I really loved the thought processes in the second game

They didn't just die - she threw them away trying to spray down the CC only to need to rebuild them later.
Dark and scarlett are the most interesting player that make this old game still fun to watch. Of course when winter cast it

Scarlett is a reminder that Zerg, swarm. Throws so much stuff at you, if your economy is distracted, you just fold. Sure you may kill more in minerals/gas, but the winner is the one who doesnt type GG.

-Blizzard being anti political and everything that takes away from the game. It wasn't too long after Blizzard sacked a pro player from Overwatch who spoke up about Hong Kong.

Here's what you do to balance tvz. Ghosts snipe deals 50% less damage to armored units. Marauders do 50% more to armored units.
"Idk what to do against zerg" "Have you tried uh idk fucking only ghosts?"
Makes me fucking sick that ghosts are able to aoe split second knock out all energy from energy units, can snipe every single zerg unit instantly, can nuke, go invisible, and it's not considered a light unit so it doesn't take extra damage from banes. Blizzard really does love that fucking ghost unit I'll tell you that. Can counter literally any protoss unit and building because it takes the shield away from everything. Archons? 350 shield or whatever 10 hp? No big deal just emp them to 10 hp. Don't even have to go close to anyone. I can't stand the ghost. And the damn widow mine. IDK why you would go for any other late game build. Marines medivacs and ghosts. It even shows invisible units when you emp them, unless that's been changed.

Both these players are great players. Am I wrong that they are kind of the underlying best. Like Serrall, Clem, Maru, Reynor, then these guys a few more down? Not to be disrespectful, just curious.
This game is really insane! Scarlett is real zerg queen! Amazong ravager biles, nice defensive vipers in game 1. Yep mistakes were made but it was really high level and gight intesity game!

Personally in my bronze league hero opinion. "Mech terran" needs to include ghosts. The mechs secure you a stable position with tanks, and thor's/hellbats as a front line. the cyclones are just nice to have as well. but especially against zerg the unit is just broken and its ONLY weakness is getting ran down and surrounded. and getting NP and emp'd by an ally but you know.
playing Zerg is like playing Quidich. It doesn't really matter what else is happening in the game, if you get the golden snitch you get enough points to win regardless of what else happened. It's a side quest mini game that determines everything. Spreading Creep and Injecting are the mini games that decide everything. You can get harassed, lose 70 drones, take terrible engagements. You don't have to send any drops, or any harassment, no ling run bys or fancy moves. You just keep playing your little mini game, and eventually you win. That's what game 1 was.
Well Terran isn’t different. Did you see Harstem’s Terran game last week? He was 22 drones to zero SCVs, but had a bigger Econ than the Zerg with 3 mules.

that's what I was going to say too....but the reaper harass is part of the problem too....the first 5 minutes of the first game are in a nutshell the reasons why I quit playing Starcraft 2.
(Also note triple hatch opener and queens from Scarlett making her almost invincible)

to me spreading creep is almost like a mini-game within every match.
I sometimes get lost in it though, especially in the longer games. but it's sooooo fun

it's weird seeing Zerg not building extra base defences when they're storing several thousand minerals.
Like, you can afford the temporary resource hit to secure your bases from harassment, why don't you do it?
Well to “secure” a base with static d you’d need a lot. 2 spines are almost the same cost as a new hatch + cost in larva. Just like cannons, they can’t defend your base. They just buy time for your army to rotate. even a a single drop of marines can kill 2 spines in a few seconds. I guess arguable if they do that and your rotste in time and they have to pick up thats they are not killing your drones or hatch. But it’s also a cost in microing your drones to build the spores and spines. Placing them, with a a likely chance that they find a spot e tree just isn’t covered anyway. Remembering to rebuilding them. Also again, kills your own drones to build them anyway. There is something to be said about building them in mid to late game and migrating betweeen bases but again it’s micro dedicated to something that isnt guaranteed to get you value.
It's against zerg religion.
@@llanowar90 spores heavily damaging/killing medivacs will pay off, especially in preventing from them rotating between bases.
Also, cost in larva is not an issue if you're at 200/200 already. Neither is the cost of a hatchery.
Neither hatcheries nor the cost of them are meaningful if you need to waste them rebuilding them, or if there are no drones to actually return resources to them.
Static defenses take room though, but I'd guess the placement can be made so that defensive units can move, even maybe slow down or block stuff.
Microing is for both sides, though larva->drone->defense may be more, but then again you can pick when you do it.
I bet professionals have tested probably retested many times.
@@tondekoddar7837 lol, have you not seen Zerg make spore forests in late games before? They contribute a lot by preventing Terran from just flying in, and if they walk in, they'll be easily intercepted.
Static defences taking up room isn't even an issue since it's on your side of the map

Winter, I was having a crappy day (lost a case 9-0 at the United States Supreme Court). And you did, in fact, make it a little bit better. :)
And yes, for anyone wondering, it was THAT case. I represented the plaintiffs trying to keep former President Trump off the ballot. Like an SCII series: lost a close first match, won the second match (CO Supreme Court), got obliterated in the third match (SCOTUS) because the map was overwhelmingly against us.

@@starwars4427 LOL - yeah. I actually spent a lot of time drafting briefs for this case while watching Winter and Lowko casts (and sometimes Harstem and UThermal). It is a good filler in the background and nice break when I hear something exciting happen.

People are going to want to fight about it but I think artosis is right that the seamlessly fluid unit movement, plus the unlimited control group size, in sc2 makes things less interesting than sc1. Unit control in an important part of sc1, and while it's clunky it's much more organic and creates unique situations. In sc2 everyone just clumps together like a school of fish and it just makes things a little one dimensional. There is still unit micro but it's nowhere near the same. At first I thought that was a silly idea, because it seems like those things are just better to have in a game, but making things easier to do in a game doesn't necessarily equate to a better game. Having more organic and alive feeling units could make sc2 much more fun imo
Ehh as someone who barely played either game. Both are interesting. Sc2 is much more digestible spectator sport. Imo the Happy middle ground is probably wc3. Making individual units more valuable and individial micro more impactful to the pointy thst if you aren’t doing it you are at a significant disadvantage. It seems that’s the direction stormgate is going actually

Bias aside that Scarlett is Canadian which is awesomeness...she doesn't play terran and this is why I always cheer Scarlett over any Terran player cause I hate the meatball strat its tired and boring and used all the time.

I like the streams but I'm tired of every single video being about Zerg and the zerg player almost always winning. I couldn't even find a PvT video anytime recently and there are barely any protoss videos at all T_T
god watching these pro players manage everything makes me feel so incredbibly bad at my own abilities and i always thought i was an alright player..talke about feeling inadequate. The worst for me is seeing how scarlett is able to manage her creep, and do everythign else she does.. makes me wanna quit playing ,, LOL i officially suck at SC2

Because Serral is EU.
Astrea is the only NA player in the top 20 worldwide and he barely makes top 10. The rest of the top 20 is split between Europe and Asia heavily weighted toward Korea in the Top 10, though Serral and Clem steal the top 2 for Europe.
