Always a parade of inspiration watching your videos, Kim. I love all the pretty birds and pink. I have the same block with Newcastle Bird. i have it completely kitted (Attic silk conversion) but that border stops me from starting. you are right, just stitch it without the border! Thanks for the long one 🩷 xx
Hello Kim! Just had time to catch up on my floss tube watching and was so surprised you mentioned Erlinda and I on your video. It truly was a wonderful treat to meet you and chat. I was happy to hear you had a great trip up the gorge. It is such a beautiful drive. The Washington side is just as good and has wonderful things to see! ( Have to give my state a plug!)😂Anyway! I hope to see you again sometime. Maybe at a retreat?! Have a wonderful day!! Val
Once again always enjoy the Word of God and all the eye candy! So glad you enjoyed your Oregon trip… I lived here most of my 73 years and love every part of Oregon!
Oh Kim, I só much love your work, your choices. Sometimes when I have trouble falling asleep I take my phone and watch your pictures on Instagram and of course pin lots of new to me patterns. Love love love your work and your floss tubes!! Greetings from the Netherlands -xx-
@contentedneedleworkerkim Tomorrow is the big start! Been playing with converting a few colors this week…and I’m adding a lyric from of a fav hymn in that upper center tree area….going rouge! 🤭😂 You wield a-lot of influence & inspo my friend!😘❤️
Hi Kim! It was so wonderful to hug you at A&T!! Glad the Colonial needles worked for you, I really love them. I am not good at stitch-a-longs (actually for me it's more like a Start-a-Long) but I just got the rest of my silks for Where We Love by Chessie and Me so maybe we could do that one together? By the way, all of those waterfalls? That's my home. I graduated from Corbett High School. So all of those trees and those falls are very familiar to me. My dad was a timber faller for the Forest Service for nearly 40 years --they thinned so the other trees could grow better. He was from Ohio and always said we lived in God's Country. Now he truly does! Please thank your husband for the special scriptures. Blessings!
Love all your birds they're beautiful. I just love to see the color of your room. I can't wait until you finish the one you're stitching on. Take care 🙂
Just found your video. Love all the bird stitching! I started following you on Instagram too. Just got back into cross stitching this year. I have a lot of other hobbies (quilting, embroidery, crochet etc) I'm definitely enjoying cross stitch though.
Thank you so much for the shoutout! Love how your on a low branch is turning out. I also have HATS Sarah Rinder and just ordered Julia Rachel de la Mare last month. Look forward to stitching both in 2025!
I took notes during this flosstube. Your Louisa Barny is magnificent. The girl you’ve chosen for the centerpiece is perfect. I would have used it in my Maria Ewin if I hadn’t already stitched the two girls. This is my favorite sampler of all the beautiful ones you have stitched. I decided to use your suggestion of Smyrna crosses on the roof. I just finished the roof of the house in Sampler Hill. I offset each row by one stitch of the one below it. I’m happy with the result. They look like roof tiles. I am stitching the house teal and the roof a brownish mauve. Thanks for the idea. I am really tempted by that circle of birds you and Sarah are stitching. I do plan on joining the Friday bird sal. That would be a good time for me to work on the tree and leaves on Symphony of Friendship. Acorns and Threads is on my bucket list. Anna is the reason I am a cross stitcher. I followed her from Quilt Roadies to her flosstube Stitch Roadies. I’m sorry it didn’t work out for you to meet up.
So great to catch up with you Kim - so much gorgeous bird-stitching eye candy! A couple standout's for me were A Garden Glade, Eddie & Patsy, Louisa Barny, and of course Birds of a Feather! Wow!!! 💗
What a fun visit with you! Your vacation sounded amazing. I’ve never been to the Pacific Northwest but it’s definitely a place I want to visit. Colonial petite needles are my favorites. They’re the only ones I use. If you look inside that felt leaf needlebook I gave you, you’ll find that you have a few more. 😉❤
Ok… so here’s the plan…. I’ll stitch my Red Manor Sampler and then mail it to you to do my roof ALSO in Smyrna Crosses! Thanks friend!! 😉😉😉❤❤ this is a great plan if I do say so myself!
Wonderful floss tube as always with so much eye candy 🍬! Kim I especially was excited to see how “Dorothy” was coming along and oh what a beauty❤️ My question to you is when you do the Smyrna roof stitches, will your floss be variegated as I’m curious as to how that will look? I found that very intriguing as texture in the project and may experiment on a sample to see how it looks. And I have a small start on Emaline Purnell which is the prettiest sampler I’ve seen next to the Beloved sampler by Sylvia Stecker(sp?). Please thank your hubby for his sharing of scriptures that are the perfect ending to your videos. The word of God is rich and very comforting for those needing peace and joy in their daily lives. Blessings to you both🙏
Hi Nancy! I haven’t chosen a roof color yet, but I think the variegated floss will still work. Let’s see, shall we? Yes, I LOVE Beloved!! Dorothy needs some attention too! 🤗
Wonderful video! Of all of your birds that you’ve stitched, what would be fairly easy? Some are so confetti and I’m not sure I’m up to it! Thank you so much
I LOVE stitching birds! What designer are the birds in the round frames behind you? I used to live 45 min from Acorn & Threads, such a great shop! Now I live in Bend but try to visit whenever I'm over that way. Thanks for so many beautiful ideas!
Your (anniversary) trip looked like a lot of fun, greats scenery & food, LNS ++ (Think it is pronounced Mull-No-Mah Falls, like the T is silent) Iuse a laying tool on my white floss if single strand. I do 2 strands on 28-ct & some 32's, it all depends on the design & the fabric color if I go to 1 strand on 32. It is hard to go 1 strand and then back to 2 on another WIP. I stitch on Aida, Evenweave & Linen, and add a strand note in my project bag. Will you skip or do the Border on "Dorothy's Sampler"? Lots of nice new starts soon. 😎
Hi Dee! I think I will stitch to Floche or two strands of DMC on 32 in the future, but I’m usually going to stitch with 40. The T is silent…thank you! I didn’t even notice a border on Dorothy 🤣. No, not stitching it 😉
No you are not speaking too fast or scattered….your videos are delightful. I am thinking of joining you on Birds of a Feather Circle Together. Do you disconnect your doorbell on Halloween evening to help puppy stay quiet? It is a trick we learned years ago…but we do need to remember to reconnect it next morning. Take care. 🦉🦇👻
I'm a new subscriber and love your videos. You've inspired me to start stitching birds! You have so many beautiful ones but, to be honest, I can't catch what you're saying when you say where they come from. You talk really fast....haha...and this old lady has a hard time hearing. I guess I'll have to turn on the CC but it's so distracting. Love the color of your room :)
Hi Colleen! Yes, I do talk a bit fast, even though I try to slow down. I hope you find lots of bird charts to enjoy! You can slow down the speed if you want (I’m always speeding people up so I can keep up with all the Flosstube!)
I just love all of the bird patterns you stitch! I’m putting the Maximum Cross Stitch one on my list. Lovely video!
Oh yay!!
