It will let you work changes in your network at a big scale with no trouble and we've been replacing access points for convenience rather than failure.

That is something common in windows when firewall active, and it was not given the correct exception. If it is hardware based such as UCK, then try hard resetting your AP.

While most devices will need to go through authentication, I need some of my personal devices to have internet right away without authentication. Also, does this also support bandwidth management? btw. Mikrotik Hotspot has the feature to bypass authentication for selected devices. Just enter the MAC-Adress in Hotspot IP-Bindings: Open Winbox, Go to IP menu -> Hotspot -> Log Tab Bindings -> Add new IP Binding (MAC and Type: Bypass). ;-)
Helo, I would use a different approach for your staff to have quick access. Create a diffferent wifi network, as this will give you a further step into security by assigning different networks, VLANs, isolation or even mac address filters. Good choice. Take a look at Omada WiFi 6 devices too.

Hello Olivia that is very common with Unifi and their interfaces. And I suspect it will still be like that for quite come time. Try checking if you have the latest controller. Also it does not hurt to see it in Windows. Options should be very similar: Radius Authentication, users, pre-shared key, etc.
Those devices have been updated several times. I just looked at our video archive and when working in the Dreammachine firmware was 1.8.6.269 which network controller corresponded to network 6.0.43. Today that same UDM has network 7.1.66 and eventhoug GUI seems a little different options are basically the same. Try to use radius as that may also help you with future VPN deployments.

Hello Sam, I understand, is more common than you think and most of the times complex passwords make us make mistakes. I would advise to check twice the passwords and make them as simple as possible while you test only. Once it works make them complex. Does not hurt to start over again from scratch.

If you try to adopt and asks you for username and password, that means it is still linked to a former controller. You must hard reset you unit, and then try again. That username and pw is the one specified as SSH connection credentials in the former controller.

Hi, even though Radius is an older technology (than most being used to authenticate users today) is not only being used by ISPs but also corporate networks to authenticate internal users within their domains, particularly useful for very big WiFi networks nowadays. Other hotspot technologies I also thought had been deprecated by the evergrowing use of Google and Facebook authentication (of which these controllers are capable as well as we've seen with Omada) but you'd be surprised how many times simpler solutions for authentication and WiFi usage still pose a very interesting approach for these deployments. Thanks for enriching these experiences for others.
@@momentosdetecnologia actually the technology behind has not changed, but have you had a look at the interface on an UDM Pro for example lately? it is totally changed. Nothing's the same.
That type of behavior usually is caused by cabling. Bad cable termination, wrong PoE adapter, poE switch not powerful enough, or EM interference, as well as long cable runs. Try resetting and adopting close to the switch with a new cable. Test and deploy.

Hi, it does work as a service in the Unifi Dream Machine, or Unifi Dream Machine Pro.
I guess there are more which can run it but basically must be a gateway as it is directly associated with VPNs too.

My AP does not adopt,it keeps on adopting and disconnecting alone
