I made a similar pillow. Last year I did the snowman on one side and the fall leaves on the other lasted through two years and it was reversible. Flip to snowman affer Thanksgiving and I kept it out until Valentine's day hahaha I love universal decor.
I am short on storage space, so I love your idea. I think I will Velcro one end of my pillow, so that I may use the fillers in other diy pillow cases. thanks for sharing your clever idea. Blessings to you and your family.
Hi! I love how you used things from the Dollar tree! Trying to connect with other crafters here on TH-cam! I posted my thanksgiving table flowers from the Dollar Tree. Check it out! m.th-cam.com/video/el25dbX8hiY/w-d-xo.html
The garland on your mantle was beautiful. For those who might not know, you can get doweling in various thickness, cut to whatever length you want at the hardware store, and it's cheap. We use them as our budget curtain rods!
I just came across this video and I love it for several reasons. She is quick and right to the point without all the blah blah blah of following her, liking, commenting, etc. Her quick tutorial was direct and looks easy to do. I've done the pillows before but I buy the placemats that are double sided and open up in a corner, stuff, and glue back together and voila, instant, cute pillow. 👍
That lantern idea was BRILLIANT!!! Quick tip: If you make anther one, use a cutting knife or an exacto and make it next to the stove, hopefully you have a gas stove. Heat up the blade and it will go through that plastic a lot easier.
I bow to the queen of craftiness. I am unworthy to sit in your presence. Girl!!! That lantern project is amazing! The two A's: adorable and affordable. Love it!!
Very clever and nicely done. For the lantern the only thing I would do differently is to have used wooden balls for the ends of the dowel instead of the styrofoam balls. At any rate you always have such inspiring projects.
Super cute décor. The lantern was a beautiful DIY and so budget friendly. And I love the placemat pillows. Try heating your knife with a lighter to get through the plastic easier and maybe it won't crack but you couldn't tell anyway. Great idea removing the glass. It was gorgeous.
That pillow!!! I haven’t wanted to spend too much this year, but really wanted new Xmas pillows. This is perfect!! Thanks so much for your great ideas!
The Lamp Post idea is Brilliant!!….I'm saving it for next Christmas. My sis and I made the Dollar Tree pillows and she had a ball finally doing a craft......She made them for friends. Thanks Katherine! Love ALL your ideas.
Oh my gosh!! I love the lamp post!! I am so making one for this Christmas. Bought choir family from QVC years ago but haven't wanted to spend the money for a lamp post. Thank you! Girl, you Rock!! Love you and ALL you do!
Kathryn, I don’t care what anyone says. I LOVE ❤️ watching your videos. You are so cheerful, very practical and seem very down to earth. Your boys are so cute. I’m also a Mom of boys. I want to Thank you for All you ideas and Time. God Bless you. Merry Christmas. 🎄
A good idea to cut a hole in the planter would be to use a dremmel if you have one on hand! Or even heating up a screw driver or pin with a lighter or candle flame. Super cute ideas!!! I always love your diy videos
The crafts came out great! I used to stay away from the glittery decor but then I heard about the trick of using hair spray to keep the glitter from getting everywhere- because it does, lol. I bought some glittery floral picks from Dollar Tree and hit them with the spray and the trick worked - no glitter to clean!
If you just take a little extra time to drill holes in the rolling pins and add dowels to secure them, it will last so much longer! If that thing tips over it will break apart. Beautiful idea! I might make one!
You TOTALLY AMAZE ME...and make everything look so darn easy. I guess i need to start on crafts for NEXT YEAR already!!! Thank you for your great videos!!!
Finally! The rolling pins! I've been waiting patiently to see what you were going to do with those!!! I only bought one at the time but I'm sure they are still in stock to get more. What a great idea! And I love the mantel decoration! So pretty! Thank you!!!
Great ideas, as always! A small suggestion of what I have found helpful, when cutting a Dollar Tree flower pot. First use a drill to make a hole in the pot, do not push down hard, or it will crack. Then use a serrated blade and gently saw to the size hole you need. The key is to not apply too much pressure as the pots are thin and brittle. This has worked very well for me and I hope it will help others.
