Stronger. This is my word for this year. Stronger physically - be able to run a 5k in my 30th trip around the sun, emotionally - saying no and not having to explain, spiritually, financially - no spending for WANTS but more NEEDS, etc. If I am stronger, my well being follows because I am happy.
Looking forward to taking this journey with you. I think your word is a great one - especially in light of the ‘ scare’ and challenge that you have recently faced. It’s lovely to hear that you have lots of ‘ sisterhood’ support. The strength of a loving group of women who are focused on combining their energy and gifts to support you, is a powerful thing to experience on both the giving and receiving end. All the best for 2025.
My word of the year is DELIBERATE. I can use it as adjective or verb. I want to be more intentional and mindful. I am trying to journal daily and to reinforce my word of the year, I write about how I used my word that day or the day before (depending on whether I journal in morning or evening).
I love this word Lori! I wouldn't have thought about using it as a verb too. That's one way this process can be quite fun. Journaling about how you are using it daily is a great way to keep it top of mind!
For 2025, my word is discovery. Soon turning 55, I’m stepping into a season of life I’ve dreamed about: retirement. After decades of teaching young minds as an elementary school teacher, I’m ready to learn in new ways myself. Discovery feels like the perfect word because it’s all about exploration, curiosity, and growth. It’s a reminder to uncover what makes me come alive outside the classroom. For me, discovery means traveling to places I’ve never been, diving into hobbies I never had time for, and, perhaps most importantly, rediscovering who I am beyond my career. It’s about unearthing the joy and purpose waiting for me in this next chapter.
@@aliciavilas5411 how lovely! What a wonderful word choice for your first year of retirement! Have you chosen the first place you will explore for travel? What an exciting and wonderful year you have in store for you! ❤️
What kind of change do you want to feel? I think any word you choose will be achievable for you. The power in it will be finding a word that creates the feeling within you that gives you the motivation and momentum toward the change you desire. Does this make sense?

@ I am still looking into the first place I will travel to after retirement. It will probably be another state. I am thinking of Arizona.
I'm still thinking. I want my word to be powerful and achievable but initiate change. I'm thinking.....
