I didn’t realize it when they started doing 13 week Arcs that they were trying hard to save this show. I think the ratings were slipping. But this was 20 years ago. Things are completely different now especially with streaming.
That’s why it failed. I loved Port Charles but the title of the show didn’t fit the stories and characters being 75 percent in the hospital. Very interesting stuff but so much more than GH in the hospital. If they were going to focus on doctors and nurses then it should have been called GH North or something…similar to Nightshift

@justbekind85 I agree but I guess some people grew tired of the Caleb the vampire storyline but Caleb did take his bite on General Hospital more then a decade later but because it was part of an hour soap opera the scenes were badly edited with other storylines going back and fourth LOL! When Port Charles was it's own show the main focus was more on the Caleb storyline mostly which flowed better. 🦇🧛🧛♀🏥
@samroberts82 huh I don't remember that. It's been so long though. Casey was the dead one/angel. The character of Marissa came on as a twin I guess cuz how popular the actress was. So refresh my memory: how did Casey come back and why/how did she send her twin away??
