probably always see her as the 'one' when he's old.
I know. Unfortunately, I'm that guy. Kind of a beautiful tragedy...
I think you nailed the meaning of this song.
That has influenced me more than any song has..." - Tyler Joseph, Twenty One Pilots
gnarlish just heard some of their music a couple of days ago, and they're pretty good. It's amazing how they're influenced by this song, I love this song
Yep. I was tearing apart TH-cam for this video after I heard that.

i'ts funny cause everytime i saw their live videos and music videos i always thought to myself that tyler reminded me of someone but i just couldn't place who it was. then today i was watching this interview and when he mentioned the killers i was like "hOLY SHIT THAT'S WHO IT IS, YOU REMIND ME OF BRANDON FREAKING FLOWERS THANK YOU TYLER" it was a beautiful moment of realization really
gnarlish this. this right here. we have arrived.
Fuji rock🎉🎉🎉
The Killers fans in Japan have been waiting for you for a very long time🥹
"On the corner of Main street, just tryna keep it in line..."
Isn't that just one of the best openings to a song ever?
Can you read my mind.......
why?
'Stars are shining like rebel diamonds cut out of the sun' (think those are the rite lyrics; close at least...and its simply amazing poetry)
@@cleanserene6330 It's actually 'treble diamonds'.
rosé made me remember this amazing song, thank you rosie 💛
He makes me feel high.
Casey Loove same here! No wait..I was already high
Beautiful song.

came back here after listening to rose. I'm so shocked because I feel like this is not the usual choice that people cover
Better late than never ✊🥰🙌🥳💯
I saw them live. Terrible show. Sounded horrible
his Voice is literally heaven
About 13 years ago i heard this song for the first time while shopping in a Wall Mart store while visiting America and immediately fell in love with it. I think this was their best song they had ever recorded. Thank you The Killers❤❤🙌🏾🙌🏾
"The stars are blazing like rebel diamonds cut out of the sun...when you read my mind..." *Mic Drop*
I always tell this story:
This song was on the TV many years ago, when I decided to change my life.
Wonderfull song
This was my jam when I was kid
Same here. All popular songs of the killers bring up my early childhood memories driving with my dad in his car...
+Unverschämt same with my dad every time we would go somewhere
yeah I would sing along to the killers in the car when I was about 4!
+Narrow Neilan me too this remembers me when my brother played soccer
same but it still is
The very definition of a masterpiece…. Take a bow Brendan flowers you absolute legend 👍
"I wanna breath that fire again" is very powerful
That's youth my friend. The only reason for living.
Breath it👄👌
Life is moving so fast. This song came on. Wow forgotten. The killers amazing they revive your soul. Xxxx

I love this song! Thank you, The Killers Team for this peace of art! Yes, I’m seriously. ❤
I kind of just imagine 18 year old Tyler Joseph watching that opening scene in the first verse over and over, like mesmerized by it, and going "that's IT. THAT'S who I wanna be as a musician."
Don't make me cry pls
That's why I'm here!!
im here because of that interview too
im not sure what interview you guys are talking about but i just clicked on this randomly aND THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING TOO
Im here because of the song, but i became interested about your comment and i search the mentioned interview and, yes, i love those few seconds he looks ok, but the hands shake like no ok. maybe somehow we are connected. regards from Brazil
i had a dream about that girl one day with this song in mind , it was one of the most beautiful dream i ever had. It take me way back in like 2013/2014. Thanks The Killers.
