- This is a short documentary featuring a parkour/freerunning athlete. Here Márcio shares his journey, what's behind his parkour training, what's behind the jump and what it takes to overcome a mental barrier. While spending a few days following Márcio I learned that parkour is much more than just jumping around and for me that was really important to show in this documentary.

I've wanted to approach Márcio's story because I really admire the constant mental "push" it takes to actually manage the jump. Before getting the trick right, there are a lot of falls, failures and frustrations, things that we don't see, but those are the most important ones for our growth. And we all have those through life, right?

@@epochstories In stand up there is a moment where someone is so good but they're still touring as an unknown and have no specials. Other comics and people go up to them and say "What are you doing in a place like this?" Eventually in one of their shows they get scouted and given the attention and fame they deserve. You've been honing your craft, it is ready now. Now just wait to be discovered. That day will come I am sure of it.

Yeah, it takes time. And that's ok for me. I just want to be able of keep doing this for a while, as it gets quite challenging to balance with other things in life. Hopefully the big TH-cam algorithm will see me some day 😅 meanwhile, I just really enjoy being able of replying to every single person that comments on my videos. I love the community here

I practiced parkour for 6 years of my life, and it was the best thing I did for myself, parkour brought me important things, confidence, courage and freedom, parkour is art, and one day I want to practice it again
Your editing & cinematography have always been superb, but wow, you've shown you can do equally great with something as dynamic as parkour.

I am a noob and trying to learn making documentaries. And I came to this video, I like the way you edit and use less transitions and more directions.this makes it more cinematic. I like you. By the way, which editing software do you use?
Thank you very much! :) Yeah, I used to think a lot about transitions but soon realized they were overrated. Lightning is much more important when it comes to cinematic documentaries. I use adobe premiere pro. But if you're looking for a free amazing software you have Davinci resolve

Thank you so much Kabir! I filmed that scene in 3 different angles. There was like a "bridge" where I could walk to get the angle from the side while he was jumping :)

I am studying the techniques used in filming documentaries. I feel that I'm learning some important lessons regarding shooting angles, voice over placement and how background music connects the emotions of the film subject and the audience. Everything Marico said is the same thing i have always said. And I can 100% relate to everything he said. Because being the a Pk athlete myself. I know that feeling when u stick that landing after trying it so many times or when u finally get that move down u been trying so hard to get. You know the same way he learned and started PK was the same way I did too. PK change my life on I see the world and environment around me PK is my second passion I love it. And I want to spend the rest of my life doing Pk. To all of the people watching PK and thinking of trying it. Just go for it. Going out and training it is the only real way to learn and start to perfected it. Dont gave up on if u dont get your first couple of times. U have to keep at it. And trust me of u give it if u give it your 100% effort u will get it. To master Pk u must perfected the basic movements/ fundamentals of Pk till its second nature. Even the Pros dont always get it there first or couple times.What separates them from others is their mindset and work ethic to Wanna Get Better.And don't let someone else words or feeling be the reason u quit.❤🏃

Isso faz-se com um estabilizador/gimbal. O Márcio tinha uma e eu usei. Se quiseres um efeito smooth a seguir uma pessoa, ou mesmo para outros movimentos, a gimbal é perfeita. Imita o o trabalho de uma crane que só existe em filmes com grandes budgets. Mas uma gimbal ainda é um investimento de 400€ por isso convém pensar muito bem no uso que se dará antes de comprar
