- I show you how to make a Polished White Paper Ball. I tried it in a recent video and it didn't come out so well. In this video the results are great and I create a perfect white paper polished ball.

I’ve made papermache crafts before and from experimenting, it’s better if you mix the mashed paper with flour and add in PVA glue. Once it hardens, it can be sanded close to shine like plastic and it can even bind to spray paint without absorbing it entirely so it can keep its shine.

Props for giving it another go, way better turnout than the last one 👍🏽 a better way to sand round things though is to use something soft like a dish cloth behind the sand paper, (the way you were doin with your hand) that way it applies even pressure on the surface of round things instead of pressure points

Blending the paper with a stick blender would make the paper paste much less lumpy. This will make it a lot smoother I think. The reattempt is great!
Yeah I didnt want to ruin my blender. But its a great shout :D
Sam Harper I actually ruined my mum's blender and trashed her kitchen too when the paper pulp just splattered everywhere because the bowl I was using was too small. This is a very valid point actually XD

The flour might make it white so try *coloring the flour* ????
Just add some curcuma powder for yellow, beetroot juice for purple, green stuff like macha powder or other similar looking product... or ink or whatever, but I would go for the eco-friendly (and wallet-friendly!) ones.

I actually enjoyed watching this, I wonder what would happen if you sanded it from say 80 grit all the way up to 2500 grit and then clear laquered it, and then polished it with some wax, I bet it would look awesome😂 nice vid!

First thing you have a good strong name Sam lol. While watching this I was thinking I have made doradango balls before. Shiny mud balls. What if you made shiny flour balls instead. Take the flower make a wet ball out of it and layer by layer add flour work it add flour work it add flower. Maybe even use paper as a center but the flour would be the outer layers. Or just give it a go and try a shiny mud ball.

for giving the ball a beautiful, almost perfect shine on the ball, you can use this thing called ceramic powder mixed with glue. i've seen people make paper mache vases super shiny using that technique. it's a lot better than using nail polish!

Don't need powertools, just get finer grit sandpaper and some real polishing compound
Collect a bunch of the dust from sanding it down and put that in with the flower as a binder/moisture collection controll
This is a more simpler way put baby powder with a little water leave it to dry for 3 hours and then paint it *optional and yeah an adorable little ball ⚽

Maybe you could try and use one of those sphere ice cube makers to have it take that shape, leave it in the sun to get it to just barely hold its shape, then put it in the oven