You did amazingly again! I'm a crafter, jewelry designer, hobbyist and all the cards I give are hand made. I keep myself pretty busy. I say that to say this. Some of your DIYs I can't put in my small apt. BUT I CAN'T WATCH U ENOUGH. EVERYTHING U DO LOOKS LOVELY AND PUT A BIG SMILE ON MY FACE. Thanks for opening Your home it's lovely! There's a sweetness about u that jumps right off my TV or tablet and feels like you're a friend visiting. That is a Gift! Your a Gift! I seem to bypass others in my inbox to watch you first! Thanks for putting your sweet spirit out there and thanks for sharing. Keep doing you! 💜
Oh.my.gosh!!!! That lantern!! I'm going to make sooo many of these!! I've always loved the way they look but theyre so expensive!! I absolutely LOVE this!! And I've been so obsessed with dollar tree lately. I'm excited. Really excited. Thank you♡
Kathryn Thank you for another great video.. Your videos are always to the point, easy to follow, inspiring, fun and best of all affordable.. Thank you so much for all of the time you take to share your wonderful ideas with us. You truly inspire me.. Wishing you and your beautiful family a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!!
I'm making those pillows now. I have snowmen on one side and Christmas bells on the other. Love decor that lasts thru the holidays! The lantern you made is amazing. Keep up the great diys! 🎄
I would've never thought that just using DT's wooden rolling pins, could be turned into something so beautiful!!!! I loved, loved, loved the 'pillows' made from DT's place mats!!! I loved everything 😍🎄🎀🎁
First of all, let me say that you look darling with your hair up. The lantern is a great idea and so affordable. Love the pillow out of vintage placemats; I will have to see if my Dollar Tree has any. Merry Christmas.
I go in Dollar Tree and think, "What would Kathryn make?" An hour later, still in DT, I got nothing, lol! Thanks for sharing your creativity. You give me great ideas. Where would I be without you?
Got my inspiration from you. Went and decorated my daughters place she shares with 5 other poor college girls and they Love it 💕 Thank-you for showing dollar finds. DIY👑 & 💵 saver goals✅
When I saw those placemats a few months ago I snatched up two plaid placemats and two of the poinsettia. My first thought was to just use them on the table (I know. Boring!), but then on a whim I thought "throw pillows"! I had to trim down the poinsettia placemats since they weren't the same size as the plaid. I sewed them together and stuffed them with stuffing from some old throw pillows I was tired of. I love the way they turned out! $4 for two cute pillows and I plan on storing them for the next Christmas too.
Girl!!!! You are definitely my new best friend for diy. That lamp you made is absolutely gorgeous and I can’t wait to make one and hope it’s as good looking as your. Thank you 😊
Sounds like Walmart carts! lol I love your lantern, it turned out beautiful. I have a church on a stand, similar to your lantern. So, after seeing what you did with this lantern, I'm removing my roses and flowers and re-doing it with bows and poinsettas and lots of greenery for Christmas. Thanks for sharing this tutorial, it gave me the idea. I love all your videos, oh, especially your mantel. It looks glorious for Christmas. Merrry Early Christmas. Linda from Texas.
Your lantern is very cute. However for less money you could have got some PVC. It works for so many things. I just it for DIY's all the time. Love the pillows too.
Good morning and thank you for the upload! I was wondering if you planned to do a simple and cheap holiday storage video?? It’s our first Christmas in our home and I’ve been going crazy with the decorations! Lol thank you again!
You are so, so creative Kathryn. I love everything you showed. My favorite (of course) is you lantern lamp post. It took my breath away. I hope they still have everything so I can make me one. I also loved the plate mats you made into pillows. They look very expensive. I don't have a mantel (for the first time in my life)..I think I'll have my son build a large shelf in living room,to have something to decorate similar to a mantel. I hope it turns out and looks okay, doing it that way. Thank you so much for sharing your brilliance. Love ya. Linda, from Texas
Love the lamp post DIY. It also looks similar to the posts I see people are buying and using to hang stockings from. Been subscribed for years and love your videos.
I was drilling some holes in the bottom of one of DT buckets and mine cracked too! Agh!! I got smart on the next one. I flipped it over with a piece of scrap wood underneath.. worked like a charm, no more cracks. :)
Thank you kathryn💗I found your channel and I love it!!! I’m already a very crafty person but you have inspired me with so many more new ways and ideas.
