My Virgin Kitchen is a TH-cam channel I created when I wanted to teach myself how to cook and create a video diary of the journey / mrbarrylewis . I have never had a professional lesson & am just your every day chap attempting recipes to inspire you guys to try too. Most uploads are how to recipe cooking videos, but some fun is had too on Sunday Funday when anything goes, including giant foods, mini foods, taste testing foods sent from around the World, food gadgets and many more. Any requests for recipes / cool stuff you've seen let me know! +Liesa Wolf I went to Stuttgart for a week and all I pretty much drank was Mezzo Mix.
You can't get that stuff in the UK. I loved it so much. I know it's just orange Fanta and Coke, so I tried mixing them together recently but it just wasn't the same.
+EraPonyProductions that's because the German Fanta and Coke taste sligtly different from the one in the UK (and even far more in case of the US ones). As I am not from the UK I could not tell you what orange limonade comes closer to the German Fanta but simply try other combinations.
The Combination of Fanta and Coke are called Spezi over here, and thee are more combinations (for example Fanta and Pilsener Beer is called a Radler)
Meo van Mi I did try Schwip Schwap as well which wasn't that bad.
They just have the most perfect family atmosphere.
Barry, it's impossible to watch any videos with your family in them and not smile.

I am from Germany and I suggest:
For sweets:
Bounty (Coconut wrapped in choclate)
Kinderriegel -> Children bar (milk wrapped in choclate)
Ferrero Küsschen - The belittlement of kiss (a hazelnut wrapped in choclate)
Ferrero Rocheré - No idea about ttranslation ( Choclate and Hazelnut crust around a soft biscuit with a soft choclate core)
Haribo Stafetten -relay/ series of vehicles (liqurice wrapped in candy, no salt)
Baumkuchen - tree cake (a cake with a choclate crust)
Bienenstich - bee sting (some sort of cake. No idea what is in it)
And for hefty meals:
Spätzle mit Käse - bellitlement of sparrow (swabian noodles in cheesesauce)
Kartoffelbrei mit Kräuterbutter, Röstzwibeln und Thürringerbratwurst (mashed tatters with herb butter, fried onions and Thuringia grate fried sausages)
Hefeklöße mit Preiselbeer-/Erdbeer-/Johannisbeer-/Kirschsoße ( yeast dumblings with Lingonberry-/Strawberry-/Rasberry-/Currantberry-/Cherrysauce)
Reis mit Königsbergerklopsen (rice with Königsberg [Kings mountain] meatballs
Bauernfrühstück - Farmers breakfast (Fried tatters with scrambled eggs, bacon, onions and herbs)
I hope you find recipes for them and have a lot of appetite. :D

Königsberg war damals in Ostpreußen und wird heute Kaliningrad genannt :)
"königsberger Klopse" is a meal which is from Königsberg (Kaliningrad) it is a traditional food from this area.

The k in some (English) words is usually silent like "know" for example;
we Germans don't do that though, so it actually IS "K"noppers :D

+K Kitchenmom Nutella is sold in Germany for more than 50 years already, so many Germans dont know that it was invented somewhere else. Also Nutella is REALLY BIG in Germany. More so in Western Germany, since Nutella was not available in Eastern Germany during the separation. Nudossi is pretty much the alternative which was available in Eastern Germany. And Nudossi is arguably better since it contains much more hazelnuts.

I cannot express how refreshing it is to see Barry's family so engaged with his channel. In a TH-cam landscape where so many significant others and family members say they are too shy, too disinterested, or just too trifling to participate, this channel is a virtual oasis.

Weisswurst* - Wheat sausage
Munchen* - Munich in English. the German city where these sausages come from.
Note: I've been to Munich before and I've had Weisswurst mit Saurkraut. It was delicious.

Yes, definately do it BUT please just taste it in the "Ruhrgebiet" (Ruhr-area). There you can find the real and best one. Don't belive any people telling you Berlin sells best Currywurst. It's a lie !

why wouldnt it be white? White is a pretty normal color for cooked meat. For meat used in sausages to be red/pink after cooking it either needs to be cured with nitrate/nitrites (which is unhealthy but still used very commonly because customers like you prefer the red/pink color) or needs to contain a large amount of spices like red pepper.

+Darren Boss 'ß' isn't equal to 'ss'. But if you're not able to enter ß (either it's not on your keyboard or you love to write with capslock on), you are allowed to type double-s ('ss').
Just keep in mind to pronounce the word correctly with ß.
Vowels before 'ss' (doubled consonants in general) are pronounced quickly when the vowels before ß are stretched.
At least that's what I learned (and examined when I was bored). I'm not a linguist.
ß is actually "sz" but it's pronounced like "ss"

We used to have something very similar in the U.S as the Koala snacks shown on the video, this was back in the 1990's. They were called Koala Yummies here and they were stuffed with chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla. I used to love the strawberry flavored ones. They have since vanished from the stores though now you can find similar treats as imports from other countries in a few stores.
